Just to add something here, i have the same "no service" and cell service drops over here in germany with a new iPhone 7 Plus and Tmobile aka Telekom as carrier. So i am not so sure if its just a carrier issue.
Maybe it is some hardware issue?

I had this same issue with my 7 plus on att when I first received it and a reset all settings and reset network settings fixed the issue for me

We haven't had any such issues and I can't imagine it's a large issue if only "dozens" aka 24 or 36 people out of the many millions who bought one aren't complaining about it.

There are more than dozens. Not sure why they reported that number.

But because you haven't had the issue, and because the reports they cited came from only three user forums does not mean that lots of people aren't having the issue.

How many phone users know to go to reddit or the apple support pages to complain about something?

FWIW it's happened to me since day 1, and also happened in Germany.
[doublepost=1475187337][/doublepost]Can confirm. Has plagued my iPhone 7 since day 1. Cycling to airplane mode and back usually resolves it.

This issue is location based. I was in New York City over the last 5 days and had this issue very consistently all of the city. I'm running iOS 10.0.2 on my Verizon iPhone 7. My friend's Verizon iPhone 6S running iOS 10.0.2 didn't have the issue in the same locations as me. The issue completely disappeared when I arrived back in my home town of Atlanta. There must be something unique about the Verizon network in the New York city area and some other areas that is causing this issue with the iPhone 7. Which also explains why this isn't a widespread issue being reported.

"Customers who are experiencing the issue say that the problem is exacerbated by switching between towers, as one might do when traveling in a moving car..."

Bad PRL?

LOL those are typical LTE speeds in central PA on an Apple device, unless you're within 300 feet of a Verizon store. (then you get ~6mbps down and ~800kbps up)

Android devices for some reason have always speed tested faster than my iPhones since the 5.

I've become accustomed to using WiFi as much as possible, including using a "jetpack" instead of the built in modem on my iPhones because it's just faster that way (and uses less battery).

AT&T Speeds are way better than that. Heck even the 4G Speeds blow that out the water. I stay away from CDMA networks because of the lousy speeds especially when it falls over to 3G. Sprint is the worst.

Glad this is getting some traction now beyond forum threads. After going through all the standard troubleshooting steps earlier this week (I only bought the phone on Saturday) I went to the Apple Store last night. Genius Bar ran full diagnostics suite but didn't detect anything. Other than doing another factory reset or sending me off to Verizon for additional trouble shooting from their end, Apple was not inclined at all to replace the hardware even though other members of this forum did get new phones. Referring to threads on MacRumors for example did not trigger them for dig deeper.

Since I'm heading out of town for a week, which will put me beyond the 14 day return period, I just returned my phone altogether.

What's not mentioned specifically in the article is that the drops are not limited to the network, GPS will also drop simultaneously. What's interesting though, is that the signal dropped frequently while driving, but it didn't occur as long as I was on a phone call. Also, the phone had trouble staying connected to LTE in general. Even in solid LTE service areas it would frequently just sit on 3G.

FWIW: iPhone 7, Verizon, 128Gb, NYC, 10.0.2, Carrier 25.1

I have this problem on my Verizon iPhone 6S. I think it's probably an iOS10 issue? Seemed ok on iOS9.
Is it possible to be a IOS issue and not a carrier issue, serious question as it seem there are a lot of little quirks that need to be ironed out in IOS 10

Has anyone been experiencing intermittent voice transmission loss on Verizon iPhone 7 plus? Everyone now is complaining that I cut out every minute or so since I got my 7 plus last week. My 6s plus had no problems. I did turn off the 'phone noise cancellation' and so far I haven't had anymore complaints, but I never had a problem on 6s plus? Using VoLTE with both devices, same kind of case.

It's that's the case it might be related to specific LTE bands, since carriers may times use different LTE bands in different markets, depending on the population density, topology of the area, etc...

Mine simply switches to "No Service". Hopefully, this isn't a device issue and is easily fixed.
My 7 didn't have a problem, I returned it and picked up a 7Plus yesterday. this happens a lot, leave WiFi gets stuck on 3G, hit airplane mode on/off fixes it for awhile but it randomly returns. I'm traveling same area as my 7.

A growing number of Verizon subscribers are complaining about a serious issue that causes them to regularly lose LTE connectivity on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices, suggesting a major bug that needs to be resolved by either Apple or Verizon.

