Waited outside Boulder VZW at 29th st mall. They advised that had zero 7+ but had 7's. The rep took down the contact info of those who want to know when the 7+ are in stock.

I wonder if Apple had to reposition some of the iPhones being sent around the world to make up for the Apple Upgrade Program people...could that have lead to a lack of iPhones everywhere else? Especially the plus model?
The t-mobile I went to this morning had no plus models, only 3 regular 7s, and they said their store received one of the largest shipments of all corporate stores in south florida.
Originally went hoping for a plus but I needed to get rid of my note 7 so I went ahead and got a regular 7 matte black and I'll give it a shot. Worst case scenario I'll return for a plus later on.

Same. What a disappointment.
I am almost positive that is what happened. They wanted to avoid the lawsuit or whatever was going on.
No Apple store where I live. There's a Verizon Wireless store 45 minutes from my house that I go to every year. I was in line at 4AM, all alone until 7AM, no Pluses so I went with a Black, 256GB iPhone. Very happy! In and out by 8:05.

I walked out of my Verizon store with a 128gig matte black 7. Also, they had Beats Wireless headphones for $99 in-store, so I grabbed a pair of those! That's cheaper than Apple's wireless buds will be when they come out.
15th in line at a corporate Verizon store in SoCal. I got in line at 7:15. The person 6th in line was here at 3am. Glad I slept in. Hoping for a 7+ but know from reading these forums that my chances are slim to none. The store seems overprepared for 15 of us. Tents, tables set up, free coffee and donuts. It'll be embarrassing if they have no stock. They did have us fill out info sheets that were sequentially numbered and I overheard a guy say something about plans to prioritize folks even if they have no stock. Maybe they'll call us as they come in?

NO 7 Pluses at the higher volume downtown Los Angeles/USC area Tmobile store. Only one 128 GB 7 in matte black was available for purchase.
Ridiculous. First launch date I've gone through in years and I didn't get a phone through pre order or in store.
This is what appears to be a well crafted marketing tactic for Apple. They have lack luster m upgrades to their premium Plus device and name it an entirely new phone. And send out press releases that the device is sold out everywhere to create hype. And it's working for them. Props to their marketing team.
I have a preorder in for the end of next month until then. Associate at TMobile store took down my name and number if they received any shipments in the next 2 weeks (I asked), but I wouldn't trust any of them to keep their word. They have no incentive to anyways.

Tough luck folks. The supply shortage and big 4 carrier deals were the perfect storm this year.

Exactly. The majority of us who wanted a phone today aren't getting one. Just gotta be patient.
Ok, so here my story in a huge nutshell........Went to a VZW cooperate store, I was #1 in line, #2 in line wanted a plus model. When the VZW employees starting handing out voucher with number you were in line there was about maybe 20 people. Now about those vouchers, they each had a number stamped on them so first person in line (me) was given voucher w/ 001, second 002 and so forth. Now on that voucher you put your name, phone, email, and also the model, GB, and color you wanted. In addition it had all of the accessories etc. that they try to sell you with your iPhone. So they even had it to where you can select the plus model even though they did not have any in stock. So I went in purchase my 32GB - 7 - matte black, but the folks that wanted a plus model were told by the employee helping them they had no plus models in stock. Seems to me like it would have made more sense to announce before they handed out vouchers. I mean I would be upset if I wait in line only to find out they have no stock of the product I want. Now I am having trouble restoring my icloud back-up on my new phone lol

If you just want a 7, today is a great day for you. 7+, not so much.

I thought about going to Verizon this morning but had a hunch this kind of thing would happen. They simply don't know and it seems the store employees that claim to know something are just speculating like everyone else.
It's not that I didn't want the regular 7. As I said on my blog:
I thought this might be the year I go “Plus” but like last year, I asked for one at Verizon Wireless this morning and they said they had none in stock so I am at 4.7” for yet another year. It’s not a huge deal but I leave it up to the gods above and I’m with a standard iPhone yet again. I don’t need a Plus. It would just be nice. I guess the good news is, by going Plus, it would be hard to go back to regular so it’s probably good that I stay in the smaller world.
If I go plus this year and get in line next year and they don't have the plus, I'd basically have to just go home. So it's kind of a good thing to stay with regular. Look at my signature, I really don't NEED a 5.5" iPhone. I have 4 different screens at my desk at work and 3 screens at home. I stay plugged in at my desk in the car and at home. the plus would just be cool to have for the cameras. that's all. I'm totally not bummed or upset.
