Ordered from Onsale via Amazon on Sunday night. I've been on Shipping soon since Sunday night. Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone order from Onsale Via Amazon and have theirs ship?

You need help dude. There is no reason at all for 1 person to own 4 tablets.

Ha, that's what my gf says. The iPad 1 we let the kids use. Don't care if it gets trashed since I've had that form release..

The iPad 2 my gf uses more than me.
I actually love my 7" Galaxy Tab so use that a lot more. I go between that and my iPhone4 since I flashed the tab to make calls.

The TouchPad runs WebOs which to me, imo, is one of the best looking mobile os out there. Well that and WP7. They just look nice to look at and the WP7 is so smooth.

I got tired of ios, that's just me and some of the little things irk me with ios. Being a software engineer, I just like to know and be able to do things that ios doesn't let me. Android lets me do those things, but honestly it needs a lot more time to be as polished. It does lag a little etc..

They all have their cons and pros.
But a 32gb Tablet for $121 is a no brainer. Had to have it!

Yeah...

I ordered from onsale on Sunday around 4ish. No updates at all. Said it was going to be shipped either yesterday or today.

Gave customer service a call but keep getting a all circuits is busy message. Sucks being kept in the dark.

From what I understand it's not really over clocking since the chip is 1.5 and HP just throttled it down to 1.2 and were going to make the Verizon/ATT models 1.5 anyway.

I was really annoyed by the speed too so I tried it at 1.5 and this thing feels on par with the iPad 2 for most of the stuff I do so hopefully HP unlocks it for good so people don't think WebOS is slow.

do you have a link to how to do it? I saw people talking about it but i forget which thread it was in.

I bought a really limited edition White 64GB Touchpad today around 1:20. So far so good. I just hope they ship it.

Its not looking good for us. http://liliputing.com/2011/08/bn-onsale-run-into-hp-touchpad-inventory-issues-cancel-orders.html

Over the past few days customers have been rushing to buy HP TouchPad tablets with prices as low as $99. The tablet wasn’t a particularly good seller when it launched in July for $499, but at under a hundred bucks, the deal seems to be too good for many people to pass up.

Unfortunately retailers have had a hard time keeping the tablet in stock, and it’s sold out nearly everywhere. HP says more units will be in stock soon, but it’s not clear how many TouchPads are left and how long they’ll be available.

Meanwhile, some customers that thought they had picked up TouchPads for bargain prices are finding out their orders have been canceled. Apparently both OnSale and Barnes & Noble took orders for more tablets than they had in stock. In fact, Barnes & Noble customers with canceled orders have already started a petition which has more than 250 signatures so far.

While many are complaining that retailers should have had inventory systems in place that stopped taking orders as soon as the item was sold out, I’m not completely shocked to see this happen. My guess is that any inventory systems these stores do have normally just fulfills orders on a first come, first served basis… and if the store runs out of stock the seller just orders more. Unfortunately that won’t work this time since HP has discontinued the TouchPad and there won’t be any more units available.

When the price decrease was announced this weekend, our websites and the websites of many major retailers were overwhelmed with customers placing orders for the HP Touchpad. In fact, the sudden influx of orders was well in excess of the amount of product available. We are now in the process of filling valid orders using all available inventory on a first-come, first-served basis. We will be cancelling all orders that we cannot promptly fill and sending cancellation notices. Thank you for your understanding and your patience as we deal with this unprecedented event.

It looks like almost everyone got the email from b&n about it being cancelled. I did as well but on their site it still has me pending and my card was charged.

Just recently, I went the B/N site to check on my order status and it says cancelled, as of today. My credit card still shows the money being held; later, it should be removed.

I picked up mine today, reserved it from work. 32GB for £115, very happy. :)

Just need to look into the modifications now, overclocking and what not.

Pick one up for me please. :D

Serioiusly though. I have the 1st gen palm pre and when i connected it with bluetooth to my touchpad I was able to text, make calls, check VM etc. So if you actually get the modern pairing of the Touchpad + Pre3 for only $175 then thats amazing!

BTW. The stuff HP did with coupling the phone + tablet should embarrass Apple because this kind of stuff we should be enjoying with the iPhone + iPad. So its sad that WebOS never got recognized as a PIONEERING mobile OS. They deserved a better fate...

Mind, it was the Palm Pre that started the Mobile Hotspot craze. webOS has had better notifications than EVERY OTHER OS with the exception of possibly Danger, and webOS' online backup/restore/sync runs circles around anything Android or iOS has managed to do.

SO yes, the OS in my opinion is the superior of everything out there. It just happens to unfortunately be the abused stepchild no matter who gets their hands on it.

got the 'dear john' letter from b&n as well.
oh well.

Anyway, onSale got caught up in the moment is all. Looks like they're going to take a hit on their seller rating and, speaking as a former Amazon Marketplace seller myself, they may very well lose their account over this - unless Amazon gives them a pass due to the Touchpad debacle in general (I don't think they will). Amazon's got a hard nose policy about unshipped product. Basically you screw up once, even if you make good on it and refund the money before it becomes a problem, EVEN IF you're rocking a 100% rating - and they are keen to blacklist you forever.

I bought one from Onsale on Sunday too and am still on shipping soon.

My credit card has a temporary authorization for the OnSale Touchpad order. I thought they didn't charge until your order shipped, so maybe it will go through? Anyone else have any credit card activity?

Edit: Ordered Sunday @6:15pm eastern

I think they may do a temp auth the moment the item is ordered, just to make sure you have the funds available. But it doesn't actually charge/debit the account until shipped.

I still have no idea what I am gonna do with it, but I know my iPad 2 is not going anywhere.

Sell it to me! I desperately needed one for my portfolio. I know that first come first served, but a bunch of people bought more then they need and those who want one are out of luck. I read a blog post where some guy bought 30 of them. He plans to sell them for a profit on ebay next month. I heard about the sale on Saturday, but I kept looking in the wrong places. It was like playing musical chairs trying to find an outlet that I could buy from.

Same boat here. Ordered Sunday night... still waiting for it to ship.

Can't say I'm too happy about it.

Okay good glad it's not just me. Has everyone's credit cards been charged already?

Damn, I started this thread and I only now got a shipping notification from HP. Before that, I hadn't gotten one email from them. I knew I had an order in, but 5 days without any word was a little nerve wracking.

if I didnt know why this thing was discontinued before I know now. Ive just spent the last 2+ hours trying to update it from 3.0 to 3.0.2. it keeps timing out in the middle of the download so i have to keep clicking download for it to pick the download back up. it finally finishes and unpacks. then it says the touchpad must be at a minimum of 50% battery life before I install it.....So I plug it in. when it gets to 50% I go to install it. it starts downloading it again from the beginning!

On top of that I copied all my music from itunes over (all mp3s no drm) it says I have like 15 artists on it when in reality I copied over 100 artists. im hoping 3.0.3 fixes alot of this....if I can ever get it installed.
