It is only that if you don't sell your working 6s. Or give it to someone and save money that way.

I'm trying for at least 3 years on my 7+, almost 1 year now. Instead of feeling pressured to hand my phone off to someone, I just bought them new SE models ($200 via prepaid carrier).

I don't quite understand your post.

There was a $50 bump for the premium storage option this year. Previously, it was a $100 bump, but it’s $150 this year.

Gotcha. I was more interested in knowing how much I paid for my 6s+ with Applecare and 128 GB and 8 with Applecare and 256 GB

I just checked my system and I paid exactly $10 more for my iPhone 8 than I did for my iPhone 6s in Canadian $ and before 5% sales tax.

I knew it was close, but had no idea how close.

I'm happy with that 🙂

What do you like about the 8 Plus? I've considered getting it. I currently have a 6S Plus 128GB. It has been one of my favorite iPhones I've had. I've considered the 8 Plus for the better camera, battery life and 3GB RAM vs 2GB on the 6S Plus. Anything else you like or notice?

The main thing is that it flies through everything, no lag or stutter at all. The 6S Plus is still a great phone, but I’ve noticed some slowdowns here and there. The battery is brand new on the 8 Plus, so that will help there. Better camera, nicer design (my opinion) and I actually like the true tone display.

The 6s is older. It's not old tech.

Old tech is a 5s. It's not a 6s.

People are stupid.

I agree. I just gave my wife a 5s after she rocked a 4s for years and she loves it. I still own my 6s+ and have no desire to get rid of it. It works just fine. The 8 just works better (for me).

I concur on all fronts

I forgot to mention the speakers. Now I understand why people were always so willing to deal with the giant top/bottom bezels/china on the HTC phones a few years ago. Damn it sounds good! Plus it’s way louder than before. If you have a 7/7 Plus it’s probably not as huge of an upgrade though.

I sold my iPhone 6s plus last week. Been using my "old" lg g5 (sold for $650) in 2016 when it was the flag ship lg 2016 phone with snapdragon 820 processor and 4gb ram 1440p screen.

I got it for a steal at best buy in March 2017 for $5/month x 24 months promo. Basically $120 plus taxes out the door ($128 total for me). Plus $25 best buy mobile for signing up for upgrade. Basically this phone cost me $100 dollar.

It's great. I'm just a phone junkie. Owned all the first day android and iPhones for the past 9-10 years.

I finally skipped the iPhone 7 (first iPhone I never owned). Gave my wife the full price $850 iPhone 7 plus 128gb.

Phones are so good these days. I'm just gonna to cherry pick when I will pick up my next iPhone. I just canceled my Sam's club iPhone 8 plus 256gb that was available for pickup even with the $100 gift card.

I'm gonna to wait till November when. Costco and Sam's and target will have their 250-300 gift card promo for jphone 8/plus like they did the past 2 years for iPhone 7 and 6s promo during Thanksgiving.

In the mean time. My lg g5 works great. None of those bootloop problems lg had with the lg g4

Why pay full price unless u truly need a phone asap? Never again will I pay full price for any iPhone including iPhone X. Will just buy iPhone 8 plus next month for discount. Wait for 2018 for next iPhone release.

That's how you gotta play the installments game with the USA carriers these days.

And my lg g 5 will still be worth $200 trade in credit and best buy has their usual $200 minimum trade in credit for phones they run like once every 2-3 months.

A friend of mine said he’s returning his 8 plus after he learned it was a refurbished 7 plus with a new glass casing. I didn’t quite understand it. He’s going to just keep the 7 plus I guess.
Lol. Do people look at videos of these things b4 buying or just blindly buy?

Why buy it in the first place? There was more than enough information available about the iPhone 8 for any potential purchasers to know exactly what they were getting.

Make more informed buying choices in future.
Exactly. It's not that different from the iPhone 7 which is a well-known device by this point, so I don't believe that someone could so badly misjudge the iPhone 8 that they would literally turn it on and immediately decide that it wasn't for them.

I think what happens is, some get frustrated with the device because of defects or issues, and immediately passed a pre-notione judge and don't want to have any more experience with the device because of what happened. Sometimes defects just happen with phones where it inconveniences us, but that's what happens when you mass-produce an item.

I returned mine. But I am getting another one. Mine is making popping noises while talking to people. 🙁 So hopefully the new one won't do that. Sometimes you get a lemon.

Good point, and it just further justifies why judging a new device in less than an hour is short-sighted. I recently switched to the Galaxy S8 and within the first hour noticed a gash in the back glass where the protective plastic wrapping in the package had shifted. But I'm not going to judge Samsung based on that one experience- stuff happens to devices from every brand. I didn't want anything to do with Bixby, so instead of whining on the internet about it, I turned the Bixby button into a home button. A little bit of research prior to purchasing an expensive device goes a long way.

Apple is sending me a new one and I’m sending mine back. I bet my replacement will pop as well. There’s a whole thread on it. Pretty widespread.

Been using 6+/6S+ for years. Was getting tired of size of the +. Picked up 7 this week and now thinking I should just get an 8. TBH, one of camera issues I had with 7+ (returned it) showing up on this 7. So 6S or 8 it is.

Anyone else leave the Plus and still happy months later?
[doublepost=1506201186][/doublepost]I should add I’ve seen iOS 11 GM be glitchy for a day or 2 on an IPP 10.5 & 6S+. Smoothed out after day or so. New file system maybe? Got better though.

It wasn’t just the ram. The processor in the 6s could actually support the 1080p screen. The 6+ sucked pretty bad. My iPhone 5 was faster in most things.
The 6s is the first phone that people don’t really need to upgrade.
Not for this years ehh model anyway. I see this years model as iPad 3. Red headed stepchild nobody will remember

I think the 5, 6 and especially the 6+ were the weakest iPhone releases in the “Post Steve Jobs” era of Apple.

The 6+ was so underpowered for the 1080P display. Lag, choppy animation, weak responsiveness. Apple seemed to learn a valuable lesson since then.

I'm telling everyone I know that got the 8+ to return it and wait for the X. Bigger screen than the plus, smaller body, better screen, etc. For $200 more why would you want to carry that brick around when you can have a bigger, better display, front camera, etc.?
