I’ve only started having touch issues since I’ve applied my ESR protector, never noticed issues before.
Same. But I’ve tried two other brands one even the same that I use on my wife’s 14PM, and I get the same results, missed taps. Makes me think apple didn’t calibrate these screens correctly.

It’s annoying but not yet wanting to “waste” a screen protector to see if it fixes the issue. :)

But what do you mean by the slightly curved display? Does the stock screen have a slight curve to it?
The screen slightly curves into the bezels. My 14PM was completely flat. I noticed these protectors for the 16PM leave a a little space on toward the bezels because of that slight curve.

Here’s something I just noticed for my particular website scrolling issue that leads me to believe it’s a software issue. It only happens if I set my finger down on an “actionable” item on the webpage, such as the header image to go home or a hyperlink. I can’t get the issue to happen when I start on an empty space.

I can.

16 Pro 512GB - (no screen protector and a Spigen tough armor case). I removed the case and tried using it the way I normally do and didn't have an issue. I tried gripping it more near the camera control button (where my palm would be resting on that area) and it still worked fine. I had to actually use my finger touched right to that edge near the camera control to get the unintended touch algorithm to kick in (where it works like it is supposed to with touch input being ignored for a short period). Seems like a software issue.

Imagine buying a nice leather sofa and then covering it with a plastic cover. Whats the point? Never understood it.

Best way is to go case-less and without the screen protector. YOLO.

I was having issues without a screen protector on 16PM, 18.1b4. When I was holding the side of the phone and touching a tenth of an inch or so of the bezel, the touch screen just stopped being responsive. But it seems resolved in b5… for me, at least.

cut/paste is randomly very difficult - my 16 pro max is having touch issues sitting on the desk so it's more than the side hold rejection. Called apple support and they ran diagnostic said phone not showing anything abnormal and to take to apple store for further evaluation. problems with and without screen protector.

Yeah I feel that the articles are only highlighting the touch issues around the camera button. Hopefully it’s all tied together

It's my first time on an iPhone & I'm really not happy with this, how soon do Apple fix issues like this ?

I'm debating returning it at the moment

Do you still have your old phone with everything on it?

I would return it in that case and just wait and buy it later, maybe even with a discount from a reseller.

I just turned on touch accommodations and semed to help.

Do we know if these have been reported to Apple or has anyone tried getting support in an Apple Store to see what they say? Unfortunately I live too far from any store, but I did contact support through messages however they wouldn't entertain me because I was on 18.1 Public Beta. It was funny that they managed to crash my phone when running diagnostics though and I had to reboot the phone!

The media is picking up the story now and it is being reported more widely. Apple has to be aware by now.
