Easier how?

In the end we all (Verizon) customers have to activate with Verizion plans and are dealing with Verizon CS.

This thread is set up as a Verizon Carrier thread - regardless of how you order your phone.

Many people track the progress of their orders. The same reason there is a T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint thread. This thread is mixed with Apple.com orders as well as VZW online orders.

There has already been confusion when talking about dates in this thread caused by someone who ordered from Apple vs. someone who ordered from VZW.

Well, we don't necessarily need separate threads, but could people at least make sure they say what site they ordered from when discussing their status? That would at least help eliminate the multiple posts afterwards asking "Which site are you talking about?"

Oh sure, I think coherent, informative posts should be expected. When I posted, I indicated the time, source (i.e., Apple.com vs. V.com), my current contract status, the phones I ordered, even took a couple of screenies during the process in case anyone wanted some visual support :)

Ordered at 12:04am PDT.

EMAIL says delivers by 9/25
Checking the order status says expected ship date 9/25

But did it from here (obviously a pic from later in the day):

glad I had service.

Nice...least you ordered with style.

Call them, I called yesterday to figure out if the new plan would be better for me and it was.
Spent an hour on the phone with VZ. Got the new data plan AND credit back for the $40 upgrade fee. :)Thanks to all for all the help!

So I upgraded three lines, had to speak with customer service to place the order. Got my confirmation email immediately at 1:08 PDT and deliver by date is 10/07/2015.

Yes all Verizon 4G/LTE phones are GSM unlocked.
Curious as to why there's a "Verizon" and "factory unlocked" iPhone listings on Amazon? Because Verizon is factory unlocked? I was gonna list my 5s under Verizon just to be sure, but the factory unlocked does run higher.

When did you order? Just trying to get a handle on when the delivery times started to slip.

For all of you who pre-ordered through verizon and live in an apartment. On the email that verizon sends out once you've done your pre-order, where it says "Ship to" do you see your apt number? I see my address but my apt number is missing. Im not sure if its just the way its set up or that I didnt type it and left it out mmmm

I didn't notice that but my apartment number is also missing. I ordered over the phone and definitely gave the number.

I have 3 lines on my account, 2 UDP, and 1 with the 2GB plan. The 2 UDP phones have eligible upgrade so I was planning on transferring the upgrade to the 2GB and getting the 6s on that line, then switching it back to my UDP line.

First, I wasn't able to get the subsidized price on the 6s in the online preorder, no matter what I tried. Many other have had this problem too it seems.

So I went into verizon to see if they could do better. They were able to see the subsidized price, but told me that the terms for the transferred upgrade changed and that if you transfer and upgrade, "The alternate or receive MDN may not retain the unlimited data package". The manager told me that the alternate line refers to the line that you are transferring the upgrade FROM, and the receiving is the line that you are transferring the upgrade TO. Basically if either have unlimited, they both lose that plan when this upgrade happens. Even though I had him go through the process and it didn't say anything about changing the data plan, he said it does and you will lose the unlimited. He said that he has done a similar upgrade before and the unlimited was lost. Do I believe him? Have I been suckered?

Wow, neat! Where is that?

Reservoir near Ellis Kansas aka middle of nowhere. But I had 2 bars LTE and about 20mb/s down. I am not the biggest fan of VZ as a company but their service is pretty good.

I ordered 1:08am I'm still set for 9/25 shipment arrival!
Lucky! I'm kind of upset about it, wouldn't have bothered staying up if I knew I wasn't getting it on launch day. I'm definitely paying off in full these phones as soon as I can so in the future I can just deal with Apple.

I'm confused. Went to order a new 6S+ and only had two payment options - full price or monthly installment plan. Where's the option to renew for 2 years and pay 399 for a 64gb 6S+?

You need to call VZ and see if there's some kind of glitch or clerical issue holding that up. For me, they didn't show me the monthly plan until I called them, and then had to configure a few things. At the end of the day though, when looking at the finances of it, they provide no incentive for the existing customer (unless there's a business account, I think) to purchase from them rather than Apple. Still trying to understand that.

All Verizon 4G phones are unlocked to work with T-Mobile and AT&T or any carrier that uses a sim pretty much. But since it was purchased from Verizon it is technically a Verizon phone. So that is the only difference.

Interesting, thanks! So if I order directly from Apple (which I haven't done before), will I have the option to upgrade with the subsidized price online and renew my 2 year contact? The only reason i want to go through Verizon is because my wife's line has the upgrade and I have unlimited data, and I usually order with her upgrade and then activate on my line so as to keep UDP.

I have seen the questions about the wording on the order pages that say either ships by or delivers by. Here is what happened on the iPhone 5

EDIT: Everyone freaking out about the wording "Shipping on 9/21" or whatever it says DON'T WORRY. Your phone will arrive on the 21st. The same thing happened last year.

Update: Use the following link to check your order status as it has been confirmed to be much more reliable/up-to-date: https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/screens/IconicSearchInit.do

Update #2: You will not see any changes on your order status until Tuesday or Wednesday, possibly even as late as Thursday because that is when your phones will ship out to all of those who pre-ordered. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT.

From what I've heard and read, that rep might be right, I was like you when I got my iPhone 5 (which was from a UDP line) I used a Non UDP line on my plan for the upgrade and then when the iPhone 5 came in I switched it so I could keep my unlimited. I worked then but that was back in 2012. I think Verizon since then did away with that and no longer allows you to do that. It was no secret because Verizon knew people were doing that and they allowed it but now I think they changed and no longer allow you to use a non UDP line to upgrade and then switch it back to your UDP line. I believe the only way to keep your UDP with Verizon is to buy the phone at full retail price and then you keep your UDP.
