insecure because he critiqued a phone?.......ok

No kidding. I'd say someone would be insecure if the product they used was critiqued and they disagreed.
Now THAT"S insecurity.

I would love a bigger phone than the 5 as well but I can palm a basketball and am well aware they are not going to have me as a target when dealing with ergonomics.
I am disappointed, but it is a fact of life when you don't fit in as 'average'.
I wish car seats went back further too.

So I tried the iPhone 5 at the Apple Store today. Just as I expected, the screen was not impressive as it is still so puny compared to every other major smartphone on the market. It really needs more surface area, specifically width, in order to be useful to do things like reading webpages in portrait mode comfortably. A 4 inch 16:9 screen was good.......3 years ago. This is 2012, get with the program Apple. Trying the iPhone 5 out in person has cemented by decision to go with something else for my next smartphone. After trying the Samsung Galaxy S3 and seeing its much larger screen, my God, what a revelation on what I've had to put up with on the tiny screens of iPhones.

Why not get a Galaxy Note 2. Get the dominator series. 5.5" screen.

Heck you can use Skype on an iPad. You get a nice 10" screen to easily view web sites in portrait mode. iPad has a microphone and speaker. Why carry both an ipad and phone at the same time.

By 2015 all phones will be iPad size, at least according to your logic.

I'm curious, when did you lock in your three year agreement with your iphone 4?

Also, the Galaxy S III has "serious" build issues. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-remains-deaf-to-Galaxy-S-III-build-quality-issues_id33091

Good to know that many people with any number of build issues with the iPhone 5 or previous models can typically go to the Apple Store and are able to exchange (pretty easily from what I've read in posts) for a new device within initial sale return date or warranty date depending on the issue.

I hope you're very happy with whatever you choose to go with when your contract is up.

I bought my iPhone 4 when it came out 2 years ago. I'll give you that it is more apparent how to handle warranty issues with iPhones and probably faster if you don't mind spending the $220 each time for non-warranty issues.

It's funny because most people said the same thing about 3.5 screen on the iPhone 4 and now the same thing is being said about the 5.

Yes, all the iSheep said that the word of Steve Jobs was perfect about 3.5 inches being the ideal number and anything else is heresy. And now the perfect number is 4 inches and they were never wrong before. They are blind to other numbers not blessed by Apple. Reminds me of some kind of cult that prohibits individualism.

No, the iPad goes in a bag or stays at home.. the rest of the room is taken up by manhood..

I guess that's why you can fit a S3 in your pockets.

Pretty lame & unimaginative response, bro.

Well, if you read this thread, you would have seen that the Galaxy Note 2 is one of the phones I am considering but I want to try it out in person first to see if it is too big or if it is a workable size. There is a practical limit on what size smartphone you can fit in a pocket, 6 inches in 16:9 is probably the absolute maximum size if Samsung is able to completely get rid of the bezels and have an edge to edge screen. You may want to think differently if you think the iPhone screen sizes are the ideal.

Ironic. And what is with everyone calling everyone "bro" lately? Does everyone wear double popped collars, aviators, boat shoes and live in a frat house in Georgetown now?

Well, that is what I imagine most Apple users as......bro. And his response lacked any wit and was unnecessary given the readily apparent sarcasm.

I think ill pass on the GS3 screen size.
There is an entire ~1/2 inch of unusable space on the GS3 screen.

I see this type of post alot. I see someone trying to bash or reason their way into getting a non iPhone, by posting and hoping their opinions are validated. If you feel you prefer to go Android, then do it! I don't really see anyone on an Android forum posting about switching to the iPhone hoping to validate their choice.

I had the very first iPhone from day one, yes, I waited and paid full price, then the second iPhone. Then I switched to Android to try it out, was stuck with it for 2 years. The poor aesthetics, no update support, and poor apps quality on Android made me really happy to go back to the iPhone. And now I'm on the iPhone 5.

I just come here to read on support questions and answer but these bashing posts are annoying. Go elsewhere to get your insecurity validated, like at an Android forum. At the end of the day, it's your money, and you make the final decision on what is best for you. You should be happy with whichever device you own. Everyone has their own preferences. Do your own research and decide for yourself.

Ever tried moving your hand? Or using two fingers? Or, *gasp*, using two hands to type a message? Multi-touch means multi-touch, not 1 thumb OS. Do you only ever use your iPhone with 1 thumb? You've been missing out on a lot.

