I hear you. You can reverse engineer the price by multiplying GST by 11
I can hear them crunching numbers on their currency converters right now ;) Yeah it's the BTO upgrade costs that have me scared though haha.

New Screens! Anyone know the color space???

So this update clicked all the checkboxes I had in mind to move up from my mid-2011 iMac including the new P3 display tech. I haven't seen a single good review (Ars, Verge, Engadget) comment on the new color space. Anyone know how well it matches up to Adobe RGB?

Also, any thoughts on the video card options?

So seeing as we know what we are getting does anyone have any thoughts on the optimum configuration?

What improvement are we likely to see with a 395X compared to a 395 or 390?

This is why I need to wait for reviews. The M390X is suppose to be a rebadged M295X. Who knows what the hell an M390 or M395 is. M380? Forget it. However, if the M390 and M395 turn out to just be derivatives of the M295X, then the M390 would be the best bang for the buck.

The $1999 model is actual worth it now because you get Fusion standard. You can also choose the i7 6700K on $1999 model as well.

Help me out guys..

I'm getting the I7 4.0GHZ, but im not sure if I get 256 or 512SSD and if I upgrade to the 395X or if I stay with the 390.

Mostly Lightroom editing RAW images.. I will upgrade myself the RAM and I plan on getting a 5TB external HD

If you're getting a 5Gb external I personally would do 256 flash, its what I'm going to do.

Probably placing an order later today. I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaalllllly hoping they didn't change the 27" to where the RAM is non-user serviceable. I need 16 GB (for VMs) but am not paying $180 for the upgrade. I'm going to kick myself if I get the 8 GB and find the door on the back has been removed.

IMHO disappointing.
- CPUs look either Broadwell or the same Haswell (still DDR3 memory).
- No SSD by default. SSD part in a fusion drive is even less ? Could it be they moved to an actual hybrid HDD, like the Seagate ?
- Still TB2
- Still USB3, no type-C
- R39x = R29x at higher clock ?
- Still using really slow 2.5" laptop drives (5400 RPM) in the 21.5" model.

Looks like my 5K retina iMac "2014-edition" is not that far behind.

Still, will probably order the new keyboard and mouse. Happened already a few times that my mouse suddenly lost connection (the infamous battery placement issue).

Can someone ask the apple store chat if the new iMacs support target display? I would do it but it's midnight in Australia and the chat is unavailable out of business hours

Ram is still accessible. Tech specs page says: "1867MHz DDR3 memory; four user-accessible SO-DIMM slots" :)

I checked that too, spec says "User accessible - configurable to 16GB or 32GB" ...phew!

They are saying faster SSDs (up to 2.5x) this will like them up with the ones in the MacBook pros

I just put my top spec 2014 iMac 5k up for sale.

Ah, now that I see how easy it is to upgrade the RAM myself, that takes one more decision away from configuring a purchase.

I don't do any work that is especially resource-intensive, so I'm thinking the middle-of-the-line (3.2 GHz) 27" would suit me fine, then I could dedicate the funds I have for upgrading to the storage, like the 512gb SSD.

Don't mind me, just thinking out loud here...
