You mean to tell me you didn't have some old phone sitting in a desk drawer somewhere you could have thrown your SIM card into while waiting for the release of the White iPhone.

I swear some folks have absolutely no patience.

sorry brah, we use them too much for work to be using old dumb-phones for a month as a substitute. Also, we wanted to sell our old iphones before launch to get the biggest return before the market got flooded with old iphones (which we all got quite a good chunk of change for).

When all of the rumors were flying about a white iphone being available at launch I called 2 local radioshacks and got on a waiting list for a white one.

They called a few days ago and said that they had a black one for me. I told them that I would wait for white and asked if they would keep me on the list. They said I was the only one waiting for a white one...

hopefully it works out that I don't have much an issue getting one when they finally do come out, I don't want to stay up all night on my computer trying to preorder

I am on the Best Buy waiting list and they originally had about 10 people who preordered white... they all switched to black and now I am the only one left.

I pre-ordered on 6/15 and I'm the first and only person who pre-ordered that model, in my store at least... My brother works for my Best Buy so he's been keeping me up to date as to thier iPhone stock and if the white iPhone goes "In Transit" in thier computers. I'm not sure if Best Buy will even get it on the date Apple releases it and I already have $50 down on it so I'm in limbo

I doubt they will announce a recall this will cost money and create frenzy. But i hope the delay of the white iphones were related to the problems they had with the black iphones. Because I hope the white ones wont have problems.

That'd create mass hysteria for the White iPhone! It'd make them even harder to get than the Black iPhone is now.

I'm sure it would be easier to buy a black one and swap out the back than swap out the whole front plate and screen since its fused together.

haha no never having one makes it easier because you don't know what all you are missing. I have had nothing buy iphones since the first gen and trying to use any other phone is like reverse evolution to caveman days haha

Well, I was hoping for preorders on Thursday, but given the press conference on Friday, looks like that'd be the earliest date the phone would be available. To me, it seems like there are 3 options:

A. The white phone will go on preorder/sale tomorrow to deflect some heat from the antenna issue.
B. It won't be available tomorrow, but a date further out could be given, e.g. the 24th or the 28th, when international sales start.
C. They recall the phone or something else drastic that causes an indefinite delay of the white models.

And if it's option C I'll be angry.

I have a first generation iPod Touch. The thing is useless when you're outside the 10-foot range of a Wi-Fi signal. It literally just turns into a touch-screen music player. For once I'd like to go "Oh hey, let me look up ______" and pull up Safari and have it actually work.

Someone who works for AT&T sent me a part of the memo that states due to inventory problems that the iPhone 4 White has been delayed to the second half of 2010. When we thought Apple could not disappoint us anymore, here they go again.
