Because I plan on using it instead of spending my time looking for flaws that are unnoticeable in everyday use.

The majority of iPad buyers don't even know about this issue. Not everyone follows Apple news and has a forum they check daily. I honestly don't see it as a big deal.

I'm not going to buy an iPad2 until i see that the new shipments dont have this issue. i dont remember ever having light bleed when i owned the first. for a few hundred dollars im not going to buy a faulty product

I don't like the sound system in my Toyota and still bought a Toyota.
Nt flawless, not perfect, but still is one of the best choices.

Sorry, you will have to prove to me that your Toyota sound system is one of the best choices. You can only do this by driving your Toyota into a sealed, soundproof container and then turning the volume up to full blast, and recording the results. If there is even the slightest bit of distortion, then that means every Toyota sound system is unacceptably defective and they must issue a recall.

I think some of you are a little off base. I'm being nice by the way. :)

As I've said if are willing to put up with a poorly put together iPad more power to you. Again being nice. :) Whatever you need to do to be sure your money was well spent is a good thing.

i dont know if my ipad2 has a light bleed issue or dead pixels or lil tiny gremlins living in it. it does what i want it to do. it is great replacement for my macbook which i will probably turn into a psuedo mini mac.

I meant that the Toyota as a car, overall, is one of the best choices.

In other words, not focusing on a single feature's performance (aka the Toyota sound system or the iPad2 screen light bleeding in extreme situations) and making a choice solely based on that.

The iPad2, overall, remains one of the best choices on the market despite its flaws.

If the OP is looking for a flawless product, he will wait forever.

I have a White iPad 2.. and even after reading about bleeding issues before I got it, and now that I have it, I haven't noticed. And I don't care about it. Hell, Im even lazy to check if I have some

My iMac has some bleeding, I think :p
But I don't care really.

Maybe the majority of the people don't know what bleeding is, or if they saw it, they think it's normal.

no light bleed or dead pixels here

So some folks are getting white iPads that are just fine.

Seriously, with all the defects and such I've experienced with Apple products over the past 15 months, I now know it's a given not to be surprised if there are isssues. Just return and request exchsnge or refund.

Wifi 32gb here.

So you want me to turn the brightness to 100%, go into a dark room with no light and stare at a black screen? Then and only then I will notice the bleeding???

ARE YOU ****ING INSANE??? Who uses an ipad in those exact situations?

I do when I watch Netflix on my iPad at night.

It doesn't make much sense that this is the light-bleeders argument, does it? The very fact that the directions one needs to follow in order to see the defect is more than three words is a pretty good indication that there is no real issue.

Those three words would be: "Turn it on."

It's a clear way to see the defect. Although if you have any sense of what a decent display looks like you'd notice it the first time there are mostly dark images on the screen. That is if you don't keep the brightness down so low it looks dull. Dull . . . a perfect word at the moment.

I do as well, but what movies do you watch??? All Black ones?? With no colour? Give me a movie to watch from Netflix and I will see if I can find the bleeding when wtaching the movie...
I ordered at the same time 2 of iPad's and both do not show the bleeding. The fact that you have to go through the non normal use exact steps to the the "issue" is a non issue.

No wonder people think what they think about Apple Fanbois and give us a bad name... I have never seen so many people with OCD before coming on this board.

I know, it seems so stupid when you have to follow these instructions. Go to a dark room, turn teh brightness up to 100% and look at a black screen. But nothing else, otherwise you wont see the bleeding...

Its like saying turn the volume up to teh max on your stereo, oh theres distrotion. OMGitsadefectfmlihatethiscompany

For anyone that says they DON'T have a light leak issue, you can prove it by going into a pitch black room, putting your brightness up to 100% and going to an all black screen on your iPad. Then take a picture of your screen from a camera with no flash. I have yet to see an iPad 2 without the light leak issue but I hope they are out there! That being said, I still have an order placed for one b/c, as others have said, it's not that big a deal to me.

Now go to a pitch black room, turn the lights on, and take a picture. If you see any light then you should return the light bulbs, because they have a light leak issue.

Frankly, some people shouldn't be allowed to buy iPads or any device with an LCD screen.
