I guess this makes sense, they can't sell a $3500 product with an M2 chip in 2025. Waiting until the actual next version of the AVP in 2027 or whenever would pretty much be a tacit admission that this is a dead product. I mean, it still is a dead product, but one must keep up appearances until Tim Cook retires.

Serious question: can anyone here provide actual feedback from using the AVP? Looking for real world feedback on whether or not it is useful or a magical improvement over iPad / Macs? Looking for input from those that are actually using it. I ask, because I might dabble with it on v2, but only if others are seeing real purpose in it.

There's an entire AVP area of the forum full of what you're looking for.

Have the forum Miss Cleo’s who insisted the product was DOA from the moment they heard the pricing (and knew they couldn’t afford one) up until today been informed of this terrible news (for their bruised ego) yet?

I mean that's fun, but watching tv is something my wife and I do together... If you live alone, or want to buy multiple headsets maybe this is more of a selling point.
yup I live alone but I love it so much that next relationship I'd prob have to buy her one lol. hopefully they make it more social in the next OS for that case

The second-generation Apple Vision Pro may now be in mass production ahead of its rumored launch later this year, Chinese website IT Home today claims.

Reporting on information from an unknown source, the website says that key components of the new Vision Pro, including panels, housings, and circuitry, have moved into mass production ahead of the product's purported release later in 2025. Some Apple suppliers are said to be "rushing" to fulfill orders.

In October, The Information's Wayne Ma reported that Apple had abruptly reduced production of the Vision Pro headset ahead of plans to stop making the current version of the device completely by the end of 2024. This means that the device may no longer be in production and Apple likely has a sufficient number of Vision Pro units in its inventory to meet demand for the device's remaining lifespan through 2025.

Although Apple's work on a substantially enhanced Vision Pro model has apparently stalled, there are strong indications that the company will release "an incremental update to the product with limited changes to its physical design," such as a chip upgrade, according to The Information. Corroborating this, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman have said that a more iterative second-generation Vision Pro is in active development, adding the M5 chip and little else. This updated model is expected to reuse many components from the first-generation Vision Pro to offset the surplus inventory in Apple's supply chain and is likely the model IT Home's report refers to.

Gurman projected the device could launch between fall 2025 and spring 2026, which broadly lines up with IT Home's article today. That being said, IT Home does not have a solid track record for identifying authentic Apple rumors, so the report should be taken with a pinch of salt until we know more.

Apple doesn't report unit sales for the Vision Pro, so we don't have any real idea of what sales are. Everything being reported is just a guess.
Yep, and with that logic, everyone saying that it’s a “Flop” is also just doing that, guessing. Based on nothing.
At least the report that said 370,000 had been sold as of October was providing, you know, a solid number.
A possible guess, but it’s the best we have to go off of.
And based off of that guess, Apple has possibly sold almost 80% of their entire planned inventory, within less than a year.

If it was a roaring success they would release the sales numbers.

You can visit your local Apple Store and try the Vision Pro for free with no obligation to buy

I thought this would be it, and in theory would be great if you're a family-less hermit. But for my life, my 5 year old and wife don't get too happy when i escape to VR land to watch content.

We bought an 85" TV instead for half the cost of a Vision Pro
love all the hate for people who don't have families on this forum😂 jealous or something? lol. My dad woulda loved something like Vision Pro when I was a kid cus ya can watch movies with a theater screen and theater sound after the kids go to bed and not disturb anyone and watch all the sci-fi and horror movies many peoples wives seem to hate 🤷‍♂️
