A bigger laptop. 15-inches is fine, but it doesn’t take into account the explosion of video and image editing done remotely. A high-end 17 or 20-inch would better serve the pro market, or the tech market that transports its work everywhere it goes

iGirlfriend ...but with not less than iOS 11.5 :) ...and an iPhone X with also fingerprint (back? So Apple Pay is faster and can be used in a dark environment), Apple Music with dark UI so it’s not damaging your sleep if you use it late at night), without notch (please find another way to differentiate your design), and a faster better easier gesture for closing apps and see the open apps. The rest is amazing, can’t wait for the HomePod.

FaceID works in the dark.

Did you mention that when you originally bought your old MBP? Did you also complain about having a phone jack on your pre-iPhone 7 phones? If so, Apple listened to you.

Your post makes absolutely no sense. Improvements and innovations are what make older tech feel inferior.

Personally, as a daily user of Siri for my Homekit devices and also sports and weather, I can't think of any device I own where I would want the UI to be only based on voice control. I not only like, but need, a GUI, not just a UI, or a VUI as you seem to suggest. Voice is good for short commands -- turn on the lights, wake me up at 5 a.m., what is my thermostat set at?, did the Braves win? (of course not, why did I even ask.). But operating a device is more complicated than those kind of commands.

A device operating solely with a VUI rather than a GUI to me is tantamount to going back to DOS where the user had to memorize so many commands to be productive with the computer. That is why the Lisa and then Mac were so revolutionary - people hated and were intimidated by DOS and Apple's GUI gave them an accessible way to use a computer and be productive without the tyranny of commands.

I like being able to go into my Ecobee app or the thermostat itself and setting up routines visually. I would not like to have to speak all of them and then hear Siri or some other voice read it back to confirm. Time waster. I'm sure you've been forced to use a company's VUI phone system to route you to to a human. That is essentially a VUI. No on likes that or wants it for their personal device. But I do like being able to ask Siri what my thermostat is set on or to tell her to lower or raise the temp without going into an app. Siri is best this way, as an alternative input device, not the central UI.

Sorry, should’ve clarified. You’re right, the future is not just about voice, but I guess my post focused on that though I did mention Siri is about voice and AI... the latter which will be the unifying platform for all of Apple’s devices. In fact, I find it confounding that I can’t type Siri requests on the Mac.

A lot of ground has already been covered, but I want to pile on to the following:

-MacBook Pro: return of sensible keyboard (seriously, what other company has to replace an entire keyboard if a key stops working?); an option without a touch bar (function keys were fine and use less RAM); mag safe connector; return of HDMI port and one USB port. I’d like a lower price too. I have a 2010 MBP I’ve wanted to replace, but I look at these and ask, “Why?” I just can’t justify $2300+ on a computer with these compromises.

-iOS/iPhone: I’d like Apple Maps and other apps to be able to speak to me without music playing in the background. Even closing the music app doesn’t do that. Unless it’s something I just can’t figure out, but then why is it so hard to figure out?

So buy the one without the Touch Bar, some people like it especially for Final Cut Pro X.

That would fix the Touch Bar problem, but not the keyboard. And you can't buy a 15" without the touch bar. And you can't get the most powerful chips without the touch bar.

So no, that doesn't solve the problem. I understand there is some number (I personally believe miniscule) who like the touch bar, and I am not arguing that Apple should get rid of it entirely, just that they allow you to buy their most powerful machines without having to get one.

More transparency from Apple would be nice.

From a product standpoint, I'd like to see the following in 2018: Updated SE, updated iPad Mini

I am looking forward to the HomePod as I have purposely held off on buying a Google Home and Amazon Alexa since our house is ingrained in the Apple ecosystem.

An (even more) incredibly powerful iPad Pro. 8gb of ram, 8mp FaceTime camera, A11X, 802.11ad WiFi, OLED display if it can do 120fps and solve the burn-in issue, symmetrical (read:no) bezels, either smaller form factor and 10.5” screen or as large of a display that can fit in the current chassis, black bezel on all colors like iPhone X, more scratch resistant rear logo, and no regulatory markings like iPhone X, FaceID but only if it can work in all orientations

A way to Merge Apple ID's. iOS 12 mouse support. External GPU's. A solution for multiple devices in the room and using "hey Siri". iMessage in the cloud. And a way to Merge Apple ID's.

Also a way to merge Apple ID's. (easily.)

I have no doubts we'll get this. It's the perfect elegant solution for using the air charging matte... my pencil constantly runs out of juice and this awkward, accident waiting to happen, stick it out the ipad's ass solution doesnt work for me :D

:p Thanks for the laugh.

As long as we can use other wireless chargers, that would be great. My mom was looking at my Pencil sticking out of the iPad Pro like this:

1.Offline maps
2. Speed limits (Australia)
3. Reminders app revamp/sorting options/auto hide checked items
4. Longer Apple Watch 3 battery life

Yes, offline maps. The last road trip I took, I went the less traveled route, and didn't have coverage, then directions failed. Good thing I had nav built into the car to fall back on.

* 10Gb Ethernet across the range (as Apple just introduced on the new iMac Pro)

* Safe Mode in Mac OS X (disables all wireless/Bluetooth crap) - basically Flight Mode for Macs (and make it actually stay off)

* Graphics upgrade cards for the current Mac Pro (R2D2)
