I hope Verizon sells the iPhone, but I'm not switching: rollover minutes and grandfathered unlimited data.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Honestly. I switched to AT&T from verizon a few months ago just for the iPhone and I don't regret it. I have no issues with coverage or 3G speeds in the Central Jersey area. I don't see a need to switch back.

Anyone give thought that this could be the release of the White iPhone finally?
Nah, Apple has publicly stated that the white iPhone would be coming in the spring. It's still winter until late March.

When Apple makes nebulous statements about release dates, they typically ship toward the end of the stated window, not before.

Anyone every think its the phone thats the problem. Ive had 3 iphones. the original the 3 and the 3GS. all dropped calls. Having att before the iphone and still having it now without a iphone i can say i dont drop calls anymore. Maybe the phone/manufacture is part of the problem. Not completely letting att off the hook either but just saying.

HAHAHA, we have free talk on verizon to verizon, most of my friends and families across the country are verizon users(only 3 of them are AT&T users and never pick the phone, I wonder why:rolleyes:) I have 300 minutes and I barely use 100.:D

I can't see Apple releasing the iPad 2 less than 10 months after the original. That's unrealistic.

The funniest part of the Verizon iPhone release will be watching all the Android fans out there suddenly have to start lumping Verizon in with AT&T. "Too bad you Apple bozos aren't free to choose your service providers because AT&T and Verizon both suck!" :D

Even better is the fact that with verizon you get free unlimited verizon to verizon texting, with ATT you don't and i had the 10.00 txting plan bc of this, but the stupid gf had to switch to att thats where the majority of my txts get eaten into

BGR Staff meeting:

"Apple is blacking out vacations in early Feb!" BG#1

"Maybe it is for the new iPad we have been seeing leaks about." BG#2

"Yeah... but lets run a story saying 'it COULD' be a Verizon iPhone!" -BG#1

"But I think it would more likely news about the iPad, since it came out this time last year." -BG#2

"No... think about all of the hits our blog will get!" -BG#1

How is getting the dates possibly pinned down not new news? Yeah, we knew about the vacation limits already, but this is the first I've seen about Feb 3-6 on MacRumors.

While you do have a point with specific dates, but there have been a whole bunch of "Verizon iPhones coming in (specific month) rumors for ages and haven't come true. Besides, read the story again. I don't see anything explicitly saying Apple will release the Verizon iPhone. It could be a different product, like iPad 2 or a flying car. Due to this non-specificity, it's not major news to me. If it is to you, fine. You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to.

I personally am just happy to have an iPhone. Mine has always worked everywhere I go. The only issue I've ever had that was mildly annoying was when I was driving from Ohio to California and my iheartradio kept having to resync because of the tower switch. Other than that, no dropped calls. No loss of connection while using it. Always receive texts as well.

Also, with the improvements that AT&T will be making alongside their launch of LTE, the 3G speeds will only become faster and faster.

It's amazing how all of the "Leaks" are just vague enought that it is impossible to really put your finger on what is going to happen.

It will be so glorious the day it is confirmed, 100% by Mr. Steven Jobs.

Verizon currently has world phones that make use of a SIM card. The recently leaked video and pictures of the newest iPhone seemed to show a SIM card slot which led a lot of people to dismiss it as a possible Verizon iPhone. Isn't it possible that the housing was indeed a Verizon iPhone and the slot is for inserting a SIM card if you plan to travel overseas. Seem like a pretty big reach to me but are there any engineers that can speak to this? Is it really that simple to create a dual CDMA/GSM phone and all you have to do is insert a SIM card and you are good to go on international networks?

Why aren't more folks recognizing this possibility? I have a Crackberry World Phone on VZW which works on lots of networks. No reason to think the next iPhone can't do the same - multiple radio's in the phone = one device for AT&T, T-mobile, VZW networks. Makes sense from a product development, sales & support perspective.

what proof of this ludacris statement do you have....Cingular had pretty high ratings

I believe it was when Cingular became AT&T (or Cingular acquired AT&T, however the merger worked). The network couldn't handle the added users. Though that's just what I've heard. I switched to Verizon before Cingular disappeared.

If I were Steve Jobs, I'd definitely spend a few moments of my day reading Mac Rumors forum and having a good laugh! :)

My prediction continues to be that this is a Verizon iPad not iPhone and will have LTE/CDMA.

The CDMA iPhone handsets that Apple is producing is, I believe, for the frequencies for China and India.

Verizon iPhone 1-12-12.

Rocketman

Yea, Apple sure is going to make a CDMA iPhone for China and India and not for Verizon . Come on, that is the silliest thing I've heard. 50% of all iPhones produced are sold in the US. America is where the action and the $$$ is.

I don't want to burst the bubble, but you are giving too much leverage into the Verizon iPhone. There is an equal, if not more likely, chance that the pending launch will be the iPad 2. The evidence is that Apple typically refreshes at a one year frequency with other iOS devices. Any anecdotal evidence of Verizon mimicking Apple in blackout dates can equally be due to Verizon heavily co-promoting the iPad 2 with their WiFi hotspot device that taps into their new LTE service, which they are pushing as an alternative to AT&T tied service for the iPad 3G.

I'm not saying that this is not the Verizon iPhone. I am just saying that it is more likely to be the iPad 2.

I find it hard to believe that iPad2 would develop the same amount of buzz, pent-up demand, and require the substantial human resources that a Verizon iPhone would. I can't see droves of people lining up for a CDMA iPad 2 at a verizon outlet. Especially just after the holidays when a ton of iPads were just sold.

Just a feeling.... I don't have a dog in this fight.

ATT also has free mobile to mobile.

Lost my droid about an hour ago . Outside the mall, grocery shop or head shop. In about 3 inches of snow. Not going back out to find it.

So an iPhone in February would be almost perfect!

ATT also has free mobile to mobile.

We use about 350 minutes a month, mostly mobile to mobile.

We also have 4000+ rollover minutes.
I don't think our usage would change if we switched to verizon.

if you get unlimited minutes do you get rollover minutes:D

Great, another thread that devolves into AT&T and Verizon fanboys (shocking they are actually out there) instead of everyone realizing this competition benefits EVERYONE.

Why do people around here reference this over and over?

Verizon has millions... yes, millions of smart phone users for whom this is a non-issue. Is it important to you? Cool - no one cares.

Oh and by the way, Verizon's 3G network is can currently support simultaneous voice and data (device specific with the proper hardware).

Millions who wont care huh?

This statement is utterly useless without a dependable source...so who cares?

I might as well add that there are several millions who do find this as an issue.

I wish I could donate my rollover minutes to someone. I'm on a family plan with 700 minutes (the lowest minutes available for a family plan I believe) and still rack them up quickly and will never ever use them. Utterly useless to me.

Well that might be utterly useless to you and your family because you don't have any friends or family to call, that's on you, but not to the rest of millions of customers who do in fact use them :)
