I was on the bigger screen bandwagon. The launch happened. I was a little let down that the rumors were real, same width, "just" 4". Went ahead with and order since since I really like iOS and the iPhone in general. Then UPS shows up on launch day and realize they were right. That width is much easier to use and friendly in hand. I do love my iPhone 5 just the way it is.

Unlike Samsung Galaxy S3 owners, I don't define my personality or self worth by what kind of cell phone I own. I just don't care what kind of phone other people use.

The smaller phone was THE selling point for me. God I hate those huge phones. I want to forget I'm carrying it.

And watching a movie on my phone just sounds horrible to me.

Seriously? Why all the hate? He just posted a comment about the screen for heavens sake. Man, Apple fanboys are so defensive. It really shouldn't affect anyone whether this guy likes it or not. He opinion certainly didn't make my iPhone stop working.

Because he didn't say "I tried the iPhone 5 at the Apple store today and it wasn't for me, I prefer a larger screen". He had to add some inflamatory remarks as well. I'm really tired of seeing people defend obvious inflamatory posts.

Did people's hands get bigger in the past 3 years?
I've been using a 4.7' galaxy nexus for the past year and find the 4" iPhone 5 screen to be the perfect size

Agree, that comment makes no sense and has not context to imply what has changed to would require a larger screen 3 years later.

[8] I have a 3-year contract with my iPhone 4.......

Sour grapes.....explains it all.

[1] There is no such thing as the iPad Mini.
[2] The build quality of the iPhone 5 is also abysmal. See all the threads around here.
[3] I would get the international version of the Galaxy S3 if I finally choose to get that model.
[4] The battery life of the international Galaxy S3 is much better than any iPhone.
[5] The Galaxy S3 has maps that actually work.....
[6] The Android YouTube app is light years ahead of what is available on the iPhone.
[7] I am also considering the Samsung Galaxy Note II but it hasn't been released yet for purchasing and I want to try it out in person to see if it would actually be too big for me. I know the size of the Galaxy S3 is good, but I am curious about whether the Galaxy Note II would also be good.
[8] I have a 3-year contract with my iPhone 4.......
[9] I have no issue holding large phones.

I'm curious, when did you lock in your three year agreement with your iphone 4?

Also, the Galaxy S III has "serious" build issues. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-remains-deaf-to-Galaxy-S-III-build-quality-issues_id33091

Good to know that many people with any number of build issues with the iPhone 5 or previous models can typically go to the Apple Store and are able to exchange (pretty easily from what I've read in posts) for a new device within initial sale return date or warranty date depending on the issue.

I hope you're very happy with whatever you choose to go with when your contract is up.

My post was worthless - just like this thread. It was simply the appropriate response to his post.

If you look at his previous posts all he does is complain about Apple. Just ignore the obvious troll.

Well, I don't really consider the OP as a troll. I would classify the OP as BITTER AS ALL HELL!!!

From his previous posts I'm pretty confident that he has an iPhone, but I'm not sure what led him to make that choice. Maybe he was just on the edge of the bubble of the larger screened Droid phones that have been coming out as of late... Regardless, he has what he has and he sure doesn't seem to like it. I'd hope that he's taken good care of his phone and maybe can buy out of his contract early and sell the phone to kinda recoup some of the cost!!?? Don't have enough info to know what kind of contract barriers that he's facing, though. I feel a little bit sad for the guy. If I was in his shoes I wouldn't wait for the contract to be up!! I wish he had more control over his life...

I've not looked on any android forums (I like my retinas), but do Apple fans go on them and troll and post crap about how good the iphone is?

Just curious ... for example, all these anti-apple samsung adverts around, but never seen Apple do any anti-samsung/htc etc etc adverts.

I guess when you're the best in the business and everyone wants to be like you, you don't have to.

Apple = the Mike Lowrey of prestige consumer electronics.

I disagree with some of you. Wanting a large screen shouldn't make you anti-iPhone. I will always stick with an iPhone, I won't leave for a bigger screen, but that doesn't mean I don't want a bigger screen. I know Apple will never segment the brand, but I wish I was able to have a large screen and an iPhone (they shouldn't have to be mutually exclusive).

I have a 5, I love it, the increase in screen size is better than nothing, I've dealt with the 3.5" screen for years because I loved the overall experience of the iPhone/iOS, but just the screen real estate on some of those android phones makes me jealous. I'm 6'1" with large hands, I hope, one day, even if it's in 3 years, there is a larger screen iPhone, with increased width.

I am currently using both phones on ATT and I have to say as nice as the S3 screen is, the screen is a tad to big to hold and I have hands big enough to palm a basketball. There are constant updates to apps on my phkne but the Android updater never tells me what they are fore, but the phone is pretty smoooth and I feel by leaps and bounds the best Android phone to date can not imagine trying to hold a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, as I have to type with this SG3 in lanscape hurts my hands in portrait. I thought at first having a bigger screen would be better but not so much and a lot of apps are really buggy on this phone plus the built in apps are akways trying to update fairly annoying, but ics is smooth.

