Sorry but that's one of the main complaints in this 36 page thread, no product, no communication, no refunds (largely) from Polysoft.
 
Its great that you can fix this yourself, I would hate to try this on my own. I've not done any soldering since high school, so I'd be afraid to perform the surgery.
You're right, I haven't touched a soldering iron since college, but these connectors these days are so thin, and it really didn't take much to break it. Now I've taken it in for repair, and obviously they've made a fuss. We'll see how much it costs.
 
I've been lurking this thread for a while.
A few weeks ago I gave up hope on the Polysoft and ordered the FANGYUAN, which didn't work. It was getting NAND errors.
In the process of getting refunded for that, but I just randomly got communication this morning from Polysoft and I got a tracking # a few mins ago.

Ok, it actually started moving, so it wasn't one of those "use bad tracking # to delay claims" moves. Looking forward to not constantly shuffling data around from local to NAS.

Happy to see that he got his act together to ship something however considering that only happened now and you ordered that early all others seem to still be very far out. Hope things will be alright when they arrive for you.

Update on my case — refund received 💳


Got a popup from my bank showing a movement from Polysoft of +999€, then it disappeared — but I did get a message from Gilles confirming he reimbursed me. Money should appear in 48 next hours.


Not sure if it was the registered letter I sent, or the fact that my legal protection service took over the case and contacted Polysoft directly — but at this point, I’m just relieved to have the refund and finally be able to move on.

I was honestly just waiting for this to go through so I could place my replacement order on AliExpress 😅

Wishing good luck to those still waiting. Stay persistent — pressure seems to help.
 
Seems like Gill is sending a few old orders just to show activity and get more pre-orders. Better to buy from AliExpress — they have ready stock and ship in about 10 days.
Yeah, it's a real shame. Quality product in the end, and I'm super excited for all the extra space, but I would not recommend this particular roller coaster to anyone else.

An optimistic view would be that Gilles has eventually managed to resume operations and is clearing his backlog of orders—which stands at seven months.

I cannot dispute your conclusion.

Today i got refund from my Bank. I still dont recommend any one to order from Polysoft.
I hope every one will get their money back!

To this day, i have 0 issues with the Chinese Storages. We have 9 of them now installed and every Studio running perfectly.

PS: for god sake, people who order from china or other vendors, use washer! you will create micro cracks on your storage units! the screws are not same as the one from Apple!!

That's such a ridiculous claim to make...

Is that so? If you were lurking this thread, why didn't you place your order details on the list then? I would be very frustrated if i ordered way back and nothing came to me. So, Polysoft, stop acting.

I finally got reimbursed today.

Funny thing is… I already ordered the same SSD from AliExpress two days ago, paid €130 more, but at least the package is already on its way.


What probably helped:

  • I sent a registered letter (lettre recommandée)
  • I filed a complaint on SignalConso (French consumer protection platform)

Honestly, if I had known all this earlier, I would have just bought directly from AliExpress. Too much stress and effort for this thing…




By the way — even a bootable disk probably won’t work unless you use Apple Configurator via DFU mode, from another Mac… right?

J'ai enfin été remboursé aujourd'hui.

Le plus drôle, c'est que… j'ai déjà commandé le même SSD sur AliExpress il y a deux jours , j'ai payé 130 € de plus , mais au moins le colis est déjà en route .


Ce qui a probablement aidé :

  • J'ai envoyé une lettre recommandée (lettre recommandée)
  • J'ai déposé une plainte auprès de SignalConso (plateforme française de protection des consommateurs).

Franchement, si j'avais su tout ça plus tôt, j'aurais acheté directement sur AliExpress . Trop de stress et d'efforts pour rien…




Au fait, même un disque de démarrage ne fonctionnera probablement pas à moins d'utiliser Apple Configurator en mode DFU, depuis un autre Mac… n'est-ce pas

He's not a shill account from Polysoft. Den-Fi originally posted as "Den (Not Forum User)" on the order tracking spreadsheet a few weeks ago, presumably before registering an account here. The order date and drive kit size from the initial spreadsheet entry align with what he reported receiving this week.

I've been keeping close track of the sheet and taking regular captures of it to look for evidence of tampering. I'd be the first to call it out if I thought there was something suspicious here, but I don't believe there is.

I only sought out this thread after communication with Giles suddenly stopped. I did a backorder that had no stated fulfillment date, so I wasn't really worried since he was communicating well. I was searching Reddit to see if anyone else was having issues when he stopped answering, then someone linked this thread here. I watched it for a while, then I saw the spreadsheet link and added my info (idk if this forum software has the ability to add pinned notes, but if it does I recommend that). I saw the AliExpress alternative being posted with positive results and I ordered that.

That arrived and I attempted to install it, but was getting NAND errors. I am not unfamiliar with the process as I've done many 256GB->2TB M4 Mini kits from other sellers and have gotten duds. I reached out to the seller and he was helpful in giving me troubleshooting steps until he got to a point where he felt a refund was the best option. So that is where I stand with that. I don't find anything wrong with that because I've seen how easy that is to come across in watching some dosdude1 vids. So mentioning it wasn't "bashing" the seller, he is doing the right thing with a refund.

Well, if you intend not to take receipt of Polysoft because you've already moved on due to his lack of communication, you could always refuse delivery of the shipment. He shouldn't have shipped once notice was made that the refund was being sought, at least without communicating with you beforehand.

Or you could just resell it? Which drive model did you order, and (just out of curiosity) what was your order date?
