Is my signature loss? I’m afraid I don’t understand. If that’s a joke, it went right over my head!
If you image search "loss" right now, you'll see a lot of figures and four panel comics that kinda look like your signature.

They're all parodies of some webcomic that was panned for being lazily drawn and… I don't know the word for when you treat something as more important or deep than everybody else thinks it is. Self important?

In passing, I must say how much I have enjoyed reading the entries on your blog.
I do as well....

Yeah, now I want to go on a rollercoaster. It's been faaaaaar too long. We have some fun ones here, but I'm in the mood for something truly insane, so I guess I'm gonna have to wait until travelling is an option again.

The other thing on my mind is Garageband. Never really seriously dove in, but now that I am dipping my toes into it in terms of "seriously" recording music, it's actually a pretty nifty piece of software. I like it a lot.

And wow. What's on the TV you ask? Well of course, once again, the one with the girl on the bus. Fourth or fifth time now in a pretty damn short while? Whatever, I'll watch it again.

I have a coaster-boner, is that inappropriate? :D

That's the new Jurassic Park / World coaster at Universal Orlando, currently being called the "Velocicoaster", supposed to have some slick theming, but that photo is the 140+ ft high top hat, that you enter from a second mag launch area, with a ~70MPH over and down ... so stoked, er, you know, whenever we actually make it back.

Possibly, yeah, but I'll allow it!

Sounds and looks fantastic. Never been to Florida, hopefully that will change at some point.

Precisely!

When Astro World was open (decades ago) they used to have loop coaster called the Viper, which was great! I love G’s but not going in circles. 🙃

I’ve always enjoyed the large wooden coasters, they have a sound you don’t get on metal.

Yes, same here. There's a certain atmosphere there with the creaking etc. Even if the structure itself doesn't actually creak, it's not that hard to imagine most of the times. One of the ones we have in Helsinki was built in the early fifties, if memory serves, and it's a fun ride even without loops and such.

I wonder if anyone in this age of masks has gotten LASIK just so they don't have to have their glasses fog up anymore, if you can even get it done at all.

I can't do the wooden because they are too jerky and hurt my back

That’s interesting because I’d describe metal coaster as much more jerky, as I think of Space Mountain. I mean they are smooth, but they can have much sharper turns and dips depending on the design which I would think are harder on your back. Mall of America has or had a metal coaster called the Timber Twister where the seats rotated which was puke worthy. :)

The new Hagrid's coaster (also at Universal Orlando) is SPECTACULAR, it's got phenomenal theming, SEVEN launches, a 70˚backdrop, a full on completely vertical drop, so fun, maybe the best ride in the entire US.

I love the idea of wooden coasters, the extra thrill that you're just __sitting__ on the rails, but holy hell, some of them are brutal. The last one I rode was The Mean Streak at Cedar Point and, wow, hahaha, it almost crippled me  It's been re-designed as Steel Vengeance, not sure if it's still as lethal :D

(BTW, nice emoticon selection, hahaha ...)

More modern designs like Hagrid's, the Rockit, have much better designs that aren't nearly as bad as rides like Space Mountain (which is extremely rough).

I got up this morning to find a bag of food at my front door. An early morning DoorDash delivery that no one in my household ordered. There's no receipt with it, and I can't even tell what restaurant it's from (what restaurant sells french fries and fortune cookies?) I thought maybe it was for my next door neighbor, so I went over to ask and it's not his. So free food, I guess? Feel bad for whoever ordered it.

Yea Space Mountain I think goes up and down a lot though. I love Steel Force at Dorneypark. And honestly I don't like them much in general so have only really been on two wooden: Hercules at Dorney and one at Knoebels. Others might not be as shaky.

The Chinese places here have French Fries.
