I'll give you 300 dollars right now
3000 dollars seems more fair since it is a CE MACBOOK

I thought they smashed Professionally and Owned together which would equal = PWNED
My understanding is the same that wiki speaks of. Typos arising from quick typing within an FPS game....
Obviously the unibody MacBook is just a MacBook Pro in the guise of a lesser model, so the username is justified regardless. Alternatively you could say that the unibody MacBook is the model that aspired to greatness, but flopped about instead, in which case your username should be changed to "FailBook Pro" or something along that line.I actually bought my 'CE'p) 2.4 MacBook yesterday at a lowered price. Sure, I could have gotten the lower-spec 13" MBP @ the same price but I don't need any of the new stuff.
I would have gotten an iPod touch (back to school) though. Erm... I don't have the money to pay up-front for the iPod anyways
I'm still keeping my 15" early 08 MBP, so my username is still justified![]()
So I guess this is another way to view the difference between the UMB and the MBP 13"... I have earlier stated that it's far better to have a great MB than a mediocre MBP, but now, it became even more obvious that the latter is merely a prototype (of its kind, that is) whilst the former is the best MB there has ever been. This applies to the construction as well as to its specs - not to forget the aesthetics.
And for those who kick themselves because they bought the MBP 13": Congratulations on having purchased the cheapest MBP ever produced by Apple. You got what you paid for - how about an Acer Aspire next time?
I bought the unibody macbook less than 3 months ago and now for the same price, i can get a better screen, firewire (doesn't really bother me as i dont use it), SD card slot, faster processor, and more ram! This has been bugging me non stop.
Welcome to the world of IT. At least you're not in the position of those-who-should-have-known-better, also known as the people who bought their MacBooks right before WWDC. The sooner you get over it the sooner you'll realize that you can never win with an technologically oriented purchase. It's all about how to lose "less-badly."I bought the unibody macbook less than 3 months ago and now for the same price, i can get a better screen, firewire (doesn't really bother me as i dont use it), SD card slot, faster processor, and more ram! Should have known better than what?? Of course, now we know that they would have gotten a discount or something if they had bought their UMBs right after the WWDC. But on the other hand, they shouldn't have risked the sell-out of a great MB - which actually was likely to happen when the crappy features of the 13" MBP had been announced with the statement implying that all forthcoming models of MB will look like plastic toys again.Welcome to the world of IT.
