I ordered (3) 128 GB 6s+ at about 8 am eastern time via telephone and received a delivery date of 10/7 on all 3... has anyone ever gotten there delivery dates bumped up? I was planning on on staying up for the 3am launch but i was so tired from work it got the best of me lol.

Highly doubt they will bump the date.

i figured lol, i have release day impatience with technology and am not sure if i should try to find one on release day while keeping the orders open as a back up.

Wait, they charge a re-stocking fee? What if you cancel before it ships?

Oh they wouldn't charge a restocking fee if I cancel now, but if I get the phone and don't like it, then they will charge it. so thats why Im thinking about ordering it from Apple instead.

My guess is the restocking fee would only be if the package was opened (I could be wrong). I also saw in my confirmation email that the fee could now be as high as $70.

So this is my first pre order through Verizon, does anyone know the carrier used? Last time I preordered getting it was a fiasco. I would like to try and be home or set up other options if I can depending on who delivers them.

TIA

Last year I ordered my 6+ through verizon and it was delivered by FedEx.

Last year my 6 Plus came UPS. I think it just depends which location your phone is shipping from (noted in the confirmation email).

Yeah just double checked, it says deliver by 9/25

Edit: But when I click check order status it says ships 9/25 hmmmm

This happened to me last year and it freaked me out. My phone didn't actually ship until either late on the 18th or early morning on the 19th, but regardless of what it said on their site, I got the phone on the 19th. Verizon ships these out 1-day Air so we should be covered.

most likely there wont be any movement until late next week when it should really pick up.

The most movement we'll see next week is flights going from Shanghai to Anchorage, then Anchorage to either Louisville (UPS) or Memphis (FedEx). Last year I was tracking them like crazy and the morning after a large plane landed in Louisville (I had assumed it was full of iPhones) I got my tracking number.

I'm having a hard time accepting my 10/07 date also. But I'm telling myself that will give me the chance to see different cases on the actual phone (through posts on here) and will allow the opportunity for people to analyze whether or not screen protectors affect the force touch (or is it 3D Touch...) Then I can buy what accessories I want and hopefully still get them at the same time.

Pre-ordered a 64gb 6s vzw from Best buy for $799 for pick up on the 25th, I then called bestbuy customer service an had them price matched for 749 that apple charges

Ive heard of some people even using movers coupons when doing this...

I wouldn't be surprised if if does move. SawthT alot last year.

Did you do this by phone call to VZ? I ordered full price phone, but the new data plans were not offered to me. Also the stupid $40 upgrade fee.
I changed my Verizon plan on the Verizon web site. And I ordered the new phone on the Apple web site since the Verizon site wasn't offering the two-year contract extension with the subsidized price for the phone.

I've never seen bestbuy offer preorder but I've always gotten mine from bestbuy on day one

Edit: I won't disappointed if I don't either
My husband checked with best buy last week about availability of phones on launch day and they told him that they were only going to be issuing phones based on preorders this year. We usually go to the store on launch day too. It will be interesting to see what happens on launch day at the stores. There was such a long line last year.

My local bestbuy isn't really a high volume store since there is a Apple Store less then 100yrds from bestbuy

Or Ontario (for phones going to the West Coast mainly)

Hehe I actually live near Ontario, in fact it's my nearest distribution center. Both FedEx and UPS have huge facilities there. Last year some planes went from Anchorage to Louisville/Memphis then to Ontario, so it really depends on where the stock heads too.

From what I've heard and read, that rep might be right, I was like you when I got my iPhone 5 (which was from a UDP line) I used a Non UDP line on my plan for the upgrade and then when the iPhone 5 came in I switched it so I could keep my unlimited. I worked then but that was back in 2012. I think Verizon since then did away with that and no longer allows you to do that. It was no secret because Verizon knew people were doing that and they allowed it but now I think they changed and no longer allow you to use a non UDP line to upgrade and then switch it back to your UDP line. I believe the only way to keep your UDP with Verizon is to buy the phone at full retail price and then you keep your UDP.

Okay, I'm going to give it a shot and let you know what I find.

Went into verizon today to transfer upgrade from my wife's UDP line to the non-UDP line and pre-ordered the 64gb 6s for $299. The rep said that I'd lose the UDP on my wife's line when I do this upgrade, so I guess we will find out in 2 weeks. Worst case, my wife's line goes onto the 6GB $30 plan, which is okay for her usage. Will report back with what I find.

Thanks yes please report back I'd be interested to see if you lose the UDP line.

I did this just last year and it still worked fine. I don't think anything has changed, but we'll find out. Just ordered a phone on my wife's non-UDP line. Plan to call in and activate it on my UDP line when it arrives, just like I did with the 5 and then with the 6. Rep wasn't sure if it would work or not. He said maybe activate it on her line and then wait a week and switch it over to be safe. But I'm guessing it will still work the same way this time. He said there would be a warning pop up if it didn't, and that you'll know before you actually activate it whether or not the UDP will go away. If so, I guess I can activate it on her line, use it with her number for a day or two and then try to switch it over. But hopefully that won't be necessary. I use a ridiculous amount of data and don't want to lose UDP.

For those that don't know you can get your tracking number early by searching by reference on the UPS/FedEx sites

Please elaborate
Once the order status changes to 'preparing for shipping' you can go to links I have listed for tracking delivery and search by reference to find your tracking number.

You can use the shipping name, order number, shipping address and street. They all seemed to work last year.

Verizon orders can get your location code by signing into your account then search for order status and click the link for Check Order Status/Order Tracking. Just a little different information than going to My Verizon/My Orders. My location code is P386501 which is Memphis FedEx.
