I'm not sure where to put this. Had excellent reception and dl/upload speeds on the 6+. This is on the 7+....

Anyone else experiencing this? Or is everyone just on the "no service" bandwagon?

I mentioned this in the original thread. Although our iPhone 7s report they are in LTE I suspect this issue is affecting it as well. I've opened several apps with LTE and a decent signal and the app said I needed to check my internet connection.

How is this different than the same issue I had with my 5S 6+ and 6S+? all of them if they get dropped to 3G would sometimes get stuck there until I reset them by putting them in airplane mode

I have this problem on my Verizon iPhone 6S. I think it's probably an iOS10 issue? Seemed ok on iOS9.

Had no issues like this with my iPhone 6S and 6. Used in the same location for the past few years. This is new issue with the iPhone 7.

Apple Being Courageous: We've eliminated the over 139-year-old ability to make live voice phone calls. Think about it. The first phone call was made back on March 10, 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell to his assistant Mr. Watson. Voice calls haven't changed much. You still hear the analog voice of the person you're communicating with. So, we've introduced a new innovative way to communicate? iMessages 2.0! we've done away with voice entirely and have gone with digital bubbles, smily faces, emoticons galore. It's the best way to communicate, ever.

I put my wife's iPhone 6 and my iPhone 7 into field test mode and it appeared that the 6 was switching between towers much faster as we drove down the highway.

I will confirm I've had dropping issues. On top of this, sometimes I'll be on 3G randomly in a spot that I should have LTE. And worst of all, sometimes I'll just have "No Service" when I should have service. I've rebooted, and done hard reboots as well. Something needs to be fixed and I'm pretty sure it's software/VZW firmware related.

Where I live, this has been an issue with AT&T on an iPhone 5, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus. There is one specific area where I travel through that the phone has to be put in Airplane Mode, wait 30 seconds, then return to normal service or you face getting either an E, 3G, or 4G indicator and face loss of cellular function. This while traveling out of my home LTE area. Took a 2300 mile journey in Late July and never had an issue. But, travel 20 minutes from the house and it happens.

Coincidentally, it happens near a body of water so don't know if that plays a part in it or not. But, I have seen it happen for quite some time.

One band on top of the 7, one at the bottom where as the 6/6s had two bands, two on top and two bands on the bottom
Right. I don't know the logistics of how "less" bands relates to perhaps "worse" service. I was just stating that they do indeed still exist.

A growing number of Verizon subscribers are complaining about a serious issue that causes them to regularly lose LTE connectivity on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices, suggesting a major bug that needs to be resolved by either Apple or Verizon.

There are dozens of complaints from Verizon customers who have purchased either an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus on the MacRumors forums, Reddit, and the Apple Support Communities.

Phones from other carriers may also be experiencing the same problem, as there are also complaints from some AT&T subscribers. The problem appears to be limited to Apple's newest devices, with those who have earlier iPhones not reporting connectivity issues. As described by Reddit user Kangalex:Affected customers are seeing their LTE connectivity cut out at regular intervals, leaving them stuck with 3G/1X speeds or no signal at all. This can cause calls to disconnect when VoLTE is in use in addition to interrupting data usage. Turning off VoLTE can avoid dropped calls, but it does not address the underlying problem.

There appears to be no clear fix for the issue, and customers have been complaining of being routed between Apple and Verizon with neither company offering a solution. Restarts, sim swapping, turning off HD voice, and putting the iPhone in Airplane Mode appear to resolve the issue temporarily, but it returns. Apple and Verizon have swapped out devices for some affected customers, but their new devices have the same problem.

Customers who are experiencing the issue say that the problem is exacerbated by switching between towers, as one might do when traveling in a moving car, and that it is not fixed in iOS 10.0.2 or in the iOS 10.1 beta.

One customer was told it was an Apple software issue, and according to several others, Verizon is aware of the problem and is working with Apple on a fix.

If this is an Apple issue, which sounds like it is if its affecting more than one carrier, then a software update fix should be in the works.

If I was in the market for a new iPhone, buying a used 6s is looking better and better.

This is why I stayed with the tried and true 6s. Apple decided to go with Intel and all the early adopters are seeing issues from screens to connectivity. Hopefully this all gets ironed out sooner versus later. I will wait until next year when Apple does its lessons learned segment on the next build.

Man, am I glad I purchased the GSM T-Mobile version. I could have picked the Verizon model and used it on T-Mobile, but I feared something like this.
I think it is the carrier settings or software. I'm using a Verizon iPhone 7 on AT&T and have not experienced this issue.

The Verizon model uses the Qualcomm modem.
