Just got off the phone with VZW.

16GB white, fargo ND, vzw.com, 10/7 11:00AM CST. no tracking number, no email, no status change, no nothing.

There was some sort of error on my account (we changed from 1400 to 2000 mins this week on our fam plan, and it cause the preorder to hold). So they couldn't process the iPhone preorder until it was straightened out. After talking to a woman in the internet orders dept and her supervisor for about a half hour, they assured me they would do their best to get it to me by tomorrow.

Originally, they said monday delivery because of the mixup. I told them that I spent a ton of money on this phone, the least they can do is can get it to me on time, especially since someone should have noticed the error and notified me. they seemed to react well to that, and they are helping me fix it in the next half hour or so.

so if you haven't gotten anything by maybe 2:00PST, give them a ring, you never know if something's holding it up. one would think that they would call if there was an issue but.... i guess not.

I'll keep everyone updated as to how things are going on my end.

omg, it is BEAUTIFUL!!! the retina display looks even better than iPhone 4 (maybe it's just the anticipation lol)... man i can't wait for that moment!

i updated to OSX Lion and iCloud on my computer. My iPhone 3GS crapped out on me last sunday, so I am going without a phone until I receive my new 4S!

I'm in CA, and my phone has gone from Ontario, CA (southern Cal) to San Diego, and just landed in Kentucky! All just to comeback to CA?! I could've had my phone by now

WTF!

Mine did the same thing! Mine came within 4 miles of my house and now its in KY. ???

Mine departed from Louisville :)

So, for those keeping track of the So Cal UPS deliveries, they have taken the phones from Ontario, CA (which is conveniently in Southern California), shipped them to San Diego (also in So Cal, but a little odd...) and then flew them to Louisville. They will then be flown back to Southern California and, if we're being honest here, most likely back to Ontario.

If this makes monetary sense at all I would be shocked.

Yea. This process is so absurd.

It was from Ontario to San Diego (I live in SD, so I thought it made some sense).

But now, it says it arrived at KY.

What??

It's because the phones flew in from Alaska, No? Which would of meant they came from China. You can't just take a Package from china, to Alaska, then directly to San Diego. They need to be sorted.

Everything in UPS/FedEX/USPS has an operation, and it tightly organized. They'll have planes Going from Louisville to Cally on Purpose.

Many of the boxes on the plane are most likely going someplace else, Other than California. Everything gets taken to Kentucky for sorting. Then from there, There are flights, and trucks going to specific destinations.

I thought you guys meant Ontario, Canada.

First two notes - the phone is much faster.

However, I ran into a problem already - trying to restore backup from iCloud and got the "Cannot Restore Backup" message. No explanation. Guess I'll wait until I get home and just do it from iTunes!

But hey, I got the phone finally!

Got it to work - apparently in my excitement and haste I had typed in the wrong password. I backed out a few steps and re-entered Apple ID and password, and now it's restoring.

Got my confirmation/delivery email from Verizon about an hour ago. 16gb white shipping to Birmingham AL. Tracking information on FEDEX says will receive by 3:00 pm tomorrow!

WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!

I want my email too up in here in northwest Georgia. I hope mine says by 3:00PM, because I have to be at work at 4:00PM.

Have to tell you that the restore from iCloud for this new 4S is painfully slow...it's about 2/3 of the way complete, but it's taken almost 8 minutes to get this far...

The one thing about iCloud I don't like (so far) is that to back up the phone you have to 1) be plugged in to charge, and 2) be connected to Wi-Fi. I think this is just to back up the phone, most likely because it's so much data.

I'm soon to be fumbling through the new 4S - good thing it's lunch time here in California!

Anyone else gotten theirs yet?

I still haven't received my shipping notification and I had my preorder in within 7 minutes of them starting.

My wife and I are switching from AT&T. Any other switchers having issues? I feel like I'm better off just going in tomorrow morning and getting the phone!

I wish mine was coming FedEx instead of UPS. UPS tracking is so slow, and FedEx shows up at like 9 in the morning here. :D UPS is like 4 in the afternoon. :(

Same for me. It's part of Apple's Quality Assurance program. They're testing the phones with rough handling, numerous altitude changes and exposure to cosmic rays before delivering to the customer.

YAY!!! I did the reference number trick one more time and its being shipped FedEx Priority Overnight to be delivered by 4:30PM tomorrow.

Both of them show up around the same time here, usually FedEx is a little earlier. Oh well, hopefully my phone gets here before 3:30 tomorrow. Tons of people at work are already wanting to meet Siri and play around with it. So excited!

Anybody order on the 8th and get confirmation?

I think that I saw one person a few pages back that ordered around 4am on Saturday and has received shipping notification. But I'm not sure which model they ordered. If you ordered a 16GB, you'd probably have to wait at that hour. But if you ordered a 32GB or 64GB, you may still receive it.
