If anyone is wondering if their orders placed last night would go through they will it just takes awhile. HP charged my card and changed my order status to processing from verifying.

I placed mine last night via hp.com and it still says being processed, however my credit card was charged almost immediately. Hopefully the status updates tonight.

Assuming I can even find one at this point, is it even worth it? With the limited apps and uncertain future, I'm not sure its worth the risk. Any opinions?

I'm in the same boat as you. Regardless, I still plan on getting one. This is WebOS we're talking about! :D

No updates or bug fixes to webos. No additional apps, bug fixes or updates. So in 5month even the web browser might not run properly anymore. I just decided against getting one. I still hope somebody picks up webos and makes a good device. Then I'm willing to pay even $399 for it.

Why would it just quit running?

For $99, it's a steal. :D

buy 3 sell 2 and get a free paper weight
I can't - all the places I've checked are sold out/no longer offer the Touchpad. :(

do a price alert at new egg. put in that amount either 100 or 150 he said management gets back on monday and they will hopefully know by then... you just to price alert by clicking the item and you will see it on the page near "add to cart."

actually incorrect. HP said that they will support webOS. just no more hardware

What exactly is this "risk" everyone speaks of? Would the iPad really be so horrible if all it could do was web browsing, messaging, Skype, twitter, Facebook, Pictures, Camera, Video, Flash, Games, PDF, Office, MP3, kindle, evernote and a few dozen more tasks?

I know it stinks not to have a HUGE app ecosystem, but it's not like built in apps are less valuable than some of the apps that come out nowadays. I wouldn't say it's worth $3-400 or recommend it for a student or businessman as a primary machine, but for $100??? I'm sure you'd find a use for a tablet somewhere in the house.

HP said a whole lot of stuff in the last year. And as much as we've seen them backtrack, what you said there is still the most unbelievable.

HP not only mismanaged the rebirth of WebOS, they also mismanaged its execution and completely devalued the product AND their own brand name.

Got one. I'm returning my iPad 2 and case. Save myself nearly $500.

$99 Touchpad + Android port = steal

For anyone worried about their Touchpad becoming a paperweight in 6 months time, it's a given that Android hackers will figure out a way to port Android over to it. Or even better create a dual boot tablet.

I've got one coming and it will get used and at some point it will get rooted.

I'll try that. Thanks! :)

i ordered at 1 est and my addresses were different so we wil see what happens

People who purchased as soon as it was available didnt get confirmations until liek 10am so you should be good.

As long as they charged your card and changed the status from "verifying order" to "order processing tracking available upon shipment" your good and 99.999999% guaranteed to get one.

they havent charged mine yet.!

When did you place the order? Any order placed should be good. I hear that there will be more available on monday once they sort through the 1st days orders and verify their stock.

Bestbuy employees were taking all of their stocks to the back room. They said that they were taking all of those units back to HP. But, the manager did say he will let me purchase one for 99 dollars. I tried the demo unit out and I was very disappointed. I would rather get an iPad 1. HP touchpad sucks so bad.

Having a hard time accessing the cart. I don't think it works.

You have to be very patient with it, but it really does work.
It took me around an hour to complete my order of three units, I ordered around 4 hours ago.
My dad ordered one after me and he got through quick so it varies.
Heres a guy explaining more about it
