i was half asleep at 3 when i ordered through verizon. what is total mobile protection?? to me it seemed to mimic apple care @ 11$ a month it comes out to slightly more than apple care (i only keep my phone for a year anyway)

Total Mobile Protection includes loss and theft protection as well as out of normal warranty repairs, Applecare+ doesn't. It is also for as long as you pay, Applecare+ is only for 2 years. Applecare+ also only covers 2 incidents of accidental damage. I don't think there is a limit on the TMP for events.

I got really confused by the array of protection plans too. I had planned on dropping the TMP and there was an offer for another service which didn't include phone warranty work, but did include loss, theft and damage. At confirmation, it looks like it only added the extra protection to what I'm already paying. What a pain.

When I called, the person did not have any kind of precise information for me. She just looked at the schedule and the schedule had ordered times and expected ship date. He didn't seem to know precisely what my order timewise and I had to tell her. Maybe the person you talk to was assuming a different order time.

I was very specific about the order time.

I did just talk to a supervisor who gave me the preorder number. I dont know how to tell if it is an early number or not but he said whoever told me the 7th was not correct. He assured me that my order came in right at 3AM (they are in Maryland) and it is shipping on the 25th. Im sure they will deliver on that day not ship then....

Got my Rose Gold 6s ordered shows its Awaiting inventory and delivery date is the 25th. I've got a business account

after 9 hours, verizon still hasn't gotten their website working properly. subsidized 2 year price still nowhere to be seen for the 6s. glad I just went to sleep. this is futile.

What is the issue with the verizon site? I thought the 2 year option was only for people that where already on a 2 year plan?

It is, but for those of us who are on two-year plans and trying to renew, the option wasn't coming up for us for either the 6s or 6s Plus. It was showing for those phones BEFORE the preorders started and after preorders were being taken the two-year option was showing for all the other phones.

That's why I ended up going through Apple.

I tried to pre-order a phone. The website says I'm eligible for an upgrade, but only given the option to pay full price for the 6s. On any other phone, iPhone or Samsung, I can get the subsidized price. Chat was unhelpful. Customer Service over the phone said I'm not eligible until October, my only option is to pay full price or wait to order until October. Looks like I won't be getting a new iPhone.

Considering the complete lack of consistency in the customer service, I would keep calling back. I would say the ratio of knowledgeable to unknowledgeable VZW support is 1 to 10.

Had a very informative talk with Apple and a mostly informative talk with Verizon today. As far as I can see there is absolutely no reason to buy from Verizon. The young man said that I could get the "subsidized" version with $299 up front and an extra access fee of $20 on my bill for the 24 months of the contract (299 plus 480, which is indeed a higher price that the phone outright).

For some reason, I am not "eligible" for the month to month option, so I'm on hold to figure out why. But the price would be $31413 which is $755. Plus AppleCare at $130. Though I wouldn't have the $40 upgrade fee, I suppose.

So, the question is, why buy from Verizon at all, especially as I don't get any incentives as an existing customer (some great ones if I were new!) I can either buy it outright from Apple or use the upgrade program. And with the upgrade program, I'm able to trade in an "old" phone for a brand new one without having to go through the process of reselling it, even if I hold onto it for the second year.

So, I made an appointment to go to the Apple store on Friday to learn about the payment program. At that point, I'll either buy the phone outright, or, with approval, do the Upgrade Program (I'm still not sure if that's the best idea for me. I have until Friday to think about that, and I'll still be lurking here to listen to your thoughts).

I ordered two of the same phone, trying to guarantee I would get one on the 25th.

I ordered one through Verizon's website and one through Apple's.

So which should I cancel?

I completed my order through Verizon about 10 minutes earlier than Apple's website, but both confirmation emails say "delivers 9/25."

Right now I plan to wait till next week, then cancel Verizon's. Good idea?

Yeah Verizon told me if ordered through them I could select the promotional 18gb plan at checkout, but if I ordered through Apple the 18gb plan wouldn't be there as an option. Well guess what, the 18gb plan wasn't an option when I ordered through Verizon. They were wrong about that. So yeah I don't see any advantage ordering through Verizon. I bet Verizon won't let you pre-sign for delivery either, that's a thoughtful Apple permits.

I ordered around 3:20 am est.
I thought it was the apple.com/verizon thread meaning apple.com orders and Verizon orders. My bad.
Don't worry about it haha. I ordered at 3:04am EST and have yet to see mine go to processing. I guess I'll wait a few hours and check again
