3. Smoother scrolling in long lists (iOS 10 was ok).

6. Better email client, with fonts auto adjustable, as it was in ios9
7. BlackBerry virtual keyboard in iOS, at least a little bigger keyboard
8. Able to share video, hi-res photos, replicate screen, share music, Apple Music list and everything in the middle without even requiring an appleTV.

- iTunes gone. Erase it from existence. Make a simple utility app for MacOS, Windows and Linux, that is for maintaining your backups, restoring and updating.
- nVidia graphics
- Circular Apple Watch
- New iPad Mini
- 120Hz on everything (as it's the greatest new feature since TouchID)
- New SE with everything the 8 has plus ProMotion. Something like the X would be a stretch.

This might be unpopular:

Keep on with the MBPs. If they went down this road, keep on it. 4 USB-Cs will be enough when the accessories finally arrive. It was a further step than usual but going back would be the greatest mistake they can make.

Damn right I want to see an all-TypeC industry. I like the keyboard better than the older ones and with the 2017 model the seemingly fixed the mechanical problems. At least most of them.

Dark OLED mode for X.
iPad Pro with forcetouch and 4K OLED (pipe dream, I know)
Apple Pencil with eraser on end
AirPods in black might make me buy them
Apple Music redesigned (also separate it from iTunes)
WAY more customization options in iOS
and most importantly..
**better manufactured batteries**

Innovation, something they have not done in many years.

the nMacPro was innovative. It’s design for the market it served was flawed yes yet it was innovative just like the G4 Cube before it that it heralded. Implementing FaceID is also innovative and has great potential beyond stupid Animoji especially for accessibility options or end user complex tasks with facial control (Man of Steel house of El showed us that with his robotic assistant).

An updated Mac mini with updated specs from 2018 not 2012.

Make it easier to replace batteries on iPhones instead of forcing customers to pay $80.00

Stop selling spinning hard drives and gouging customers who want an SSD. It's 2018.

Don't charge so much for extra GB on iPhones it doesn't cost that much for extra storage. It's 2018.

Black air pods and I might buy them.

Don't abandon the airport express and time capsule.

Full agreement! They should stop selling hard drives altogether cause there is no price savings. That should’ve been done in 2016!

Apple should improve their mail app and Make it more like airmail

You envision a scenario where product management, engineering and marketing are saying, “we need x, y, and z” then Ive comes along and says, “But I want it thin and beautiful so you’ll get none of those” and gets his way. I don’t buy it.
Steve envisioned the scenario, not me. Sometimes it leads to slam dunks like the Bondi Blue iMac, other times it leads to debacles like Antennagate, where Jony had sufficient leverage to override pushback from engineers.

Sensible kit. Be able to open the back up on try iMac with ease out of warranty and access memory and hard drives. Phone with a battery I can change when it dies.

Actually, do a basic cased Mac you can upgrade at will.

OK, that won't fly, but I can dream.

I would definitely want to see Nvidia graphics like before on the Macs. If not, at least Nvidia gpus should be supported as an eGPU. Else, please make some small AMD Vega card within a small egpu enclosure. My mini itx gaming rig was 11 liters but now my egpu enclosure is at 12.7 liters.
Secondly, I would like to see iphone SE 2 or sth. can be used with one hand.
Third, a new ipad mini please.

Lastly and probably will not happen anymore but I wish to see user-upgradeable iMacs.

I would like to see Apple continue to prove the naysayers wrong.

There’s just something so satisfying when Apple continues to do the opposite of what people say they ought to do, and prosper for it despite all the claims of how they are doomed for not doing so.

What we need from Apple:

  • An actual Pro Macbook Pro. Need 1-2 USB-A ports, an HDMI out, and ethernet if you're feeling generous. It needs a better keyboard! Mine has gotten stuck with a crumb got under a key somehow. I have a loud clicky key when hot. Need quad core processor in the 13". Thicker/heavier is fine. Give us pro level devices - bigger batteries, more ports, better processors. Also you could be more realistic about your hardware pricing for ****s sake.
  • iPad Pro direct pipeline into Macs as a drawing tablet. Supported by Apple directly, doing everything on the hardware with little CPU usage.
  • A 2-in-1 Macbook Pro. Apple is so insanely behind the game with drawing tablets its insane. I could accept a shallow keyboard, like the current Pro models, IF it meant I got a 2 in 1 convertible. I need pen support for my job. I need ports for my job. Also needs a pen silo.
  • Highly capable 1st part Thunderbolt docks. Full charging speed, reliable.
  • IOS night mode (dark screens)
  • TB3 on IOS devices please
  • Better transparency about microphone usage from IOS, 1st Party, 3rd party apps. Apps are spying on me that are not enabled to use the mic. I want to know why.

