And so is everything. The Twentieth Anniversary Mac is also just a piece of outdated technology. And so are lots and lots of other things. May we not have some fun at least? Sure, there's a newer, better version of our machine out. That doesn't mean we don't still like ours very much, thank you.

:)

I understand where you all are coming from now. For what it's worth, I'm in the "Collectors Edition" club and I'm extremely happy with my 2.0 Unibody MB. Did I ever think of upgrading to the 13inch MBP? No! The reason why? There wasn't enough of an upgrade to warrant the price in my eyes. Now, when a significant upgrade is released then you can count me out of the CE club. :D I'm not one for upgrading to the latest and greatest without any merit. I only upgrade when A. My current hardware no longer completes the tasks I need it and/or is so outdated that it has trouble running the latest OS, or B. My Mac is on it's last legs. Neither of those seem to be happening as I just purchased my UMB in October so for now I'll be happily typing away on this nice little machine. I can only hope that when it is time to upgrade Apple still has a 13inch option. It's the perfect form factor for me. Okay, I'm done with this reply as it seems to be getting a bit too long.
:apple:

To be honest I don't like the word "Pro" on a 13' MacBook screen. It looks so silly ,so i'm glad I still have my 8 month old unibody macbook :D

I'm also going to take my macbook extra good care because it is now a collectors :apple: !

There really is no reason to call it a Pro. The Pro line has always been distinguished by the processing power and beefy GPU, the CPU and GPU is nearly identical.

I'll be selling my Macbook unibody for a few thousand dollars in a few years. After all, its a collectors iteam :p

HAHA! Yea I just figured I'd get that out there to try and settle down the people who just had to have the "pro" with 1.5 gigabit speed! hahahahahaaaaaa!! 3.0=CE!!

Yeah it will be a Collectors Item ...

Collectors will be looking for them like they are looking for the Coleco Adam!

I wonder if anyone remember that short-lived gem of a co(COUGH)mputer.

;)

Requesting permission to join the CE club. :p

I bought mine about 3 months ago, this is my first Mac ever. When the new MBP's were announced I was bummed out for a little while but then I realized what a rare gem I have on my hands :D

Anyway, I'm in no rush to upgrade to the new MBP as I'm sure my CE will continue to be quite a capable machine for some time to come

If you think apple screwed US over...

Has anybody caught the 777 post discussion on the mbp site about the 13" mbp's having 1.5 gb sata instead of the mb/ce's 3.0 gb? There's a lot of people who aren't getting the full benefit of the intel and other uber ssd's because the sata connection can't keep up with their ssd's and they're PI$$ED!

Wow a lot of people here wanting their MB to be a CE.
When the new MBP's came out I rang apple the day after to try and blag an upgrade or return it, was 55 days old but they were extremely understanding and wanted to help but their was nothing they could do... They convinced me that its awesome again :D Love my laptop
