RxMac does have every right to be upset, that question been asked on EVERY page of this thread. By golly I could have two dollars in nickels for every time that has been asked haha.
Pre-ordered Verizon 32gb Black through Apple and just got my tracking information. Left China today and on it's way!
Ordered a Verizon 32GB Black iPhone direct from Apple.com and it still says "Processing Items" for the phone. Oddly the Applecare+ item is marked as "Complete". Is anybody else seeing this? I would think that by now all orders would at least be in the preparing for shipment stage.

So, like everyone else on this thread I initially was putting in my order number instead of my pre-order number. I called verizon yesterday because i was freaking out that my order did not go through and I got a hold of my rep. They told me my order was fine and I had nothing to worry about. I asked about the ship date on when I should receive it and the Verizon rep mentioned to me that there was a good possibility of receiving it early. Like everyone has said no one can take wha the verizon reps say seriously but I am trying to be opptimistic and hope for the best!!

I talked to a supervisor within the online sales department today. This is what she said with 100% certainty.
Everyone who has an expected "ship date of 10/14" on their pre-order status will have their phones sent out on Thursday, 10/13 via Fed-Ex overnight.
This is the most concrete answer I've seen. I had to call on an unrelated issue so she didn't seem to pissed off talking to another iPhone customer and she said that when most people call, they call the general customer care number which unfortunately don't deal with online sales and therefore don't always have "up-to-date" information. In other words, VZW has no communication between their departments.
I can finally stop checking my bank statement and order status everyday.

Yea, I've seen that before. When I had Droid X. Ordered it on the launch day then few hours later, got the tracking # from fedex. It arrived the next day.
Good to know! finally someone got through to someone who relatively knew what they were doing!
I called this morning about the billing question; my guy was less helpful. he told me that one of them had been processed and was shipped, and the other one was pending! I ordered them 3 minutes apart... I went to look online and they were both still "We received your order and it is in process." told him about it and he was like "oh right! do you want me to cancel your order?"
NO!

This is true, as I bought my Iphone 4 from Verizon in February. Got up early and my order number was in the top 1000. Received it 2 days before release!
Now with that being said LOOK at your order number....... That gives you the priority. Mine now is in the 17000's which is still pretty good as I got in the site 10 minuets before they said they were opening and got to order it. It doesn't matter if you went apple or Verizon.... look at your order number!
Mine is 6113 so besides it having the unlucky 13 in it, Im hoping it is all good.

I ordered at 1:55am CDT (11:55pm PDT), 5 minutes before pre-order was supposed to go live and my order number is also in the 17000's. I'm thinking order number must not have anything to do with how fast you ordered your phone.
Are you still thinking it's going to arrive on the 14th?? I'm pretty skeptical now,
Wow....I ordered at about 5:30am (Eastern time) from the Verizon Wireless website and my order number is 977775. Could they have sold that many???

Yea, I'm thinking the order number has no correlation with how many phones were sold.

Do your homework, it is exactly the number
it is the color and the size of the phone, it will give you the priority of the phone u purchased! as i said i went with the white 16gb

i was told the same thing last friday. i wish we could track our orders like you can if you order thru apple. i always liked watching it leave china - arrive here and then get stuck at the local distribution center - made me feel like i was following a friend coming home (i know its only a phone! - you don't have to tell me).
well, my preorder check page changed! now displays my order number with a shipping information row. the row has an expand button, and has the courier and tracking number blanked out. The status is shown as "Your pre-order will deliver by 10/14/2011".
