I agree. Maybe then we wouldn't have to put up with such sucky tech.

My fridge has a light leak issue as well: Go to the kitchen. Turn off all the lights. Open the fridge - OMG there's light inside!!!!!

Mine is a yellowish bleed top right side of the screen, the size of a thumb print at 100% brightness in a lit room. I'm hoping that these issues will go away with time due it just being the glue drying.

I do when I watch Netflix on my iPad at night.

If I do the "light bleed test" I see bleeds.

If I watch Netflix on my iPad at night in the darkness - which I've done several times - I see no bleeds at all.

Of course, I don't watch Netflix on 100% brightness in that totally dark room. Which is exactly why the light bleed doesn't matter - I never ever ever use my iPad in any situation where it shows up, and neither do 80-90% of other people who have a bleed under "test" conditions.

I'm not going to buy an iPad2 until i see that the new shipments dont have this issue. i dont remember ever having light bleed when i owned the first. for a few hundred dollars im not going to buy a faulty product Image

Did you ever turn your old ipad up to 100% brightness to view a black image, in a dark room? if so, why?.

The iPad2, overall, remains one of the best choices on the market despite its flaws.

If the OP is looking for a flawless product, he will wait forever.

That was my point as well, and particularly that the OP is requiring us to go through an unrealistic and onerous set of conditions to prove to them that the iPad 2 is acceptable as is. But the sarcasm was lost on you, unfortunately.

For anyone that says they DON'T have a light leak issue, you can prove it by going into a pitch black room, putting your brightness up to 100% and going to an all black screen on your iPad.

And if you look at any beautiful woman under a magnifying glass, you'll find skin blemishes and imperfections. Maybe you should airbrush your iPad.

Thats why i am waiting for ipad3. My ipad1 screen is not glued to the bazel, has no bleeding or any kind of yellow discoloration. Apple did slip up with quality control on ipad2s... Good luck everyone else.

...

Why are people still buying iPad 2's if every one of them has light bleeding issues? I really wanted to get an iPad 2 but I have seen the pics and realized almost every iPad 2 has light bleeding issues.

Is this a non-issue for people still trying to get an iPad 2?

This is a non issue. Its so minor that people on here as usual are just trying to find soething to complain about. Its far less noticable than the screen yellowing on the imacs and they still sell millions of imacs

I see, now
Sorry about that. There are some extreme opinions on this board and sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect.

I am not sure how bad my light bleed is. It's there, I can definitely see it, but only on a dark background in a dark room. So far, didn't cause me any problems.

...

My ipad never exceeds 50% brightness anyway, and if its dark i have it at like 25% so light bleeding is a non issue

Mine has a very very very tiny occurance of it that you can only see at 100% brightness in a dark room. I would have never noticed it or looked for it if it weren't for this thread.

THAT'S why people are still buying them.

Because your iPad is not faulty? ;)

Here's how they should all look.

100% and normal viewing for the most part at 50%

As someone who got into the vicious OCD return cycle with my iPhone 4, I just don't see the point in messing with it. I don't see it because I don't like my screen at 100% brightness and even then I barely see it unless I'm really trying.

I have no dead pixels, no weird raised glass problems, no nothing. I am keeping this iPad and I am just going to continue enjoying it as I have since the first day I got it. I am very happy with it.

That's all I want too. I'd say most would be happy if that were the case.

IMO, most people don't have their brightness turned up to 11, so they don't even notice it.