1. More better home automation. Apple needs to create a better offer than just homekit + 3rd party stuff that does not work so well
2. A better airport extreme that demystifies home network security vs. access from outside world
3. Remote access and screen sharing from outside the home network still too complex an unreliable
4. An apple watch that last a week on one charge
5. A breakthrough battery as an alternative to LiOn
6. A conversational Siri
7. A mental health monitor for health kit, not just physical health
8. Apple bank.
9. A VR headset that allows you to be in an existing VR game
10. A better human interface with the mac that does not require typing.

Make iOS 11 run at more than 1 FPS on my phone. And while they're at it, make it so I don't mysteriously have 7GiB of "other" used storage (besides my messages, which show up as only 800MiB) since that might be the cause of the problem.

I'm sure you can figure out what I mean. Or if you can't, a 4 inch phone with the same internals + camera as the X.

I see what you mean. I don't think Apple will invest that type of technology into a 4 inch form factor, mainly because it's not an overly popular size in a 4 inch iPhone market. Not to mention, I don't know if the physical limitations that the iPhone X encompasses icould transition into a 4 inch iPhone with Face ID, dual camera, OLED constraints, etc.

I don’t want hidden controls (look how many people google how to turn off shuffle). I don’t want my music in the cloud. I remember when iTunes decided that for me, I’m still missing music.
Two of my huge gripes with the new Music app right there. My dad had "repeat this song" enabled for months and didn't know it because they for absolutely no reason hid the controls, and I guess he never Googled it like I did. That and I have to swipe that crappy laggy thing up every time. It was already perfected in, what, the original iPhone OS?

Thank you :)

It really is interruptive when trying to accomplish anything when a phone call comes in.

Couldn’t agree more. They disrupt certain online games too, causing you to lose connection or even the match. A swipe away notification is all that’s needed.

Here what we will really get:
-Discontinue of FaceTime for all 32 bit iPhones
-Carriers will drop all iPhones that are 32 bit
-Rollout of A10x laptops and desktops for lower end macs.
-Tim Cook stepping down due to health issues
-iOS 12 for iPhone 7 and higher.
-Discontinuation of optional updates on newer devices, all iOS updates will automatically be applied from now on.
-Govrmnt access to all iCloud data
-iMessage for android for Apple Pay
-Last version of iTunes released
-Elimination of purchasing music. Only streaming music by subscription.
-No more music ownership.
-Merge of iOS and MacOS simplifying desktop experience
-Elimination of 3rd party software on desktop so only AppStore purchases will run.
-Discontinuation of Mac Pro and iMac Pro due to slow sales.
-EOL for Mac Mini.
-Return of Touch ID and removal of notch and OLED due to high failure rates and eye fatigue from infrared pulses.
-Hints of AR glasses replacing iPhone screen
-Removal of all ports on iPhone for induction only access.
-Discontinuation of HomePod due to lack of sales.
-Major downgrade of stock value
-EOL of Apple Car

And I thought I was a pessimist! Lol.

With the iPhone Apple created a device that killed all the devices of my childhood. I've come to love this new minimalism.

Won't buy any new stuff. Apple tries hard to re-create the world of 2001 just to make some money.

MBP with
1. two extra touchbars (replacing the number row and spacebar) with even more emojis
2. even less travel on (what is left of) the keyboard
3. A larger trackpad that covers the entire bottom part
4. Substantially Thinner
5. Less ports

I know this is a joke but I’m cringing (or is that crying) anyway!

In our recent What to Expect post, we covered everything we think we'll see from Apple in 2018 based on the current rumors that are circulating about the company's 2018 plans.

Three new iPhones are on the horizon, one a followup to the iPhone X, one that will serve as an "iPhone X Plus" with a larger OLED display, and one with an LCD display that will be positioned as a low to midrange device with a cheaper price tag. Apple's first smart speaker, the HomePod, will come out in 2018, and we're also expecting a revamped iPad Pro, refreshed Macs, and new software, but there's always a chance for a wildcard update or new product that will surprise us all.

A high-end modular Mac Pro, new original TV shows, AR smart glasses, and autonomous driving software are all products Apple is working on, with no official release date known. We want to hear from the MacRumors community -- what are you expecting or hoping to see Apple release in 2018?

Are there specific features you're hoping Apple will implement in iOS 12, tvOS 12, watchOS 5, or macOS 10.14? Popular wishlist items for last year included a dark mode for iOS, a customizable Control Center (which happened!), animated icons, iPhone complications, a swipe-based keyboard, offline Maps and Siri, and more.

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect post to get a glimpse at the current rumors. Apple's plans for 2018 will become more clear in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering every rumor that pops up in-depth here at MacRumors.

The MacRumors forums are also a rich resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many exciting changes on the horizon for 2018, our forums are the place to be for lively discussions on what's coming.

We'd like to thank all of our readers and forum members for making MacRumors the absolute best source for Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. We wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to yet another rumor-packed year in 2018.
