Verizon.com: Preorder thread

I am in the same boat as you. Cruel to watch them scan it daily just to tell me it's still in Memphis. Longest week of my life. And tomorrow is still only thursday.

I am hoping to leave the signature release on the door but hope I can request to leave it at Fedex hub, then I can get it at 9am

Update. Apparently the "Start Here" folders arrive by USPS and was at my door today. Even though the shipping email from VZW said my iPhone and SIM card were delivered. Called VZW and asked where phone was. They said it's coming by FedEx and will arrive Friday 9/25 according to FedEx tracking number. I said what FedEx tracking number. I was never sent one and didn't see it in myverizon.com. They gave the tracking number to me so I can track it. I told them this is very unclear b/c according to the order email VZW sent me a phone and SIM card were delivered They agreed that was not accurate. Oh and the only thing in "Start Here" folder was a receipt for the "Start Here" folder and no activation instructions. Totally messed up.

That's backwards. Wouldn't it make more sense to deliver that with the phone...?

So I ordered 2 phones at launch (3am EST) and I had to do it one at a time since I was doing the edge feature, so in a moment of rushing/being half asleep I put in my CC number wrong for my wife's phone that I ordered, no big deal, I got an email from verizon last friday(18) saying there was a problem with processing so I called them immediately and she said there was a problem with the card, so I gave her the correct number and to my dismay she was having difficulty processing it and had to cancel that order and then re order it for me with the notion that it wasn't my fault this order was cancelled bc of a computer snafu and I should still be receiving the phone on the 25. Fast forward to yesterday I call verizon to check on the phone(mine is processed already with a tracking #) and the guy told me the same thing that there was a notation on the account about not losing my spot in line, great. Wake up this morning and myself and my wife both have an email stating that the order on 9/18 was cancelled and there was a new order created on 9/22 with a ship date of 10/7. Called verizon again and they gave me the same line, don't worry there is a notation stating to be shipped 9/25. Anyone else having a similar issue? Should I expect the phone Friday or break the bad news to the misses

I have tracking from USPS and mine also said that it was the phone and SIM card.. very disappointing. I haven't received anything in regards to my phone at this point and I was told that I would have a delivery date by Friday at the store when I pre-ordered on 9/13. Sad news. Wish this "start here" packet just came with the phone. :(

reasons why i didn't, you get like 300 verizon credit for the purchase of a new device, which can't be used on a payment plan. and the other 100 is bill credit (which is fine)..
would be beneficial if it was all bill credit, but you could get more selling it.. I'm sure they sharked a few into it

Wait... What do you mean "can't be used for payment plan" ? I just see $300 for an iPhone 5S that can be applied to your bill?
 
Just got charged but the expected delivery date still shows 10/7... Does it mean that my order actually got bumped?
 
This thread has been helpful, interesting, and sometimes frustrating hearing about all of your trials and tribulations. Here's my experience so far - preordered from Verizon's website at 2:55 AM ET on 9/12, 128GB 6s Plus space grey. CC was charged on 9/20, received trade in promo text from VZW on 9/20, got shipping notice & UPS tracking # via email on 9/21. Since 9/21 has been showing in Coatesville, PA, not yet in UPS' hands. Today I did the VZW trade-in promo since VZW offered me $300 for my 5s 32GB whereas Gazelle offered only $201. All signs pointing to 9/25 for me. Time has seemed to slow down. I need to stop reading this thread, I think it is making it worse! o_O You guys are the best, thanks for all of the info and keep your spirits up!

VZW site says it is an account credit. The promo is offered because you upgraded already. The text I got from them says "Thank you for your recent purchase."

not sure of the payment structure of the 5s, but for the 6 the rep told me:

i would receive $300 verizon store credit for the purchase of a new device, and $100 bill credit..

you can't use the $300 store credit if you get an iPhone 6s on a monthly payment, you have to buy the phone out right to spend the credit..

the rep said the credit can't be used for a bill (which i still think is wrong). but this was the information he gave me. he was great help and knew a lot, thus i didn't question when he spoke about this

I've got 3 classes tomorrow and then it's the weekend for me. Do you understand how hard it'll be to even function? I wish the launch date wasn't 12 days after the pre orders started. This is absolute torture! It's like the 12 days of Apple!

Doesnt really have to do with verizon, but we all get to sit back and watch the influx of Australians getting their phones tomorrow morning right? Yay..... Kappa

So the $100 I'm getting for my 4 will be useless to me?
 
I just checked my order from another link and its actually showing that my order has been sent to warehouse for shipment, the expected shipping date is 9/23, although the info on the other page(the one i can just clock from the confirmation email) still shows 10/7. Man i hate inconsistencies!! :mad:

This is the email I got. Nothing about a bill credit or gift card. Guess we'll have to wait and see :p
