Got my 42mm Single Tour in black today at the Apple Store in Omotesando (Tokyo). Got there around noon and saw a lot of people already buying theirs or looking at the Hermes watch. Mine was the last 42mm Single Tour in black, my cousin wanted the Double Tour in brown but they had already sold out of those. This was only 2 hours after opening.

Cost was ¥156,600 with tax, about $1300 USD. ¥145,000 without tax, about $1200 USD.

My wife's messaging me from a little line at Galeries Lafayette, about to get her Double Tour (and see if/when they'll offer the bands by themselves). She said she has a surprise for me, too. You can't tell me stuff like that when you're in an Apple Store and then come back home with a damn tie or bottle of cologne...

They are letting 4 into the vault at at time at the UES Apple Store. There is a line of about 6 in front of me and in back of me. They are trying to make it a personal experience.

So I got one of the last ones the UES had in stock. 38mm single fauve.

They are taking down names for models not in stock, such as the double tour. But I'm not sure what that means since it is first come first served and the stores don't get advanced info as to when it comes in. They might get more today or might not.

Given that this seems popular with the fashion conscious and women with money crowd I'd advise Apple to put in place a reservation system. The 50-something woman next to me debating a Rose Gold Edition or a Double Tour as a treat probably doesn't mind waiting a day or two but doesn't want to wait in another line without a guarantee of a product. I'm sure she's not alone.

Wow! Who would have thought it will be such a huge hit! I knew it would sell but THIS?

It's definitely a different crowd, as well. Less techie and a bit older. Apple will need to treat type of customer a bit differently. That's the reason I think they should have had a reservation system for today. I think after the initial wave it will be OK, but there are some unhappy people today (unless they get another shipment and fulfill the orders on the list). Having the try-ons in the vault where they sell the Edition is fine, but they could improve the experience.

Still nothing on the UK website, I suppose you will have to contact one of the five London stores and ask for the price if you are interested in buying one.

Pricing & Availability
Apple Watch Hermès starts at £1,000 for the 38 mm stainless steel case with the Single Tour, £1,050 for the 42 mm stainless steel case with the Single Tour, £1,150 for the 38 mm stainless steel case with the Double Tour and £1,350 for the 42 mm stainless steel case with the Cuff. All prices include VAT.

KPOM and anyone else, did you ask about the bands being available for purchase separately? A couple of members indicated they were informed Hermes plan to offer them separately and were told different prospective prices ($250 and $350).

I did not ask about the bands being available separately.

AppleCare+ is $99 on the Watch Hermes. It covers the bands and the Watch can be returned to any Apple Store for service.

Boy, Apple Care covering the bands is going to be a can of worms, since I'm sure some buyers won't think that the bands wearing in is a good thing.

I'm contemplating getting one but I can't justify it right now as I've only had my regular Stainless Steel one for about six months plus it's quite expensive comparatively. I'll probably wait until next year or when Apple Watch 2 is released and try and get one from the US where it is cheaper.

Those prices wouldn't be correct, anyway. The Watch itself is basically a SS version, so the bands would be approx. what the SB link bracelets go for plus a few hundred. You'd probably be looking at them starting at $650.

It hasn't proven to be a can of worms with Apple's stock bands, which are also covered under the standard warranty and AC+.

Yeah, I figured those prices were too good to be true, but they're the prices given to forum members by the various reps they spoke with.

For anyone looking for the cuff model: I went to both, the San Francisco Apple Store and the Hermes Store about 1 hr after opening. There were lines, but both told me they never had the cuff available in the first place at both places. There were other models available. But yes, I think every time they sell one, they first assign an associate and then you try it on first.

I just assumed they would be taking no reservations, but everyone in line at the Hermes Store had reservations.

Just got back from the Apple Store in South Coast Plaza. The line started at about 7:30am with two people then grew to about five people at 8:30 which wasn't bad. I was No. 5 and it eventually grew to about 30+ people. Surprisingly, a lot of people in line were actually there to pickup their iPhone reservations or get repairs.

Each customer was taken to the Watch table and they had two stations set up to try the different watches. Oddly enough they did not receive the Cuff. They had stock of the Single Tour in Noir and Fauve Barenia and the Double Tour is select colors. The bands really are amazing quality and just give a great finish to the watch face.

I picked up the 42mm Single Tour in Noir. All of them seemed to come in the big square box and I didn't any long boxes. The employee did say that the bands would not be sold separately.
