I've ordered mine a few hours after the Keynote as well and it's due 5-6 november. I must admit I'm quite annoyed with this as well.

Although I must say that I somewhat understand Apple's position. I rang them up the other day and they said that they have tremendous amounts of orders to fill.

I understand, but still. Us being early adaptors and all, we aren't really being treated accordingly!

i know this is none of apple's doings, but my supposed macbook sleeve which was "delivered" today, actually isn't here when i got home from work!!!

USPS website says its "delivered" but its not here.. ive checked with a few neighbours who haven't taken delivery either!!
the mrs says she didn't see anything come either...

****** great!.. i've emailed usps, who quite frankly probably won't do squat :(

so i'm without a macbook and a sleeve!!!!

Don't panic too much. I'm pretty positive that UPS has delivered the sleeve to the company that is merging the laptop and the sleeve into one delivery, and you will receive both at the same time. That is, the sleeve has been delivered to another courier or depot.

no.. the sleeve has nothing to do with my apple order..
the sleeve was ordered from somewhere else (not apple)...

having had a bit to think about it, the status on the USPS (not UPS) tracking page is:
"Your item was delivered in GREAT BRITAIN at 7:59 AM on October 27, 2008."

I assumed that meant it was delivered to my home.. it might mean that, but it might also mean that it is now in the UK (from the USA) and will be delivered to my doorstep tomorrow/wednesday..

man, after this whole experience (sleeve + macbook i'll never order online again!! lol

i dont know whether to laugh to cry!! haha boohoo...

Holy moly! 14th october order date.. 6th nobember latest pickup.. and i was getting frustrated waiting 2 weeks.

You guys need to stop moaning if you order online on release you will have a big wait and why does it matter if you can track it or not it wont speed up the delivery. You knew there was a wait when you ordered.......

Maybe I'm the only one that ordered from another retailer ? - I pre-ordered from Amazon UK on Saturday 25th Oct - ordered the 2.4 macbook - it is on its way to me and will be delivered tomorrow :D

Dude.. this is all bout setting the right expectations... mac never does that.;)

A great example is the launch of the iPhone and now... the Macbook. :apple:

This forum is a great way to share one's eager getting the MB. :apple:

Apple wants to hype it - and that's how it turns all out. If someone wants to air their troubled minds... I can't imagine a better place to do it but here!

So... let us please air our troubled and.... eager mindset!

Well no, actually I didn't, because Apple don't say "order now get it in 2-3 weeks if the packhorse doesn't die of malnutrition".

Call me newfangled but I'm used to ordering online and getting it next day or 2-3 at most, maybe even a week if it's really rubbish but 2 weeks, maybe, maybe 3 for one of the biggest companies in the world when you spend well over a grand is nothing short of ridiculous.

I will never EVER buy online from Apple again, I'm sorely tempted never to buy from Apple again - and I haven't even got my first product from them yet!

EDIT: Mine is now saying 'shipment delayed' - did the ***** paddle break or something?

Hiya, i've been following this thread for a while now but thought I would post my information.

I placed my order for Macbook 2.4 with extra ram plus a nano and printer on Friday 17th. The information i have is shown below:

Im just a bit confused because the initial delivery estimate which is the same as in the first image says 5th - 6th Nov, but the email from apple saying it had shipped said 4th Nov, but then in the second picture it says 31st October???

Also, how can I track this with a company? People have mentioned UPS, TNT etc and the 10 digit number beginning 808 but I cant get anything to work.

Thanks for any info from anyone that could tell me more from experience. (and sorry for the big images :( )

log into the apple store US and you can get tracking numbers but i'm not sure how or where to use them?

I am soo angry on apple, this is my first order from apple store online.

And this is my last order from the online store aswell.

There shippment is soo bad, it never takes soo long to ship a laptop from China to Europe.

Its been almost 14 days, maybe they want me to wait a year:mad:

My track and trace id is still not here, and it has been updated since 24th oct....

God knows if i will ever receive my MB in this decade or not:(

y dont u all just go to a store instead of ordering from china being told there is a week wait before dispatching and then moan about waiting

The only difference I can notice when using the US store is that the initial page in my first image above looks like this:

so instead of having the button it has the tracking # but I dont know where I would use this either. Clicking on it does the same as the button and takes me to the second image in my previous post.

I totally agree with you - for a company the size of apple their delivery timescales are shocking - I would never order from them online because of this - if I ordered my macbook from apple direct it would be early November before I received it

Because Danny some people prefer to edit the configuration of their mac when ordering and the only way to do this is by ordering on the Apple Online Store.

I dont think a lot of people are moaning (and if they are and you dont like it then just ignore this topic!) but they are just trying to get their heads around the crazy apple shipping process.

Finally!!!!

Now it says "Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 27 Oct 2008"

Does it mean it has landed in Holland or has it land here in Denmark??

Because it had to merged in holland for my ipod. And when will i receive my tracking id then?

I ordered mine a few hours after the keynote ended and mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow via TNT. Used the TNT tracking information and it's showing as picked up today and out for delivery. Apple site is showing tomorrow. I ordered with a sleeve and a Nano.

Has the TNT number appeared as the Carrier Tracking Number or is it from the US store?
