Just got off the phone to Apple, spoke to an American chap called Michael! He informed me that my order (2.4Ghz Macbook, canon printer, iPod nano and sleeve) are at the distribution centre in Hinckley, and that I can expect it to arrive before the 4th. I'd quite like it to arrive tomorrow or Saturday to be honest :/. The order status still says 'In transit to destination country' though. Hopefully I'll receive an update tonight.

In case people want to know, I ordered on the 16th at 14:30 BST, shipped 24th.

Just been updated to 'Preparing handover to final carrier'. Ordered 16th, shipped 24th. Macbook, iPod, printer + sleeve. Fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow!

The distribution centre is in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Over 300 miles to Edinburgh :(. I hope it reaches here overnight.

Mine is due to arrive in Crewe tomorrow. What that means in regard to when I'll get it im not sure. It's expected to be at my door by tuesday, but if its in my town tomorrow I'd quite like it tomorrow.

never going to happen tho is it :p

Mine arrived at half eleven this morning, I was actually looking at the UPS tracking site when the door bell rung, wondering if it was ever going to arrive.

cool.. i just got my tracking number..
and like you DYER it's the same as my apple number.. 80xxx

you just input that into www.tnt.co.uk

on the right hand side at the top will be the tracking..
ensure you click the 'reference' radio option and enter your 808xx number and it should find it no problem..

mine said picked up today. and to cal tnt international on a 0800 number.. which i have just done and they confirmed it will be out for delivery tomorrow.

bummer as i'll be out for a few hours... :(

what time normally do they come? mid morning? afternoon?

getting excited now.. the wait is almost over!!!!

Argh, you guys who have recently received tracking numbers seem to be a day ahead of me :( (estimated delivery 30th October), mine is the 31st. Mine still says 'preparing handover to final carrier'. I guess I'll be stuck until Monday .

not 100% sure what you mean.. as my status is:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change)
30 Oct 2008 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date
30 Oct 2008

both dates are todays date!!!

I'm pretty sure that means it will be delivered to the TNT depot today, and out for delivery tomorrow. Mine on the other hand says the 31st, so it will be at the depot tomorrow, but delivery will be made on Monday.

You would of been better off traveling to Glasgow and purchasing it from the Apple Retail Store :D

Not really. I purchased through Quidco, got £63 cashback, and entered in to a draw to win an 8GB iPod touch, which I also won. Over £200 extra just there.

I still have no tracking number ordered 19th
-In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days since the 29th.
- Estimated Delivery Date 31 Oct 2008 (Subject to change) British time.
Phoned apple and ive been told that itll be meeting with the ipod ive ordered on the 1st and ill get tracking info on monday..

Im hoping they're wrong but 2 weeks for delivery seems an awful long time.
anyone else in a simular position to me?
or knows how long it takes to deliver after it says in transit to destination country?
thanks

Hope mine doesn't take as long as some peoples seem too,

Ordered 2.0ghz standard with an engraved nano on the 28th
Was supposed to have been shipped yesterday and was showing as in transit to destination country.

Changed this morning to "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule"

Not sure if this seems to be moving awfully quick , estimated for delivery on the 4th of november.

My order currently states In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule

Anybody knows how long time it takes before I get the tracking nr from here?

It changed today to in Transit to customer - before it was in transit to destination country or so....

In the exact same boat as you, ipod and all! Ordered 19th...shipped 24th...Estimated Delivery 4th (Im in Ireland)

When I rang they told me it would meet the ipod on the 31st/1st, tracking info over the weekend so I imagine it probably will be next week for both of us!!!

Depressing!!!

Situation gets sillier by the day. My Apple status shows a delivery date of 29th and a status of "on schedule" - which it clearly isn't. The TNT tracking which has shown it in Northampton since the 28th just says in transit. TNT on the phone claim the delay is due to road works in the channel tunnel - which is strange route between Northampton and North Notts!

Ridiculous and Steve (or his army of assistants) still hasn't replied to my email either.

EDIT: oh and Apple on the phone is apparently closed. Ho hum.

yup, not good at all that means over an 2 week wait, im literally bursting here worked all summer for this.

well let me know if you hear anything

I ordered my Macbook and printer/scanner online about 6pm on the 15th October. On the 29th October I finally got a tracker number and an assigned carrier, TNT, with delivery estimated for the 30th October. TNT's website confirmed that the consigment was picked up on the 29th October. So I was confident it would arrive today.

6pm today and nothing had arrived so I called TNT again to check the status of the delivery. The guy I spoke to informed me the consignment was damaged when they received it from Apple and they couldn't deliver it, and were waiting for Apple to advise what to do. So I then called Apple who confirmed this and gave me the option of cancelling the order or they'll send me out a new order and I should receive it next week. I've taken the new order option, but I'm not very impressed as I was under the impression that ordering it direct from Apple online should be one of the quickest ways to get hold of the new Macbook. It appears not though as it was already in the highstreet stores and other online retailers at the start of the week.

Ah well, I'll keep smiling and hopefully I'll eventually get my new Macbook..... one day.

Could you elaborate on your discussion with the Apple Store representative? Was your order delayed in relation to your Order Confirmation e-mail?

Hi Stemann,

My order wasn't delayed beyond the estimate in my order confirmation email. However, what persuaded the representative to give me a credit was when I pointed out that when ordering, there was no indication that the order would be shipped from China, not a UK retail distribution centre. When I ordered I assumed that a shipping estimate of 7 business days meant a delivery estimate of 8 business days (when spending a thousand quid I would expect next day delivery!). He acknowledged that it was poor customer service not to have made clear that there would be an additional wait once the order was shipped.

He initially offered me £20, but then upped it to £50.

To be honest I phoned up not because of the delays, but rather because I didn't have any tracking info and so had no idea when my order would actually arrive. It was only when I was in conversation with him that I realised quite how poor the service had been!

Hope this helps.
Max

Hi guys,

I ordered my macbook+canon printer+ipod nano+sleeve in the early hours of Friday 17th and still have "in transit to destination country". ETA for delivery is the 5th-6th Nov.

Really poor service considering the website has been promising 3-day shipping for over a week now, and mine looks as if it'll be a 3-week delivery :(
