The woman wasn't sure, so she had to go off.. and 'research it'. Going to email me back. As of now I have two shipping dates; one says 10/28, and the other (and her) says it looks like it's pushed back to 11/4.

This is just craziness. I can't believe a company can be so incompetent to not match the # of products received to the # of products shipped. It just seems a complete mess.

That's insane. Makes you wonder what goes on over there. Which model phone did you order again?
 
I ordered the 16GB Black 4S.

Very, very upset with VZW. Apparently there was a billing issue; the lady who made the pre-order put the company name on the credit card, not my personal one. Her mistake.

And, because of this mistake my order went into hold and others basically stole my place. I was thrown to the back of the line, with a new date of 11/4. I'm disgusted. We pay over a thousand bucks a month to VZW for this? Makes me want to move carrier. They failed to meet the shipping date of 10/28, or even contact me to say there was a problem - I only realized when *I* took the effort to call them to ask why the shipping date was mixed up.

Totally screwed up; they are running around like a headless chicken. I can see why companies like this end up going down the drain eventually.

That really sucks man, I feel for ya. If I were you, I'd just head over to an Apple store and pick one of (if there are any nearby?). Once you have it in your hands, go ahead and cancel your VZW order. They have to cancel it as long as it isn't shipped out yet.

I haven't gotten a tracking # yet. They charged my card, and I didn't think it was "preorder" anymore.
But this late in the day, with no tracking # , I don't think the phone is showing up tomorrow :(

I wouldn't worry just yet ... a major shipper like VZW will definitely have a pretty late cutoff time at FedEx. If you're sure your card's been charged it's a very good sign.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat ALTHOUGH with next day Amazon Prime I've ordered things at around 7:30 PM EST (sometimes the cutoff for next day shipping) and would receive no update before going to bed.

When I woke up I'd get a shipment confirmation at about 3:30 AM and the package would arrive with UPS at around noon.

I gotta cancel my subscription to this thread because I have a mini heart palpitation every time my GMail goes to GMail (X+1).


I'm so excited for this phone.. my last iPhone was a 3G and it was so underpowered for all it's potential and I've been in blackberry land for the past year and a half or so and while it has worked GREAT and has amazing battery life, I would like a phone that does more things well.

Did they charge your Credit card today, along with the order status changing today too? Or was it yesterday?
 
I assume I was charged today because when I checked this morning the modify/cancel payment options were still available, and when I checked an hour or so ago they had been removed.

where do you find the modify payment option? Through the pre-order link or verizon order status link?
 
Hmm, when I go to that link, I don't see any option to modify payment. It also doesn't show an expected ship date either.....
Just says "Your order has been sent for processing." Along with Order # and Location #.

Maybe I'm not that far along in the process then? Sounds like I'm in limbo somewhere. But they charged my CC. This is so confusing?

I dunno.. I wish I could provide some better advice. I wasn't aware of the preorder status check until relatively recently.


I say just knock back some Nyquil and fall asleep and see where you stand in the morning.

Yeah, my status page never had the option to change the billing, either.

I've given up trying to second-guess them. That Nyquil idea is sounding better and better ...
