Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

I ordered 3 4S's through Verizon's b2b business site (2 new lines, 1 upgrade), and all three are still showing an expected shipping date of 10/21 :(

Here you go. some questions i saw and some i didn't see here. sorry for the length:)


Melanie: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Nathan: I preordered an Iphone 4s 32gb black and got a confirmation email saying expect delivery by 10/14 but everytime i check order status it says ship date is 10/14. Which is it and will i get a shipping tracking number
Melanie: Because of a very high demand for that phone the phone will be shipped out at a later date.
Nathan: so the email you sent 10/7 at 130 am is inaccurate?
Nathan: it was ordered within 10 minutes of preorder start time
Melanie: It was correct, however I'm not sure why it was changed.
Nathan: so will you guys be sending shipping tracking numbers
Melanie: The order confirmation number that you received will allow you to track it.
Nathan: thats the same number fed ex uses?
Melanie: It sure is.
Nathan: are you able to give me updated information if i provide the preorder confirmation number?
Nathan: like maybe an expected ship date?
Melanie: We can see if it has left the warehouse.
Nathan: 9175xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Nathan: sounds great
Melanie: Thank you
Melanie: Do you mind if I send you a link for it?
Nathan: please anything is better than the order tracking that you access from your home page

Nathan: yeah all it says is order received and processing. expected ship date is 10/14

Melanie: The link that I'm about to send you will let you know if it has left our warehouse.
Nathan: sounds great
Melanie: May I have the zip code of the area that you are currently in?
Nathan: 9XXXX
Melanie: Thank you
Nathan: no problem
Melanie: I'm trying to get it to come up for you.
Melanie: I do apologize however we are currently not able to pull it up.
Nathan: so does the fed ex site work with whether it has left your warehouse?
Melanie: Me and another rep tried to pull up the information from both our system and their website and we wasn't able to.
Nathan: and what info do i need to have? Your shipper account #?
Melanie: You will need the order confirmation number.
Nathan: that is the 16 digit preorder confirmation number i got on my confirmation email right
Melanie: That is correct.
Nathan: You have no internal information about shipping right?
Melanie: Are you referring to if it has left our warehouse?
Nathan: yes?
Melanie: It hasn't left yet.
Melanie: I was able to get it.
Nathan: ok thank you very much for your time

I think that rep had no clue what she was talking about, i dont think ANY of the reps know what there talking about.
 
So, are the Verizon preorders from Verizon's site and Apple all on the same page?

None of us have gotten shipping information or anything like that? Correct?

I'll be less pissed if I don't have my phone 10/14 if both preorders are late. Else I'll just be kicking myself that I didn't order from Apple.

most apple pre orders shipped but they are coming from china. verizon usually ships from the US.

I ship a bit of stuff through fedex at my job and the tracking numbers have the same amount of numbers as the preorder confirmation. Im not saying anything but the rep said i can check fedex with that number.

I tried that and just got an error. But that's not to say that it wouldn't be the correct number when it actually ships, but I don't see how Verizon could have generated that number that far in advance of the shipment.
 
So, long story short, Verizon botched my shipping address during the pre-order over the phone, today I call to get them to change it, 3 problems arise.

1) The first rep said there was no way to change the shipping address, then said, "this is about the droid right?" :eek:

2) second rep couldn't even find the order, argued that there was no order placed what so ever

3) third rep claimed i would have to cancel the order and re-order it, but would lose my spot in the "lines" for preorders.

so after speaking to the higher up, they said they would cancel the order and we got a new one ordered, and they said they would honor the ship date that the first one had.

my question to you all, does this seem like a load of bs from the support people that i'll get it at the same time as my previous order?

i secretly think so. :( i wish i didn't have to cancel the order but the shipping address was wrong and wouldn't have made it to me anyways :(

Ordered from Apple, still Preparing for Shipment. 32gb for me.

EDIT: Popped up on UPS :cool:

I'm going to say low. I'm reading its going to be either 2 day shipping or overnight shipping. So I would guess Wednesday at the earliest, and thursday at the latest HOPEFULLY. I just hope Verizon doesn't mess up the preorders and actually deliver on the 21st.
 
Yeah, it kinda sucks the way Verizon is handling all of this. AT&T, Apple, and Sprint customers are all getting charges, shipment notifications, or tracking numbers and we're getting left in the dark with a good chunk of people unsure on whether they're getting the phone on release day. My order status says ships on the 14th, but the email says receive on the 14th. What gives? Verizon representatives are totally clueless and have no information on what's going on. Also they've got the whole AppleCare+ thing going on too.

I'm not freaking out here, just a little frustrated that a company I'm willing to throw tons of money at in the coming years doesn't know what's going on with my purchase.

I dunno, I think I just need to go to sleep.

It is a simle question and it even has a simple answer, but if you would have bothered to read the thread at all, you could have found out the info within the first few pages.

Nothing against you, but EVERYONE has been asking that same question over and over and over and over and..... you get the idea. I'm sure the answer is just about on every page now. :D
