Captain Marvel (2019)- Marvelous! A top tier Marvel Infinity Stone entree. Kree vs Skroll, a story of misdirection with a delightful twist. Guest appearance by Ronin. By virtue of absorbing the power of the Tesseract, Captain Marvel is one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sequel estimated release Summer 2023.

One of my favorite Marvel movies. Especially once the cat is out of the bag on who the Winter Solider is... I mean we all know now, but in the beginning! Good stuff.

And I thought it was garbage.
How it was so highly rated is beyond me. I know people, are, were, are starving for entertainment and to get back to normal. Might be why it was monetarily successful.
The story was cliche and predictable, shallow characters you've seen dozens of times but without any chemistry, nothing really memorable. Unlike the original which made it a classic, this one is completely forgettable.

It had action and lots of CGI. That's often enough. Add in Tom Cruise and you have a blockbuster. People often aren't looking for deep stories or characters and just want the boom-booms.Recently watched:

I was reading the reviews of Star Wars-Rise of Skywalker and I was amazed at the predominately bad reviews. I think they tied up the story pretty well but most people seemed to find it weak.

I guess I feel no sympathy for Hollywood when they claim to be hurting, when they turn out garbage and expect people to just switch off there brain for a couple of hours and basically come away with watching a FX demonstration.
meh...🤷♂️ Glad I lived through the 80's when movies were great.
She's a decent actress and I'd like to see her in more roles and not solely be associated with the Star Wars mess.

I have the DC, It's brutal in the extreme and a hard watch for many...I somehow never watched this one until last night. It was very short (<90 minutes) and very graphically violent. I had fun watching it.

I suppose, but the film was sufficiently different that I don’t think anyone’s going to be confused.
Ant Man (2015)- Scott Lang, busted cat burglar and all around good guy gets small. I like Paul Rudd. Top Tier Marvel story in the Infinity Stone Universe, but no Infinity Stones in this specific story arc.
