Split Second is a blast, very much a fun watch. Never takes itself too seriously, yet entertains throughout. You can see that the players are having fun, clearly enjoying the ride it's palpable which only serves to deepen the immersion for the viewer...

Q-6

Ooooh, putting this one on tonight. Thanks Queen for the plug!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)- 58% RTAS. A surprisingly low audience score for one of the best X-Men and Wolverine movies. Surprisingly true to X-Men 1&2 atmosphere, and the perfect prequel to those 2 movies, making the single most perfect X-Men Trilogy, centered on Wolverine, start with Origins: Wolverine first. :)

Outstanding performances all around.

My fiancé is a huge marvel and dc comics fan so much, that he named our son Logan. My son even have wolverine figurines and other toys.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)- 80% RTAS. A tremendous movie, artistic, highly visual, weaving a great tale wrapped around the source material. It’s one of my favorites so I’d describe it as one of Johnny Depp’s best movies. We usually watch this at Halloween, but got pulled in early. :)

{@yaxomoxay-Thanks for the suggestion.}

This movie actually works really well. What’s unique about this movie, is that the main protagonist actually does a really good job of presenting -fear in a form- that you can’t physically see. Seriously, Elizabeth Moss Very was impressive and in the sense she’s essentially acting by herself, simulating there’s someone else in the room that you can’t see, and I don’t think that’s an ‘easy task’ to do as an actor.

The downside of this movie, it does fall apart about 2/3 of the way through, which I kind of expected would happen given movie-hype drama is always escalated where it doesn’t need to be.

Two side notes:

1.) Oliver Jackson-Cohen is awesome. I wish we actually saw more of him in this movie aside from presenting himself as being non-existent for obvious reasons. (Check out ‘Faster’ he’s the perfect Hitman in every way possible.)

2.) The ‘Optics’ concept is Seriously is interesting, I think that has potential to be used in the future, I thought the idea was really fascinating with the technology that it seems very possible

The Terminator (1984) was on the TV yesterday evening. I didn't have time to watch it then, so I watched it today. Still a great movie, it's been years since I last saw it but it hadn't really lost much in the way of effectiveness.

I still maintain that I prefer this one by quite a margin over T2. T2 is not a bad movie by any means, but the atmosphere in the first one is hard to beat.

I like the first one and am impressed by the story, but love the second one. :)

The Invisible Man (2020)- Outstanding, the feeling of hopelessness is almost overpowering. Having a controlling sociopath as a significant other in the circumstances of this story is scary as hell. Big thumbs up. :D

Did this suit give its wearer strength? I ask because of the ending. I don’t see her overpowering him, unless the angle is she caught him by surprise. Please discuss this with spoiler tags.

A really splendid plot twist with the brother! :D

Thanks for the "plug", this could be pretty interesting.

Maybe I'll await your report back! I downloaded Jaws the other night for a farewell to summer and still didn't even make time for it... a cold front coming through made me realize how late to the plate that download really was, because "winter's coming" and it's going to be 37ºF here overnight. Eeek.

I've got a smallish backlog to trudge through first, but I'll get to it eventually!

Jaws, now there's a movie I haven't seen in ages. Onto the queue it goes.

A Fish Called Wanda (1988)- 84% RTAS. Heist caper comedy based in London. I love Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Cleese, and Michael Palin in this. There is a real fish called Wanda, but that is also Jamie Lee Curtis character’s name.

One of those movies I can watch countless times! I'm still miffed that I missed it when it was on the TV here a couple of weeks ago, I should see if it's available for rental somewhere...

Kevin Kline really hits it out of the park in this one, and the rest of the cast doesn't fall too short of that either.
