I embarrassingly need 1TB internal storage very soon, so would upgrade when there’s a chance. With that being said, I won’t really lose my sleep over not having mini-LED on iPad Pro any day. Good to have but not a must. The difference is not as dramatic as with and without ProMotion. (Man the iPhone 14 pro max screen looks and feels responsive compared to iPhone XS max)
still selling Wifi-only iPad Pros, when GPS+cellular should have been the base standard for Pros years ago.
And there would be tons of people yelling at comment section screaming “reeeeeee I don’t need cellular why need to pay cellular reeeeee”. You just can’t win sometimes.

I'm hopeful Apple has a surprise in store for us. A brighter 11" Pro answered by MiniLED, is highly desired for the flight deck where the sun tends to wash out the screen.

Wonder why mini-led wasn't implemented yet, or better yet OLED. I find the 12.9" too big, the 11 inch is perfect for me so probably won't be getting the better display.

M2 while M1 isn’t even being taken advantage of. Kind of crazy but I guess they have to release something. Can’t rely on camera upgrades as a selling point as much as they do on iPhone.

I am sure most devs develop their apps with the last available (oldest) iPad in mind. Can’t have a laggy app on the entry iPad and risk bad AppStore reviews
Oh well, my genshin impact already drops frames hard when playing on my M1 iPad Pro with extreme setting and 60fps. I consider myself able to take full advantage of that. M2 would be no difference.
Sounds like you have a defective iPhone or defective eyes. Might want to see someone about that.
Sounds like you may consider leaving those folks with eye issues alone. You might never suffer the same issue, so why not just paying some basic respects?
Is it the supply chain issue that is causing several of these lackluster updates? I'm getting a lil nervous and disappointed in Apple.
Supply chain issue has been felt by folks wanting to get MacBook Pro 14” and 16” for over a year now. You can consider that a factor. And there’s very little they can do, even if Tim Cook magically built all manufacturing factories in the USA instantly right now.

Long live the 2018 iPad Pro!

In all seriousness, this just makes the iPad lineup super confusing. The gap between the air and the 11” pro is way too small. Adding the mini LED would have given a good reason to upgrade but at this point, it seems like we will be waiting for the M3 generation for a true next gen iPad Pro.

It’s already been too confusing. I am a longtime Apple user and I couldn’t begin to tell you an iPad name and corresponding size. Aren’t there 5 or 6 models now, some only an inch larger than the other? It’s very stupid and too much choice is probably crippling iPad sales overall.

Why would anyone buy an 11” iPad Pro over an iPad Air? $200 for an extra camera and Face ID is ridiculous.
Look at the storage. The Air is at 64GB base, and the sole available jump is to 256 for $150. Meanwhile going with the base Pro gets you 128GB and it’s only a $200 jump.

See how I said “only?” That’s why anyone buys a Pro.

I know nobody wants to hear it but side by side except for certain content I often have a hard time noticing the mini-led difference. My family thinks I’m insane for being able to see any difference whatsoever.
All you have to do is pull up anything with a black background. Instead of real black like on OLED or mini-LED, you will see gray. Once one gets used to OLED TVs and iPhones, black levels on LCD displays are quite the eyesore.

Maybe only the 12.9” will get the chip upgrade? Seems odd that they wouldn’t upgrade the 11” display. Will the Pro iPads eventually be 12” and 14”? Maybe these Pro iPads will be able to run a Mac-style OS, and the regular iPads will stick with iOS/iPadOS?

I was planning to go back to the 11” iPad Pro (from my 2021 12.9) but not now.

It’s fantastic when watching videos, a downgrade for everything else. I had to stop use black backgrounds in all of my applications that are text based because of blooming.
Just turn the brightness down. Blooming is an optical illusion. You can see this by covering up the bright white text with something like a coin.

Yeah, it works for me because I have a lot fewer apps on my iPad than iPhone and I just stream my cloud library. But tablets shouldn't be sold with 64gb in the year 2022, lol
I have the 64GB 2018 model and my iPad insists on constantly filling the storage because my iCloud message library is larger than 64GB. That is the only reason I have been waiting for new iPads to come out (and mini-LED of course, which we are not getting on the 11” apparently).
While I’d like higher base storage, for many users 64 GB is sufficient, given iCloud and streaming.

So having iCloud unfortunately does not negate the need for local storage, even though it should.

Honestly, I think there’s more to get excited about with the next 10.9 inch entry level iPad than there is with the iPad Pro.

Well at least the 11” has a flicker free screen, and even if I don’t suffer from the effects of pwm, I’m sure it’s not healthy looking at such screens for long hours.

Yeah, the blooming isnt visible if you lower the brightness to the same level as oled displays. Thats the only thing i didnt like about my old oled tablet, lack of brightness. Personslly I dont mind the blooming, i love high brightness
