They didn't care how I felt when I bought a MacBook Pro mid February of 2008 only to release the 2008 model on 2/26/2008.

They didn't care how I felt when I bought an iMac mid July of 2010 only to release the 2010 model on 7/27/10.

This is your chance to be a hero. Buy a 2011 iMac now!

So you appear to be the solution... When is your break down gotta buy date. Two weeks after iMac 2012 will hit. :D

Haha! :D

My dead line is 10/31 and then I am going 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I won't like the sacrifice for mobility, but it would be nice to be on the couch, in bed, or at a desk, whenever I want.

Seriously though, where is the 2012 iMac!? :(

ok im so sick and tired of these new MPR news, like "omfg i can connect 3 displays", omfg the display is so awesome, omfg its fast, omfg this, that, this that" **** already ok we get it its an awesome machine get over yourselves, where are the imacs news, NO ONE is talking about them... they way over due and none of the rumors sites say anything about them because they are too busy jerking off to the new macbook pro.. am i right?? Seriously.. what do you guys think... so so pissed about it..

call apple and complain :p

After a while, all this guessing when new iMacs will appear becomes annoying. Then, it becomes frustrating.
Next stop is feeling nauseated and moving on.

Really, a company like Apple failing to deliver a new desktop for more than a year is mind-biggling.
I want to spend my money, have waited a couple of months, but won't be bullied into buying the current version.
If the desktop is dead to Apple, they should state it. If not, release the damn machine.
I know this has been said in many, many posts before, but it's bordering on the insane now.
I also know Apple can afford to lose a good deal of clients, but won't that affect its reputation (top notch customer support, especially)?
As I wrote before, many companies were "it" in different eras. And not all survived.

Apple is digging their grave and fast.

It´s mind-boggling how a computer company fails to make freaking computers!:mad:

But I guess they are not a computer company anymore, more like a consumer toy company. Or a toy company for "simple people" to put it nicely.

They could sell a good number of Pros to people waiting for iMacs if they updated the Pro properly.

It's been a few weeks since I gave up waiting and bought a 13" Air. I thought it would be a compromise after two decades using desktop Macs, but I actually prefer it and wouldn't go back to a desktop now.

Did the same thing last Sunday, but am returning the MBA 13inch after work - nothing beats an iMac if you can do without the portability! Great computer (MBA)! But i am going to hold out for at least an updated iMac with Ivy Bridge.

+1 to all the angry comments in this thread. I hope they release some info soon. Perhaps on September 12th? *laughs uncomfortably*

Anyone have their fingers crossed for an 8/28 release? Seems highly unlikely, then again, who knows! Tomorrow is a Tuesday!

Either we get rewarded (high unlikely), or its just another Tuesday closer to a potential release!

Bit over the top?? Hardly digging their grave never mind quickly! Might want to check their ever increasing bank balance and market cap.

That is what as known as pump and dump. Apple stock will be down by 25% in less then 3 years. The people left are pumping up the volume they will gets theirs and crash this company/

All signs point to it.

Aye, they're doomed alright.

I can recall a few companies that were the "Apple" of their time and came crashing down. Sometimes just because of one or two ill decisions.

To assume that "we are the richest of the rich and can do no wrong" is presumptuous.

Not saying that Apple is doomed or will crash anytime soon, just that keeping the clients (even if you have new, more numerous clients now) happy is a big part of a company's success.

I agree !

Yet here you are, so desperate for their product you took several minutes to inform the internet of your passion and simultaneous rabid need for their product.

That's a shallow grave indeed.

Eh, that's a way to see it. The way I see it, however is: another Tuesday, another disappointment.
Getting a 2011 refurb both makes more and more sense as the wait becomes longer, and less and less sense as the new one gets closer.

----------

I have been telling myself that since May :/ .

Make that December 2011 for me, when I was getting deluded about the event that turned to be the school iBook whatever thing.

I feel the same, and I think we will for at least another month.
