Also hoping for an iPhone SE 2, especially if it has iPhone 7 internals. I doubt it, because there's no rumor buzz, but that would make my day.
I'm guessing that iPhone SE gets an update in march, maybe with some new iPad updates, and Mac Pro sneak peak.

It looks like the SE might get a redesign and then Apple might utilize a 2 year redesign cycle, with the odd year being reserved for storage capacity and color change updates. That might be the most interesting unknown right now, what will the iPhone SE 2 look like?

Comcast/NBC/Universal is a monopoly in many markets that should be broken up like the Bell System.
They are also trying to destroy ATSC 3.0 and FREE TV over the air in the US.
But they have more money in peoples pockets than anybody, even Apple! :(

Additionally, my HDTV will show me the resolution of each channel. The Box from Comcast lies, but my TV rats them out. Complaining will do no good to a monopoly. In this market, there is no Verizon FIOS or any other broadband. :(
DC is not a state. You have no rights.

Not just you. I was thinking the same thing.

Don't worry, you're in good company here... before every iPhone launch, you'll hear a lot of comments about how the upcoming model is really ugly and the last model was the most beautiful design ever. I've seen it with the 4, 5, 6, 7 (seriously, you'll find tons of negative comments about the integrated camera bulge instead of using a metal ring like the 6) and now the 8 or X or whatever Apple's going to call it.

That's what led to Steve Ballmer laughing at the iPhone as too high priced for the US. And he was right. Within a short period of time, Apple was forced to reduce the price by a huge 1/3, down to $400.

I don't see it as being forced to lower the price. I see it as knowing early adopters would be willing to pay for the bragging rights.

Two girls on the subway ride home today:

"Are you upgrading to the new iPhone?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Ugly notch-thing."
"What?"
"And camera bump."
"Hmm. You are totally right. I'm getting the Samsung Galaxy S8."

It's not that the notch is ugly; it's that it does not leave enough room for status information; rather ironic since the screen is supposed to be larger.

RADICALLY redesigned? C'mon do you even know what that implies? Radical would be a phone designed like a handset from the 1960s, or a cube, or a circle shape like a disc. But a phone THAT IS A FLAT PLATE with slightly rounded corners that fits in most humans hands is NOT radically redesigned. Let's be honest, all phones look the same. They are all flat slabs of glass. The minor detail tweaking that goes on would make any first year product/industrial designer commit hari kari of boredom.

Hmmm. With the whole AR thing maybe the next truely revolutionary iPhone will be like those small terminals used in the SyFy show The Expanse.

All screen with no visible circuitry or power source; hand gestures; voice control; virtual keyboards; syncs with benchtops; almost indestructible.

Must be made of unobtanium ;)

I just dont think that notch is necessary. Its unnecessarily complicated looking. And I can't think of a reason for it to exist besides to just be different

I'm going to watch the keynote on Ttuesday with low expectations and hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Tim Cook is a supply chain guy. He doesn't care about innovation.

I think I'm gonna hold off reading any more news/rumours regarding the iPhone until after the event. I'm definitely going to be avoiding EverythingApplePro who has posted a ridiculous 50 videos about the new iPhone alone.

If anyone remembers the iPhone 4 & 4S (I've still got mine kicking around in a drawer) that phone has a glass back and that phone is freaking HEAVY! It feels like a brick in your pocket.
Although I'm a big fan of getting rid of the insanely slippery textured aluminum of the last several versions, I have a feeling this new iPhone is gunna be kinda heavy.

We'll find out soon enough.

I do not know what to gripe about with the iPhone edition: the rumoured delays, the high cost, or that notch which is making me go for black rather than the eyesore white. However the need for a new phone is still outweighing all these factors for me, and I really hope Tim cook wows come Tuesday.

Please. The original iPhone is still, and will likely continue, dictating the current state of smartphone development. We don’t need a 10th anniversary iPhone for that.
