Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

same as everyone else now it seems, cc charged and order sent for processing with delivery by 10/14

im in ca and i ordered the white 32gb
 
are everybodies charge still pending?

on the two different order status methods i get two different status's one that my order has been sent for processing and one that my order will deliver on the 14th?

They are clearly having system issues, as their twitter account even said regardless of what the online system says, your email confirmation has the right date. The fact that they charged the card lets you know they are processing the order. Verizon has confirmed that they don't bill your card until they are ready to ship.

understood. Right now its all just a big guess though..Verizon reps have no idea whats going on
 
I just called apple since I do not have an update on my order beyond "processing", and they told me that only people who are having their items shipped from overseas will have an updated shipping status. Any phone which is being shipped from within the US will NOT have an updated shipping status.

The rep said that my phone will be shipping from Chicago, IL, and that it will DEFINITELY be arriving by the 14th.

Anyone have an idea how I can change the color of the phone I preordered? Can I just take my phone to the VZ store and exchange it on Friday if it gets to my house by then??

They won't let you do an outright swap. You will have to return it, pay the $35 restocking fee and hope they have a white in stock...
 
My status finally changed. Right on schedule for Friday arrival. I think it will come Thursday though.

I think you only have to pay a restocking fee if you've opened it. Could be wrong, but that's my recollection.

Now in terms of getting another color, that'll probably be more difficult to do immediately, as I doubt any of the stores will have stock of the iphone after the people line up on launch day. Best thing would probably be to just go return it for now and then after your account is updated, either go in when they get them in stock or order online.
 
Heh, now I'm getting nervous. I'm seeing people who've placed their orders well after me get the cards charged and status updated. Nothing for me yet. I ordered at about 7pm on 10/7. :apple:
 
Uh oh. Appears other West Coasters are being charged..

I have yet to be charged and my order is still being processed. However I ordered mine at around 8am PST. Maybe thats why?

Getting nervous..

I will never be more happy when I get a CapitalOne alert text telling me I've been charged $250.

If the card has been pinged it will ship within 48 hours. I have ordered hundreds of phones from Verizon and this has consistently been the case for me, at least. It's like standard company policy or practice.

I'm guessing everyone whose card has been pinged will see a tracking number by the time they wake up tomorrow morning...
 
So my VZW order status has changed like everyone else but my card hasn't been charged yet. Interesting.

I believe the cut off time was before 7pm EST.

That happened to me it took a while but eventually my available credit got dinged a couple hundred.

There are a bunch of variables as to when people are receiving their phones. I placed an order for an upgrade from Verizon at 4:25am Eastern time on the Verizon site after trying to get through on Apple's site for 30 minutes. Ordered the 32GB black.

Card was charged this morning. Also the shipping details pages looks different. Instead of just saying "in progress/process" it now says Courier: and Ship Date: with blanks next to each one.

First business customer I've seen to have a status update. Just checked my order status through the business site - now shows "COMPLETED" instead of "Awaiting Inventory" but still a ship date of 10/21. However, I just checked my CC and there's a pending charge from Verizon so I wouldn't be surprised if that shipping estimate is updated within the next few hours to 10/14.

Awesome! Frankly I'm very suprised to my status update and my credit card charged when I ordered early Saturday morning, NOT friday. My confirmation email said 10/14 but it always stuck with 10/21 for estimated.

Hopefully you are correct and because I was charged, I'm getting it Friday like everyone else.

I must not be part of that 6pm friday cutoff time or whatever because I ordered a 32gb?
 
I ordered on the verizon site at 3:00 am when it first came up , my card has just been charged.

The verizon status page has also changed. It shows a slot for the tracking number but no number yet.

My business order changed to "Completed" earlier today too (in CA) - billed to the account though, so I don't know if/when we were charged. These were two new lines - I have another order that is an upgrade, and it's still stuck in "Pending"... everything still shows a ship date of 10/21 though.
