ok well just got off the phone with apple... it appears my MBP is in luxemburg and will be with me mon-tue making it 21 days after i order... im not too pleased about this as i was hoping for delivery thursday or friday

21 days? the new macbooks were only announced 2 weeks ago!!

that's what we like to hear :)

oh right.. i didnt factor he future into my calculations ;)

Hehe sorry yes seeming like its in luxemburg the lady on the phone was probably correct about it being deliverd mon-tue which will indeed be 21 days... thats life i gues...

Just looked at mine on apple UK and I've had this added:

"Current Delivery Status In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days - 29 Oct 2008"

Sigh

Exactly the same, I ordered on 17th Oct. This is just getting stupid now. I'm just gonna remove macrumours and apple order status from my bookmarks and try to forget I even ordered a macbook

At least then it'll be a nice surprise if I get it before xmas.

Just called Apple in Denmark. They told me that all dates in the order tracking are wrong - well until you can track it with your carrier at least. I ordered my MB (iPod Nano) the 16th, the order was shipped 24th (from the factory to another part of china). My order should be dispatched from the Netherlands tomorrow or Friday and then I'll be able to track it. The person at :apple: expects my order to be delivered to me Monday or Tuesday.

Don't know if I dare to set my expectations.

Just got my carrier tracking number.

Assigned Carrier is UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER.

Ordered 2.4GHz 4GB on 14th (shipped 22nd) + iPod.

Thats not your carrier, your carrier will be either UPS or TNT. Once either of the companies get your macbook it'll be logged in their system and you'll be sent a tracking number.

how long after the "assigned a carrier" status till actual delivery?

Mine took two days and then changed to 'delivery scheduled by final carrier' once its at this stage you should receive a tracking number for TNT or UPS within 24hrs of this stage and then it should be delivered the next day.

if i dont get a tracking number tomorrow im gonna murder someone!

My MacBook is no longer coming today, its coming tomorrow.

Its being scanned in Amsterdam (as all computer equipment coming into Europe does).

:(

I know that it's either UPS or TNT. But it doesn't say which yet.

Mine already says "Delivery scheduled by final carrier". It changed at the same time I got my 'Carrier Tracking Number'.

aaaaaaaahhhhhhh how long before my macbook arrives.......
I'm literally going crazy at work. I swear i cant wait another second.
according to UPS website its still in the netherlands. arg.
:eek::mad:

Hang on, mine's changed to "Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date"

Estimated delivery date is tomorrow - I won't hold my breath (if I did I'd be dead by now).

Assigned Carrier
UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Hopefully TNT details will be here soon.

Mine clearly has a liking for the TNT Hub in Northampton as it's been there since last night. Maybe the lorry was full who knows but I should have it tomorrow surely.

Mine arrived today, I'm typing this reply on it right now :)

It might have taken two weeks (to within an hour) of when I ordered it to arrive, but at least it's operational and pretty much perfect. Interestingly, I have the same, slightly slanted function keys that PresentACat mentioned. Rev A macbooks, eh? :p

Same here. I need a decent computer soon, this Dell Inspiron 5100 keeps freezing on me.

Bah! I am nearly as incandescent with rage as I am with that Brand and Jonathon Ross! :p

Not to rub it in but my Macbook arrived today. Only just got home to play with it as I've been out all day!

Contacting Apple really helped, it was shipped priority, delivery before 10am!

I'm so chuffed, sorry for those who haven't received theirs yet, I really recommend they email steve@mac.com to complain. I did and I got mine less than 48 hours later!

How do you find the screen?

I wrote a very unhelpful, partially abusive email. I haven't had a response:

Steve,

I can't do with formalities as I see no reason to treat you with any respect when your company clearly doesn't treat me or any of your other European customers with any.

As a PC convert, I was waiting and saving for six months in the run-up to a new macbook announcement in the autumn and ordered my new macbook within seconds of the UK store coming online after the announcement on 14 October. As a keen user of online retail, and with a large new launch from one of the world's most reputable companies, I expected to be using my sparkling new macbook for business and pleasure within a few days - a week at most.

Little did I know that the seven days advertised on your website would actually be two weeks, and that you would actually take the money before even building, packing or shipping my macbook. It is a gross disservice that not only do you take in excess of £1000 from me without giving me anything in exchange but you also dither with non-existent online tracking whilst your US customers get next day delivery and were playing with their new computers within 24 hours of the announcement.

Now I know that you will have had plenty of orders, but these were obviously planned for as you managed to deliver the new macs to US customers (at a much cheaper price I'll add) over a week before UK stores even had stock. Apple is also one of the most recognised brands in the world, this service - when your UK customers spend almost double what the US ones do and spend about a month's salary - is nothing short of a slap in the face.

I truly hope this mac lives up to the hype, otherwise I'll be going back to Windows in no time at all. One thing's for certain, I won't be buying from Apple or your online store again.
