Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

ordered all my 3 at around 3:30am on the 7th. Got my confirmation around 5 the same morning. Orders still say shipping by the 14th
I'm not sure if this is true for the 32 and 64gb versions...I ordered a 32gb Saturday morning at 4am and I'm listed as 10/21 in order status.

Well my best guess at this point is everyone that ordered early friday get shipping notifications on Wednesday with FedEx/UPS two-day for delivery on Friday. Seem the most likely.

I'm glad you guys mentioned that you haven't been charged yet. That made me nervous because both of my bank accounts were compromised and they sent out new cards - but this was just before that and VZW said the order went through. I was concerned they reversed the charges without asking me. Mine says ship date 10/14. Which makes me antsy because I'd like delivery on 10/14, not shipping. But having read through some of the comments - it seems like delivery is expected on that day.
I ordered mine at about 12:15am on 10/7 through the vzw site because Apple's wasn't working for me.
This is my first iPhone - coming from a Droid 1 which I love. But I'm looking forward to easy syncing with iTunes - and compatibility with my car stereo through an ipod connector rather than a 1/8" jack!

I placed my upgrade order directly at my local Verizon store on Friday at 11:30...

I have had every iPhone on launch day since the 1st iPhone. I'll be a little pissed if I don't get this one on the 14 because I made the decision to switch to Verizon. I ordered it through the business site, so maybe that's why mine isn't updated yet.

No...I do...and there are a few others that have posted the same status. I called CS on Friday and was told everything looks good with my order. The Rep said the credit check was fine...so he couldn't explain why the status was what it was.
If my status doesn't change by noon Tuesday...I'm calling again to ensure delivery of my new 64GB iPhone 4S...

That is EXACTLY why I am so anxious as well. I used my card, but since I am on the family plan, I had to upgrade under my husbands account since he is marked as the head of the account.
When he called them to see if there was a way to change it, they said no and just said that if it doesn't go through, I will have to contact my card company. Problem with that is my phone will probably go to someone else in the meantime. I was running some errands with my buddy today and we got talking about the iPhone. We just happened to be near a VZW store so having nothing better to do, we decided to roll in because a kid I graduated high school with is the store manager. I'm wasn't/am not very good friends with him but my buddy knows him better than me. We asked him to tell me everything he knew about the iPhone 4S and this is what he told me.
All stores have been told they will have their phones delivered to the store through Fed-Ex or UPS by Thursday night. How many each particular store is getting is still a mystery even to the store manager. He said that they are being allocated based strictly on store revenue..nothing else. Those are the only facts he knows.
He's also "heard" stuff but like you hearing this from me, its validity is up in the air. He's heard that all VZ online orders are being shipped stateside through BOTH UPS and Fed-Ex and directly from VZ. If you were lucky enough to be in the first batch then the current plan is to have them delivered to you ON 10/14. He said that he's heard rumblings that as of today, VZ didn't have a single iPhone in their possession and they're enroute to various regional distribution centers. It is from there that they will be first distributed to the stores and whatever quantity they set aside for online preorders will then be packed up and sent to customers.
So I'm expecting to get a tracking number either wednesday or thursday. Take all that for what it's worth.

Hmm interesting. When I called them, since I have a similar problem, they told me it doesn't matter about the name and that it shouldn't affect it. At least that's what I am hoping for.That is EXACTLY why I am so anxious as well. Nice link. Since when you go to change payment it doesn't ask for your name I'm not going to bother re entering my information.
Will changing the shipping address delay my order?
When i placed my order (around 3:10 am eastern time) i couldnt ship to a business address. I am leaving town on Fri morning and returning Tues. I called Verizon later that morning and was advised i could change the address after the order was process?
I am wondering if i change the address will it delay my order? The other question i have is can i have the package held at the FEDEX shipping facility and pick it up Friday morning ( instead of it going out on the truck)? Anyone with experience with this?

Preorder + Credit Check/Deposit Notice?
Hey I preordered online at VZW and my status page says they've received and in process, etc etc.
But what I want to know is before when I quoted iP4 back in March-ish 2011 they wanted $400 deposit (around iPad2 Launch)
Since iPad 2, I've had a prepaid account with VZW and haven't stopped since (auto-paid every month) incase this matters.
I have not received any notice by email or phone that I would be required to pay a deposit.
If I need to pay despot:
- Do they tell you this by email right after ordering (within a few hours)?
- Do they tell you when you complete your order? or,
- Do they tell you this by email or otherwise just before they ship and hold shipment until a decision has been made?
When do they do the credit check? I don't know if having a 'good-standing' account with another device would count because it was a prepay, or if that even affects it all. When I tried ordering iP4 before and demanded deposit, I hadn't done any business with VZW in the past at that time.
I'm just nervous they'll delay shipment and I don't want to call them incase they 'made a mistake' and then change their decision.
Please report if you were asked for deposit (I don't care how much)
P.S. My credit has gotten slightly better since, but only slightly, IMHO not enough for VZW to not require deposit.
