Here's a different perspective on Tiger: I feel quite comfortable waiting for Tiger as I'm not going to install it before I get a new Mac (which is still some time away). What does Tiger really offer? Dashboard? Well, it's eye candy for sure but doesn't really offer anything for me. I can hide my apps anyway and like to focus on one thing (calendar, notes etc.) and don't need a whole bunch floating around. And if I only open one widget at a time, how is that substantially different from what I do anyway? Lastly, there are always virtual desktops, for all your 'Dashboard' needs. Spotlight? Well, don't need that either. I have no problem finding stuff at all. And again, it doesn't understand all file types on the Mac. Pretty half-cooked solution that is. Search prefs... ok maybe useful for beginners. When I installed the first preview it stalled my Mac when creating an index. Nah, this one's a resource killer which doesn't suite my olden Mac. HD Video? Can't use that anyway. New Mail? Well, looks ok but you can already set up 'smart boxes' via rules... so what?
I could go on with the other feature but you get the idea. I'm not saying that Tiger isn't good for some ppl. Those that can use HD, that have newer machines for which Tiger should be more optimized. And if people really like 'Dashnoard' that's ok. But it will probably be no improvement when you're on an older Mac. All in all, it is, I think, *slightly* over-hyped.
I think all of us that browse through "Mac Rumor" websites are geeks as default. This is certainly the place to express your "passion" for the Apple products, why else would anyone be here. Simple rebuttal to an unecessary comment. And why are you in the "Where is Tiger?" forum then anyways?