You see people here openly bashing Android phones all the time.

Oh geez. Just buy the device you want and use it! If you have trouble with it, go to the appropriate forum and get help there!

How would it even be possible to use 2 fingers while holding it in one hand? What's with the ****** attitude? Dramatic much?

Cool, you like the S3. Go buy it and post in a different section, preferably one that isn't labeled iPhone. Hopefully with that extra screen real estate it will help your reading comprehension skills.

Well, I have to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note II to come out first before I can try it to see if it fits me and then there is the rumor that Google is releasing it's next Nexus phone in a couple of weeks so I will have to wait to see what it has.

And attitude? Do you actually see what gets written around here?

Probably. There is a subforum here to talk about other phones and Android gets openly bashed there by people here.

The fact that a subforum exists here is because Apple has many more products that this forum focuses on and some of the members have those products, but alternative phones. It also points to the open-mindedness of the Mods/Arn. What it does not do is infer in any way that Android forums have a similar subforum. You cannot use the existince of that subforum as proof that members here go troll in Android forums.

And being as much of an iPhone hater has you are, I expected you to give me a direct answer. You know, the answer somone who loves Android and participates in Android forums would give? So what it sounds like to me is that you spend your spare time hating on the iPhone in an iPhone-centric forum and none of it discussing your beloved Android in an actual Android forum. What kind of pathetic is that?

I'm sure you've done some research on the iPhone 5 and know what that's all about.

I'll do you a favor and give you a link for your itchiness about the tablet you're inquiring: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2/611345-questions-you-would-like-answered.html

I'll give you a suggestion, After you follow and wait on that rumor of a new Android coming out, and when it's actually available, a new rumor will pop up by some other company releasing another Tablet. Just find the one appropriate for you!

I see that you haven't had experience (ownership?) with an Android tablet before. May I suggest you stop right now, go to a Best Buy tomorrow and play with it for a while? Some Best Buys have an Apple section so you can go play with the iPad compare it there. I'm sure the tablet you are waiting for are generally the same as the existing models.

Edit Note: Dunno why I said tablet. Suppose to be phone. I need sleep.

Well....I only have a iPhone 4 may be the reason..... And I don't go to Android forums.

I seriously considered the S3, first when I got my BB Torch a few months ago, and again recently when I got tired of my Torch's lagginess. But as a disabled person, there are times when I need to hold the phone in one hand, and it's just too big for me. Plus I didn't want to test drive Android. I know what I'm getting with IOS.

Besides, I have an iPad 3 for tablet stuff. I mainly use my cellphone as an email device at night when I'm away from my PC (I save the iPad for surfing and writing mostly). I'm really excited to get my first iPhone, but I don't need to go on an Android forum and trash their devices. I made what I hope is the best choice for my needs

My mistake, I forgot you had an iPhone 4. But that still doesn't answer my main question. If you are so into Android and plan to upgrade to one, why are you in this forum making inflamatory statements about the iPhone 5. If you want to say it's just not right for you, I respect that. But that's not what you did. You came in here and intentionally made statements that were not only illogical, they were intentionally inflamatory. Are you just bored or are you just pissed that you have another year left on your contract and decided to air our your frustrations at an innocent iPhone 5?

But we're talking about holding it in one hand.

I don't have time to go read each post but usually what I see that's written is people posting the same error or problem they've had over and over and over without first searching the forum.

Or I don't like the iPhone and am getting an S3, so I'm making a post about it in the iPhone forum. type posts

What's illogical about me saying the iPhone screens are too small? How is that even inflammatory? The fact is that the iPhone screens are too small to be easy to use for a lot of common tasks. The iPhone screens are the smallest of any major smartphones out there. It's fact.

Why would I want to use 2 hands to use my phone?
That isn't very efficient.

Can't drive and text.
Can't carry stuff while using the phone.
Can't hold onto railing on public transportation and use phone.

1 hand operation >>> 2 hand operation.
If I am going to use 2 hands I might as well use an iPad.

A) Because that's not all you said
B) Because being "too" small is a matter of opinion, not fact

I guess all smartphone manufacturers can drop multi-touch technology from their phones then since you only use your phone with one hand.

Oh, yeah you don't like that you "Can't drive and text" at the same time like with your iPhone. I see you are one of THOSE people.

Multi-touch is nice to have when I used two hands.

What's also nice to have is the ability to use my phone with one hand.

BOTH are important to ME as well as others.