Everyone has different tastes but for me now that I haveuhaveused both for over a week I can say I am sticking with the iPhone maybe not the 5 but for sure my 4S if I do not keeep the 5

Before you bash any device have the decency to give it a fair shot, that being said this is an iPhone forum, and if you were in the androidforums.com I would expect there will be sone bashing in the iPhone.

Good Luck with your choice but be sure of your choice before you buy, the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the street

Lot's of typo's; curious - did you type this post with Sammy or the iphone?

S3 users are so insecure. They need a bigger screen to make up for else where they come up a little short...

I agree with Geckotek here, as do many other who were attacking the OP. If you don't like a product, okay, cool... But the OP went overboard, and got called out on it.

[1] There is no such thing as the iPad Mini. Not yet at least, we will know if there will be soon enough.
[2] The build quality of the iPhone 5 is also abysmal. See all the threads around here. Because the back of the phone gets scratches? While I do like my products to be pristine, this is minor. I had the GS2, and I used the GS3 for a month... While it was nicer than the GS2, the GS3 was still made with plastic and felt cheap to me.
[3] I would get the international version of the Galaxy S3 if I finally choose to get that model. iPhone 5 is still faster than the International GS3
[4] The battery life of the international Galaxy S3 is much better than any iPhone. I did not see any difference in the battery life of the GS3 vs the iPhone 5. Both are good IMO.
[5] The Galaxy S3 has maps that actually work..... I understand the Maps problem, but it hasn't negatively effected me, it works just fine for my usage. Turn-by-Turn is worth it IMO, especially since these issues will be fixed eventually. And Google Maps wasn't going to give Apple Turn-by-Turn (apparently)
[6] The Android YouTube app is light years ahead of what is available on the iPhone. Personally, I did not like the Android YouTube App. And even if that were true, that is only one App. SOOOO many apps ran better on my iPhone 4S compared to the GS3. And even better than that on the iPhone 5
[7] I am also considering the Samsung Galaxy Note II but it hasn't been released yet for purchasing and I want to try it out in person to see if it would actually be too big for me. I know the size of the Galaxy S3 is good, but I am curious about whether the Galaxy Note II would also be good. Makes sense
[8] I have a 3-year contract with my iPhone 4....... That is a bummer, I thought 2 year contracts were bad enough.
[9] I have no issue holding large phones. I liked the size of GS3 at first, but there were a few times where I almost dropped the phone because it was too big to use with one hand. Like others have said, Screen Size is a personal preference.

See Red Parts. Android has come a long way for sure. But there are still plenty of issues they need to work out as well. Also, I did not like how long it takes for Android phones to get recent OS updates, if they get them at all.

I've not looked on any android forums (I like my retinas), but do Apple fans go on them and troll and post crap about how good the iphone is?

I bought an HTC One X a couple months ago and I went on some android forums to compare the One X and the S3 and there were no Apple fans posting anti android stuff. I don't get why people take time out of there day to try to convince people that the phone they prefer is garbage. I did my research and I saw what else was out there so I have no problem saying the iPhone 5 is the best phone for me. I have no problem with the bigger screen on the S3 but I do have a problem with the quality. The One X and iPhone 4/5 both have much better screens than the S3. The color and brightness are terrible on the S3 but again that is my personal opinion. I certainly wouldn't go to an S3 forum and try to convince people who bought the phone not to like it. Everybody has different needs so I don’t why people get so upset about what phone another person chooses, especially if its Apple.

Have to say i used a GS3 for 23 days and just couldn't like it, I tried so hard, so here I am back to an iPhone 5. OS was far to buggy on that side of the fence. iOS just works.

Even the large beautiful screen of the HTC One X couldn't save me from jumping back onto iPhone.

While I do prefer the larger screen, my mobile experience on the One X fell way too short. It felt like a toy compared to the 4s and now the 5.

Not saying that merely wanting a larger screen makes a person anti iphone, but the specs of the phone are here and the OP himself stated that a 4 inch phone with 16:9 is so 3 years ago, so he shouldn't be shocked with the iPhone 5!

Choice is great, acceptance is great, etc... ANY changes of any kind brings certain differences and/or challenges. Will the change be better or worse is the question. With the screen size maybe we'll see a width increase in the iPhone screen. Phones might be as large as boom-boxes one day and take D-size batteries to accommodate break-dancers, lol!! Would some people be ok with that? Yep! I wouldn't. You probably wouldn't, either!! Some people will be buying the Galaxy Note on launch day, too!! Not I!!!

When I want a bigger screen, I use my iPad.

Otherwise my iPhone 5 screen is plenty big for what I need it to do.

I thought my Nexus S had the most perfect size screen of all my android phones. Apple going with 4" now suits me fine.
