Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

Sounds like they're making progress finally! Tell them to hurry up!So I called again (they must hate me) to ask what's going on. It turns out it *is* billed to the account; he said that prohibition is only for consumer accounts. He also checked the status of the order and it says Paid, pending shipment. So that's 2x CSR's that have told me that. I suppose there's a consistency there. He sees 10/28 too. So maybe it'll ship out today?

The last day of waiting is definitely going to be the hardest.Well my phone was picked up by Fedex and is sitting 2 hours north of me..yet I won't have it for another 24 hours
This is frustrating. Can I just drive over to Fedex and get it myself? LOL

So is mine! I think all of Cali's shipments come from Ontario....it wouldn't surprise me if nevada got theres from ontario as well.
Edit - I forgot you're in Montana. Maybe the whole west coast gets their phones from Ontario?
Got my shipment notification, woo! Says it's due to arrive tomorrow before 3PM.

Nice!! They'll take it back and you can either pick up tomorrow night at the local fedex facility, or they'll attempt a delivery again the next day.

Mine's driving around the city in a van somewhere en route here... hopefully in the next few hours!
Just got an email from Verizon that my phone shipped! It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow by 3pm.
In case this info helps others:
1. Ordered a black 64gb iPhone 4s on 10/15
2. Got an email with a preorder number with a ship by 10/28 date.
3. Around 10pm on 10/26, my status on Verizon went from processing order to the order number instead of the preorder number and had a blank field next to the tracking number.
4. At around 11am on 10/27 I got an email from Verizon saying my order has shipped with a tracking number. The tracking site listed delivery on 10/28 by 3pm. It's coming from TN to CA.
Just a note, when I logged in to check to see if my card had been charged yet, it hasn't. At least it's not coming up on my credit cards website yet. So, for some people whether or not your card got charged might not be a good indication of you status.

Mine arrived a couple of hours ago, and I'm up and running. I'm switching from Android, so I have some changes to get used to ... but in general I'm thrilled with the thing.

Yep, they're being shipped by FedEx overnight. I actually wasn't home when my phone was delivered, but I left a delivery authorization note on my front door with a signature, and they left the box for me.

Right now, I think there might be more of a learning curve coming from android then I'd initially anticipated. I keep looking for a "back" key to hit for example and there isn't one.
But it's only took me a couple of minutes to realize that I'd moved to a far superior phone environment. Everything runs much more smoothly, most of the apps are far better designed, and the phone has the most beautiful screen I've ever seen. Absolutely no regrets, at all.
Went to the store with my mom today to find out about getting an iPhone. They said that I would get put in a waiting list and the next shipment is probably gonna arrive on 11/4. My parents said they need to talk it over, but I think that tomorrow I'm gonna be able to go in and preorder one!
Yeah, there are definitely a few things I'm going to miss about Android ... a couple of the Google apps, and some widgets. But there were a lot of things frustrating me about Android, too -- the whole ecosystem there felt ragged and a little unstable, and though I like playing geek it was still getting frustrating and annoying.
The difference I'm experiencing is really night and day ... much more than I'd expected, and nearly all for the better.
Ordered one from Verizon store yesterday! 32 black. Should ship next Friday 11/4 and hopefully get it Monday!

The only main thing I miss, is not seeing contact thumbnails in Contact List or Messages app. That was just super handy and fast for me; not a fan of all the text
Everything else is great. I had an iPod Touch so the whole iOS is pretty familiar to me, but I just love it's whole App Store. Apps feel fluid and consistent. Me likey.

I jumped ship from AT&T.
I ordered with Verizon weeks ago but cancelled when I found out that Verizon iPhone couldn't talk and surf.
But after reading more reports about how Verizon's network is better and also several head to head tests to prove it, I decided to sacrifice the talk and surf and finally send AT&T to go fly a kite.
I went online at apple dot com and reserved a 16gb black. I pick it up at lunchtime.
I'll have both the new Verizon 4S and my existing AT&T 4 until I cancel the AT&T order AND contract.
