I used iUP a few times until ACMI came along. It’s very easy to use since it’s just a purchase on the AC. Trade in value is taken right off the top without waiting to send back the old device. (I can’t remember if that was true for iUP or not.) I can still choose to pay off early if I want. It’s very convenient.
Sorry, what is ACMI?

I look at it a little differently. Apple doesn’t owe anyone, anything. There wasn’t any sort of guarantee, regardless of the time you placed that order, that you/anyone was entitled to launch day delivery.

I was in the 9/25 crowd and less than 12 hours later got notification that I was bumped to 9/19. Was I happy, yes, but it wouldn’t have mattered either way.

Look, every year people place orders, get certain dates and end up having them bumped up. Pretty common that Apple under promises and over delivers in many cases.

I would bet that people with 9/25 date will have their phone on 9/19.

Just offering a different perspective.
No problem. I respect your perspective. As a business owner, I actually do owe my customers—delivery of service with consistency and fairness, whether explicit or implied, and when I mess up, cleaning up my mess.

What do you lose doing that? Fitness data? iMessages? Nothing at all? I was thinking about it, too. I don’t mind setting up some stuff or downloading apps. I just don’t want to lose any data.
I think you will lose most of the data for things. Simple stuff like contacts and photos restore, but messages and all that I believe will be lost in Davy Jones' locker.

Im going to trade in my Iphone 16 Pro Max 256 Gig Titanium towards the Orange 256 Gig Pro Max. Problem is i get paid early next month and i dont do trade in's by mail. Come Early October do you think there will be enough in stock for me to walk into my not so local Apple Store and just do the trade in, or would i best be off waiting until November? At the latest i want do it by Janurary!

Genuinely curious.

Apple never made a sort of promise regarding delivery times. So how did they “mess up”?

I will agree, I think they had a mistake telling people intially they had 9/25 date(I am no expert, but wonder if it was a simple issue. Giving 9/25 date instead of 9/19) I remember seeing that after I placed my order and thought it was odd. Never seen Apple give a specific date other than a release date…normally if you aren’t getting on release day you will get a date range.

I wasn’t worried about the six day difference and went on about my day. Got notification less than 12 hours later that I would get on 9/19.

Love my Apple products. I have owned every iPhone ever made and aren’t afraid to say I camped out many times before preordering started!

Either way, I am glad people will get their phones on 9/19 who feel they deserved that day.

Appreciate the dialogue!

You just need to look around - check your carrier and places like Best Buy as you can also do the carrier trade in credit with them.

Apple ships via UPS. If you ordered from a carrier it’s likely FedEx.
Admittedly, it's been 4 years since I last ordered my 13 pro max direct from the Apple Store. At that time, it was shipped FEDEX and I was stunned it went from China to Alaska to US east coast in 1 day. I again ordered directly from Apple. Should I now expect UPS to ship instead?

Last year mine came via FedEx, every year that I have gotten new iPhones I’ve purchased through apple and it always comes FedEx. So I don’t know what that’s necessarily about. I’m in the Midwest so though so maybe it’s region specific which carrier is used?

And these have been launch-day devices? Everything I’ve ever ordered through Apple has been through FedEx, besides launch day iPhones, which have been through UPS since at least the 5S. I’ve also never seen anybody post on here about a launch day iPhone coming through FedEx if it was bought directly from Apple

Maybe there's no hard and fast rule. I always order launch day as soon as the store opens, and the shipment has been FEDEX every time. Also, every time, FEDEX will leave the package on my door without signature, but yet if I get a watch band, or name any accessory under $100 US, then they want a signature.

My current status is preparing to ship.

I have found Citizens One app exceptionally good and easy to navigate. Can’t you pay it off on their app? I’ll answer my own question. I just went to their app and pulled up my account. It was easy to find the option to payoff the outstanding balance.
Agree......I've used them on my last 4 iPhone orders.
Zero issues and easy to use.