There are dozens of complaints from Verizon customers who have purchased either an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus on the MacRumors forums, Reddit, and the Apple Support Communities.

Phones from other carriers may also be experiencing the same problem, as there are also complaints from some AT&T subscribers. The problem appears to be limited to Apple's newest devices, with those who have earlier iPhones not reporting connectivity issues. As described by Reddit user Kangalex:Affected customers are seeing their LTE connectivity cut out at regular intervals, leaving them stuck with 3G/1X speeds or no signal at all. This can cause calls to disconnect when VoLTE is in use in addition to interrupting data usage. Turning off VoLTE can avoid dropped calls, but it does not address the underlying problem.

There appears to be no clear fix for the issue, and customers have been complaining of being routed between Apple and Verizon with neither company offering a solution. Restarts, sim swapping, turning off HD voice, and putting the iPhone in Airplane Mode appear to resolve the issue temporarily, but it returns. Apple and Verizon have swapped out devices for some affected customers, but their new devices have the same problem.

Customers who are experiencing the issue say that the problem is exacerbated by switching between towers, as one might do when traveling in a moving car, and that it is not fixed in iOS 10.0.2 or in the iOS 10.1 beta.

One customer was told it was an Apple software issue, and according to several others, Verizon is aware of the problem and is working with Apple on a fix.

iP7+ on VZ since day one and no issues. Works perfect.

My AT&T 7+ has sporadic total connection fail issues - no LTE, 4G, 3G, nada... I can still get wifi no problem so anyone using imessage I get their texts... but phone calls or non iphones, nope. Once in a while it will connect and then I'll get a slew of text messages. Very annoying, sounds pretty widespread so I'm planning to sit tight until I see something more official.

I've got to wonder if those that are claiming to have no issues just aren't noticing the issue but are still having the issues nonetheless?

For me, a surefire way to recreate the problem is to drive around for 30-60 minutes while using Waze for navigation. I will almost always get a "no service" dropout at some point when doing this. I believe that this issue is related to the phone's inability to search for the best available signal and/or handoff properly when moving between towers.

If I'm stationary in a spot where I have a good signal, the problem almost never occurs. Likewise, if I kept my phone in my pocket while driving and only pulled it out when I got to work or when at home, I probably wouldn't notice the issue. I'm guessing that this is what is happening to a lot of those people who claim to have no issues.

I posted that a little while ago in this thread, but I can't figure out if the phone is pulling lower signal or if they've just adjusted how the dots show signal (i.e. you're getting the same signal as before, but instead of showing 3 dots, it's only showing 1).

My 7 Plus seems to get great signal, even if it's showing only one dot (which is does most of the time while I'm at home and at my office). And it's yet to drop from LTE to 4G or 3G. So I'm a bit perplexed. But I know exactly what you're saying.
I have mine in decibels and it's definitely lower. And even where I had bad service before I have non now.

Once again, it seems like I've dodged the bullet with this device. After having problems with the 6 Plus and 6s, my Jet Black iPhone 7 on Verizon is phenomenal. I'll watch out for this, but so far I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Same here. I commute regularly and have had zero issues. If anything, it's been perfect. Must be location based in my opinion.

I can only speak to my experience, but I haven't had this problem and my job involves driving around my area and using Google Maps all day.

I switched from Sprint using a 6S Plus to a 7 Plus... I was sick of the phone falling back to 3G all the time and thought it was Sprint.

Now that this is happening on Verizon it's seeming more like an Apple issue. I've been really disappointed the past week having much slower speeds than on Sprint and being stuck on 3G (or worse -- the dreaded "Verizon with dots" and no data connectivity!

Edit: Los Angeles Metro area

I'll double down......

I have a unlocked 256gb Verizon iPhone 7+ in which I use Waze on a daily basis for my commute in the Chicago area (suburbs to the South Side of Chicago). I have not had one instance in which the reception went from LTE to either 4G, 3G, or 1x. Reading a lot about this issue, I've been keeping an eye to see if this occurs on my device. It has not. I may be a rare and fortunate exception though.....

Well, there goes my theory! Thanks for sharing. So clearly, SOME people are NOT having issues despite using mapping apps to navigate all day and roaming between various towers.

Still, I bet that there are a lot of people that keep their phone in their purse/pocket and don't really pay attention to it while in the car. They therefore wouldn't even be aware that they may have a problem and that their phone is losing signal from time to time when moving between towers.
