I downloaded iOS 10.0.3 last night. I will check and report back.

I am convinced the issue still exists. What they did was put the same patch they slipped into the 10.1 beta. You stay connected to the network however it is slow. Personally think it is a backend VZ fix. I ported to Att and have zero issues with the same phone. Put the wife's VZ sim in yesterday and zero changes.

Is it always slow regardless of signal strength?

VZ Carrier update 26 was mentioned as being a part of the beta, but I'm still on 25.1 with the 10.0.3 update.

So far so good I haven't hit the dreaded 1x issue. I do roll to 3G sometimes but I also live in the mountains so the jury is still out if this fix worked or it was to buy time until 10.1 is released

Yes I am getting terriable speeds still. Have the 6s plus and no issues same spot.

This article has only further confused me on the LTE issues. According to Forbes, the superior Qualcomm chip is used in the Verizon iPhone, as well as my A1661 model acquired through US Cellular. Up to this point, I had figured the issues I had been having had been due to the Intel chip. Apparently not.
I'm sorry about that. good luck.

Has anyone still having the issue with 10.0.3 updated to public release 10.1 yet? Any improvement?

iPhone 7 Verizon connectivity issue seems resolved with 10.1 for me. Everything is a little faster and smother. Still get the occasional 3G around my house which has very poor coverage for all carriers, but haven't seen 1x for a while. Even around my house though the phone seems to grab LTE as I leave my house if I am already using VZN WiFi. So that is all working correctly.

Everyone,

I am a Sprint customer and have the new iPhone 7 plus. I, too, was experiencing the same LTE issues that have been reported in this thread. When my iPhone would power on it would connect to LTE and within 5-10 minutes it would drop to either 1x or 3G and never return back to LTE unless I enabled and then disabled airplane mode or power cycled the iPhone. I replaced my SIM card, reset my iPhone and then restored it from backup, reset the iPhone and then set it up as a new iPhone, and also did the prl update (##update#) to no avail. When 10.0.3 came out I installed it immediately and this didn't help, although now we know this was a specific Verizon fix with the modem firmware update. Even after installing 10.1 the issue still persisted. However, last night, while troubleshooting the issue further I logged into my account and removed the Static Public IP address that was enabled on my plan. After removing this service I power cycled my iPhone and it came up on LTE like before. However, it has now remained on LTE for almost 10 hours!! This never happened before with the Static IP enabled. Not only that, but I have watched my iPhone drop to 3G momentarily and within a couple of minutes it bumps right back up to LTE!! Before, when it dropped to 3G, it would never bump back up to LTE without power cycling the iPhone or enabling/disabling airplane mode.

So it appears the Static Public IP address is the culprit. Now why is this causing the issue? It appears that perhaps the modem firmware isn't handling Static IP addresses very well and I think this is where the focus needs to be and investigated.

If anyone has a moment verify which your carrier, especially those with Sprint, and see if the Static Public IP address is enabled on your service plan. If so, have them remove/disable this service and then power cycle your iPhone and then monitor it. I am 99.99% sure this will fix the problem and hopefully Sprint will work with Apple to investigate why the modem firmware is having issues with Static Public IP address enabled.

Good luck!!

I have Verizon and have never heard of a static public IP address option. Sounds like something for business users who have a special use case for it. I think the widespread issue had to do with how the 7 handled LTE in marginal signal areas, if your issue was caused by a static IP, you'd see the LTE drop behavior everywhere. At least you fixed your issue! Although it doesn't seem like a static IP problem would be widespread, there are most definitely others out there experiencing the same thing. Did you try and add it back to your plan to see if the problem continued after it was turned back on? Maybe it just needed to be toggled.

Nubby,

Yes, I had re-enabled the Static IP address on my account and immediately started having the LTE issue again. After I had enabled the service, I power cycled my iPhone. It came up immediately on LTE and dropped to 3G within minutes and remained on 3G just as it had originally without bumping back to LTE.

I know you are with Verizon, but I would at least call them to see if they are using Static IP addresses by default or if it is enabled on your service and your just not aware. I would ask them to disable it and you would revert back to using dynamic IP addresses.

Those of you on Sprint, please look into this. Call Sprint and see if you have the Static IP address enabled. If so, have it removed/disabled. It won't negatively affect your service. Instead of being assigned the same IP address over and over again, your IP address will change from time to time which is absolutely fine. Good luck!!

Wow, I have never heard about a static IP.

A growing number of Verizon subscribers are complaining about a serious issue that causes them to regularly lose LTE connectivity on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices, suggesting a major bug that needs to be resolved by either Apple or Verizon.

There are dozens of complaints from Verizon customers who have purchased either an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus on the MacRumors forums, Reddit, and the Apple Support Communities.

Phones from other carriers may also be experiencing the same problem, as there are also complaints from some AT&T subscribers. The problem appears to be limited to Apple's newest devices, with those who have earlier iPhones not reporting connectivity issues. As described by Reddit user Kangalex:Affected customers are seeing their LTE connectivity cut out at regular intervals, leaving them stuck with 3G/1X speeds or no signal at all. This can cause calls to disconnect when VoLTE is in use in addition to interrupting data usage. Turning off VoLTE can avoid dropped calls, but it does not address the underlying problem.

There appears to be no clear fix for the issue, and customers have been complaining of being routed between Apple and Verizon with neither company offering a solution. Restarts, sim swapping, turning off HD voice, and putting the iPhone in Airplane Mode appear to resolve the issue temporarily, but it returns. Apple and Verizon have swapped out devices for some affected customers, but their new devices have the same problem.

Customers who are experiencing the issue say that the problem is exacerbated by switching between towers, as one might do when traveling in a moving car, and that it is not fixed in iOS 10.0.2 or in the iOS 10.1 beta.

One customer was told it was an Apple software issue, and according to several others, Verizon is aware of the problem and is working with Apple on a fix.

Update: While Verizon users have generated the highest number of complaints about this issue, customers on other carriers around the world have also experienced it.
