bro with two iphones.
This is what I would do.
First thing , take one iphone that works fine , look at its apps , than take other that has issues , and if that one has some app that working dont have , unistall that app.
Try that , and see if issue is gone

And one more thing , if anumyone is trying to tell me that phone cant take screen protector , that that phone is doomed…..
I dont need it

Ok is it too hard to try , just try.
Disable the vamera control button , you can always get it back
On the one that has the issue?

To be clear, you don’t have to touch the camera control button to cause the issue- only the screen right next to the camera control button

Weirdly, in safari, it locks up the screen for as long as I hold my finger in that area

On the Home Screen, it’s intermittent. I can scroll between screens for a second; then I can’t, then I can, then I can’t

You are in US , mostly…
Send issues to apple , explain issues to them.
If its a software thing , they will confirm it.
And resolve it.
If its not …..

update: the issue can’t be triggered using the same method on the Lock Screen. So it’s very likely a software bug. If it’s the display then it should be faulty globally within the system.

If you wake the Lock Screen, then trigger it, it’s intermittent for me. Like on the home screen

Well, from all I read and correct me if I am wrong, the trouble with lag sensitivity touch appears to be the device, and so do you think they would recall the iphone 16"s?
When was the last time Apple ever recalled an iPhone?

If that “ghost touch recepe” dont work , than i don have any solution….
But what i would most definetly do, i would join forces , and put that issue widespread , so that apple is aware of it
