Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

Hi all. I just got my shipping email. It is going to be delvered tomorow. I ordered a 16 gb black on 10/7 at 7 pm! I guess i got lucky :)

I switched from AT&T - and kept my number... I rec'd the pre-order confirmation... but as of yesterday, nothing else (no tracking, no auth on my cc)... I called Verizon and it was explained to me that because I was switching and keeping my number - that the verification process takes longer... and I would get my tracking number by Thursday for Friday delivery. You probably will still get it today - I did finally this morning get the Fedex tracking number for overnight shipping/delivery tomorrow.

It still says expected ship date Oct. 21!!! I cant wait that long!

That's awesome! See, there still is hope! I firmly believe that it's a waiting game at this point. Verizon reps don't have a clue as to what's going on (the majority of them anyway).

Verizon is going to do their best to get AS MANY out for friday delivery as possible. And to those that are getting dates of 10/21, there is still a chance your package will be delivered on 10/14. However, if not, I think you will most likely get your device by monday 10/17.
 
Here's an odd one...restored from my iPhone 4 via iCloud...got it all set up. Then went to try out Siri....no Siri. It's just the same old "Voice Control".

Did I get another iPhone 4? This could be funny...

I'm switching two AT&T iPhones to Verizon. No problem so far. I'm supposed to get them tomorrow by 7PM.

Check the camera...although I don't think they would send you a 4. Not to mention you had the SIM card slot on the side and it is Verizon phone.

Ya exactly. Dont listen to verizon reps. These are some of the false things they told me.

-my phone will arrive 21st
-it will ship via fedex. No it is ups.

That is really weird I did a quick google and didn't see any problems. I guess you could try restoring it and not using your back up to see if that really is the problem? Or go to an Apple store today and see what they say, haha hopefully they don't take your phone!

Try doing a restore and setting it up as a new phone. If I remember right, people had this problem when going from a 3GS -> 4, where they set the 4 up from a backup and then once inside the OS didn't have MMS or FaceTime support. A restore definitely fixed those issues, try it this time around too.
 
My phones have been sitting in Memphis, TN. since last night. Hope they bring me a Graceland shirt.:rolleyes:
 
I know it's coming, but I wish I could SEE that it's coming. :(

Answer to the missing Siri - must set up as "New Phone", then handle the rest later (e.g., restoring, etc.).
 
I preordered two phones on Friday (16 Gb white and 64 Gb white). Both will be porting from AT&T.

My email after ordering says an October 14 ship date. However, I've received nothing since then and my order status page hasn't changed since day one. My CC has also not been charged yet.

I'm beginning to wonder if this order is coming on time. One of the reasons I switched from AT&T was so that I could buy the phone earlier (before I would be upgrade eligible). I'm going to be upset if this effort was for naught.
