It has nothing to do with the phone itself. I already have an iPhone 4.

It's the fact that I preordered at 3AM so that I would specifically be first in line to receive Verizon's product on launch day. In fact, my confirmation email specially states that delivery will be made by 10/14/11.

So, if the phone does not make it then I will be very upset with Verizon.

I am a paying customer, so I am in entitled to receive what I was promised by a company.

It's only Tuesday Chief.
 
Wanted to post on the forums since I have been following this and checking my status every 30 minutes.

Within the past hour my credit card was charged and both my order status pages have updated with different information.

I ordered around 11:55 PST. White 32gb. I am located in Southern California.

Order number: 57xxx
Order location: W779001

My Email confirmation link shows that my order tracking is 66.74.xx.xxx, which is the same format as an IP address. Courier is MD2. Status: Your pre-order will deliver by 10/14/2011. Ship date: 10/07/2011

The other pre-order link posted in this thread shows my order has been sent for processing. Expected ship date is 10/21/11 with tracking and courier blank.

Placed my order for a Black 32GB at around 10:15 Friday morning. Status has just updated to say, "Your pre-order will deliver by 10/14/2011" and my account has been charged. No tracking info yet.

I am in the Birmingham, AL, area (Clay).
The order number was 1416xxx
The location code was 0862001

Hope that all helps others! Anxious to get my first iPhone! Been on a Blackberry Storm 1 for more than 2 years.

Blanks are really there for ship date and courier. I ordered a 16gb white around 3:30 am EST. I'm in Ohio! Hope that helps!
 
Out of curiousity, did anyone get the insurance for the 64 gig model? I bought it but thought it was odd that it was the same price as the 32version. Is the monthly premium the same, but the 64 have a higher deductable? Should I get applecare instead of the insurance? How do we even buy applecare if we wanted it?

Applecare can be purchased at the Apple Store or by calling the first 30 days. They are making an exception for the launch. Going forward, it has to be purchased at the same time.

I went with insurance instead of applecare for one big reason... apple care won't cover you if your phone is lost or stolen. Insurance will.

According to Verizon's Twitter there will be a special number to call tomorrow to add this. I've also been told from their online support that you can call Customer Service so I might tomorrow and maybe they will actually know something for once.
 
I just got billed....It looks like the order status page on VZW.com crashed:

"Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 302 Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

been on the storm 1 since the first week it was released. Had been waiting for the iphone 5 to come to verizon but the 4s will do. Just need to get rid of this POS.

Well steve, I'm not sure how you tend to balance your checkbook, but I prefer to have at least a general idea of when a business is going to process an order. Its not that I don't have enough money, I would just prefer to avoid an overdraft fee if for some reason rent is taken out of my checking at the same time as VZW.

Since I'll be out of town later this week (which is when either or both of these things could be taken out) I would just like to have an idea of how much funding to transfer and when, you know, to make sure that my checking account stays balanced.
 
So I got an e-mail from Verizon saying my order was on hold because my "card had expired." I called, they ran it through again and it worked.

So... what the hell. I'm now pretty sure I'm not getting it this Friday... and to think I was one of the first people to order this at 2:55 AM EST on pre-order day.

Sigh. :(

My order status has not been updated nor have I gotten any e-mails since my call a few hours ago. Really annoyed now...

been checking every few minutes, and nothing has changed. i haven't had any issues with VZW order status page being down. make sure you are entering the pre-order confirmation rather than the order number.

There actually is an issue with the site. The confusion is that there are two sites on which you can check the status. Both pull from the same database. The one that is working is:

The one that is not working is the one for which a link is provided in your order confirmation email.
 
Whew! Mine just charged. I was concerned because my bank account was compromised with that card, and was afraid my bank would reject the charges coming so many days after they issued me a new card. I ordered at about 12:15a PST. Order #26xxx on the track your order status on VZW.

please read the previous 22 pages of this forum...:rolleyes: everyone has had similar issues and has been reassured that if you pre-ordered by 5pm on the 7th, you will get your phone by this Friday.
