at 5:50 in this video. this guy had to touch the phone 5 times before it responded. 😂 this moment is very common if you often watch videos about 16 pro/max, and that's exactly what me and you here are also experiencing. i bet the number of people experiencing this problem is very large. it's just that some people realize the problem, and some people realize it but easily ignore it, the rest don't even realize the problem.

It’s very very **** this years

My original 16PM from November I felt like I made many errors when typing. I got another one yesterday (and also installed a different screen protector (Amfilm)). No sensitivity issues at all. My original phone had an ESR tempered glass protector. For what that's worth...🤷‍♂️

So the problem was the screen protector....

I think the Amfilm screen protectors are thin as the Belkin Ultra Glass 2 so the sensitivity is better than with 3 party screen protectors.

Yes I think people who say they do not have the problem do not registering the problem. Light taps really have to be light. And this is the point of the problem.

I just finished talking to the Apple Cupertino executive. They gave me two options: one is to refund my money now, and the other is to keep the case open, wait for a couple of updates, and if the issue persists, get a refund. I’m seriously considering buying a 15 Pro Max… and saving $250 in the process. What do you think?

If I look at the Amazon screen reviews there are SO MANY reviews with bad touch sensitivity. I‘m really sure it will be fixed with an update. I don’t think there are million of defective display units out there …

Yes, but it never happened to me with any screen protector in previous models. Regardless of quality.

Yes because they don’t have the new screen technology with thinner bezels 😅
Of course, then the problem is with the phone, not with the screen protectors. I think I'll go for a 15 Pro Max, I don't have the patience to wait for them to correct this "beta" phone. Then I will evaluate the 17 Pro Max.

I think there are posts about 15 pro max regarding touch issues. Some comments are from mid-2024

It’s not the screen protectors. I put the same protector on my wife’s 14pm and it was super sensitive to light taps. Didn’t miss any touch inputs. My 16PM is a little better than when I originally got it, but still nowhere near as sensitive as previous iPhones.

I can confirm that switching from iphon16pm to iPhone 16p there are no more touch problems, even running ios18.1.1 and a cheap screen protector of 9euro… the touch of iPhone 16p is an iPhone touch!!

I already have a well-developed opinion on the matter. I just removed the hydrogel from my iPhone 16 Pro Max—I didn’t like the rubbery feel. Without a screen protector, the sensitivity is excellent, nothing to complain about. But it’s not ideal. Previous models have the same excellent sensitivity even with protection. I’m increasingly convinced to switch to a 15 Pro Max, which works flawlessly, and wait for the 17 Pro Max, which I won’t buy until at least six months after its release. That will be my policy from now on—to buy with full knowledge, after thorough research, and to avoid the massive frustration I’ve been through. Honestly, it’s been a terrible experience. I paid almost $2,000 with a lot of effort… for this… A hug to everyone and thank you very much for sharing your experiences!

No problem!
I will say it will be fixed but it takes times.
I don’t think there are million of defective devices out there …

It's a possibility, but I don't have the patience of before. On the other hand, we must remember the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. It is always possible that there are millions of defective equipment. Or the iPhone 4…
