My order status has just changed to "Your order has been sent for processing." And my credit card has been charged! W00t!
This is the info i was able to dig up from the original iphone 4 launch with verizon. This is the system that was being used back in february, not sure if it works yet for i just had my credit card charged ten minutes ago.
Was hoping someone who was one of first charged can check to see if this is again system.

Just got off the phone with verizon for the phone on hold, and said that it was updated based on demand, nothing to do with the card. They didn't seem to know what they were talking about exactly..

My order status has just changed to "Your order has been sent for processing," and the ship to date disappeared. There is still a temp hold on my credit card for the phone.

AHhh you're kidding me. Is there any way around this? Can I call Verizon and arrange the delivery so a signature is not needed?
I know for UPS at least there is a form you can fill out and sign and leave for the driver to leave the package at your door. I thought someone also said they weren't doing that for iphones, though.
I don't know the procedure for fedex. just check their website.
With other FedEx orders in the past needing a signature, I've left a signed sheet taped to my door with the tracking number instructing the driver to leave the package at the door, and I've never had an issue with that.
Sadly not, but you can ask for a release from the driver by signing a Fedex doortag that they have available online. Unfortunately it is still up to the driver whether or not they leave it.
In my experience the best thing to do is to go to the Fedex website once you get the tracking number and ask for a hold at location, then you can pick it up at the Fedex center or Kinkos in your area on Friday when it is convenient for you.
