I don’t do it myself, since the nearest store is about 90 minutes away and my wife works from home. With UPS deliveries, a signature is usually required, and not everyone is around to sign. Some people also don’t feel comfortable leaving a package outside until they get back. For others, it’s all about having it in hand by 8 a.m. on release day, because waiting just isn’t an option. Some like posting on social media that they got their phone early, while others want to set up their new device right at work so it’s ready to use instead of waiting until they’re home.

You’ll even see people pulling all-nighters, tracking their phone’s flight from China to Alaska on FlightAware. For some, it’s almost like waiting for a newborn to arrive. I stop by this forum because I get a kick out of watching how over the top the excitement can get. Some people get genuinely upset if the phone isn’t on their doorstep at 8 a.m. sharp, and a few even demand compensation. Others have full-on panic attacks if there’s a delivery hiccup and they don’t get their phone exactly when they want it. Definitely first-world problems.

Yup same I come to those forms every year even if I am not upgrading to see the chaos lol.

Yep... 17 Pro Deep Blue. :)

Showing the 9/25 delivery date like others are reporting. Hopefully it moves up to 9/19.
That sucks. I got my Orange for 9/19 delivery this morning.

I have a theory why some models are showing delivery on the 25th and that is Apple is going to select slower shipping methods instead of Next Day Air to save on costs to make up for the lackluster sales IPhones have recently had. I could be totally off here, but it’s the only logical reason I can come up with for orders placed the second the App Store opened. Stores have inventory on the 19th because it doesnt cost Apple as much to ship a whole back to a single location.

Question: Does anyone know if you cancel your IUP order can u immediately place a new one using it. I preordered but just like everyone else the shipping date is 9/25 and it says the same one is available for pick up on the 19th. I don’t want cancel my order if I won’t be able place a new one right away.

I am on the iUP. Does anyone know if I will have to turn in my 16 Pro when I pick up my new phone at the store? I've heard I can come back later to drop it off. I prefer being able to set up on my own terms in case of any glitches or issues with the restore

I did that once. Citizens told me it needed at least 24 hours to fully process before a new order can be completed

Fairly certain you can not place another order immediately. Others have said you have to wait a day or so.

Last year’s Apple Store fun!

yes, it’s too soon. It can take a while before you can cancel.

thank you, maybe it's because that order was for in-store pickup, currently the status is still showing "Order Placed". the 2nd order i placed which was for shipping already showing "Processing" status and there is an option to cancel.

It would make sense but it never takes 6 days for a package to get delivered even with ups ground

It seems like this year they havegiven preferred treatment to those who are paying in full rather than installments. Seems odd that you can order one straight out with an early ship date but if you use IUP or other carrier installment plans you seem to get a later date

Not what I'm seeing at least on a 512 Silver Pro when I choose that option. This morning I did get the 25th date, but on the website now it shows 19th

Because I live 5 minutes from an Apple Store and can be in and out vs waiting for UPS.
Because I live in a rural area where my UPS driver refuses to drive or walk to my front

I don't think so. I was told by the Apple management team that it takes 24 hours for the IUP to "reset". And you'd have to re-apply for a Citizens One loan if you're going through them as the approved loan only applies to the phone you already ordered through the IUP.
